This is my new thread on my current game at Spurs. Ive never managed from the start of Fm08 in the Premier League so I thought I'd give it a crack. I didn't want to tell the board that I thought I could be a title challenger, even though I think it is possible.

Another 5 star performance from the side after an early scare. Predicted to be a close one, Spurs ran riot in the second half producing three goals, and it could have been more too. The second half saw new signing Ryan Taylor put in a solid display in his debut.

Not the end to the pre-seasons I wanted, Spurs dominated the whole of the first half and Levante had Storari their keeper to thank with a string of superb saves. Ignashevich sent off for a cynical foul on Riga on 45 minutes. Angel saw his 20 yd strike deflect off Kaboul into the net, and Courtois wrapped up the win with a close range header.

Spurs opening fixture saw them nearly stumble against a Sunderland team more than up for it. Tugays 30yd screamer was cancelled out by a superb 72nd minute curler from Menez on his debut, and Jenas stole the points when his 25yd free kick deflected off the wall. Chances were few and far between for both sides, maybe both suffering from opening day stagefright.

No your eyes do not deceive you, there really were 9 goals at Pride Park today. Despite going behind TWICE in the first half Spurs went in at the break 4-2 up. I told them I was happy and they scored another 3! At least Bent wasn't completely selfish-he did allow Keane and Jenas a goal each too. Poor old Derby looked shellshocked and couldn't get off the pitch quick enough.

What should have been a straightforward win was nearly scuppered by Spurs defence going walkabout at every opportunity. Jenas kept up his superb scoring run and there were rumours that Robbie keane was offside when he scored, but his manager's view was blocked and he didnt see the incident. Paul Robinson performed the heroics at the end earning him the man of the match, though he could do nothing about Vaz Te's 90th minute speculative 25 yard effort.

Another disappointing game but in the end the right result. Yakubu put the home side ahead after 32 minutes with a typical run and finish, before Bent headed home Menez's superb cross. Bent was brought down in the box by Neville and stepped up to score the penalty. However Samba completely missed Howards punt upfield, allowing Johnson to set up Pienaar for an easy finish. On reflection probably the fairest outcome.

Cheers mate. To be absolutely honest with you at the start I was going to look into offloading him in January! However with him firing at the opposition goal from any angle (And nine times out of ten he hits the target) and poor old Berba not getting a look in at all I might have to rethink this.

Shame he isnt that prolific in real life really, both in terms of Spurs and England. On FM07 and 08 he seems to do the business though.

And also...What about Jenas??? 3 in 3!!!!
