So, I've started a new game...again. This time, I've decided to try and make a proper career out of this one by starting low and trying to build my way up. Either with the same club or being a 'journeyman' so to speak.

League wise it was a pretty successful season. I was predicted to finish 15th in the league and managed to finish on the same points as the league winners. But I did lose in the play off final which was immensely dissapointing. As was my cup runs. All the games I lost in each of the cups, I should have won convincingly.
Things also don't look great for next season either because of our financial situation. We need to bring in new players but there isn't the cash to lure players in. There isn't enough cash for the wages I'm currently paying and it's proving difficult to get rid of the poor players in the team that I don't need. I may need to get rid of some of my better players just to ease the strain on the bank.

Either way, I've got to look forward to another season in the Blue Square South.

unlucky ru hopefully promotion will be yours next season GOOD LUCK and with Worcester in BSN i had no money lol, go for youngsters if you using 8:0:2 2nd season, these players were avaliable for free, when i was in BSP, dunno if there go to BSN, but try

Unlucky Ru mate...the signings you make, personally I wouldnt make. Im a very picky manager and I only go for the best, even if it means going over the budget.

Have a look at
Patric Ntola Mkhawana, Sirengo, Jamie garry, Conor Larkin. Wayne Drummond is a future prospect if u can get him, hes has a potential of -9 or something and hes a non league gk!

For a large portion of that season the phrase, always the bridesmaid, never the bride popped into my head. It seemed that I was destined to finish in 2nd place again, this time behind recently relegated Salisbury. Instead, my strike force of Higgins and Fairhurst ripped the league apart and helped us get promoted.
Our cup runs were a lot better than last season as well. For a start we reached the semi finals of the Setanta Shield losing to the team we beat in the promotion race, Salisbury City.

Now I've got to strengthen for our maiden season in non-league's premier division.

Season Review.
An incredible first season in the Blue Square Premier League ended in dissapointment as we came so close to winning the league and achieving double promotion. Yet another loss in a play off final was our final result and despite punching above our weight all season, we didn't make it. We did however add our 2nd piece of silverware in as many years, beating Cambridge United in the FA Trophy final just before they beat us in the playoff final. I personally think it was the old legs in the team that let us down as our form towards the end of the season went to pot.
I was also pleased that Sam Higgins carried on his tremendous form from last season by racking up the goals. Albeit not as many as last season but still a tremendous amount.
Next season I'm hoping to ship out all the oldies and bring in younger fresher legs to make a serious challenge on the BSP and hopefully this time next season I can be looking at league football for the first time in Thurrock's history.

I know. Especially a playoff final against a team from Cambridge.

2007/08, I lose the BSS Playoff final to Cambridge City.
2009/10, I lose the BSP Playoff final to Cambridge United.
