I thought I would start a new game with a bit of a challenge. Started with England (all divs), Scotland (al Divs), Ireland and N. Ireland. Started as unemployed and imediately got offered Wexford Youths (Ireland). The league was halfway through the season and Wexford was firmly rooted at the bottom with 5 points. The wage I was offered was £0. The wage bill for the players is £0. Only the Assistant manager was on a wage of £40 p/w. So far I have spent some time looking for new players and staff. The first match I have to contend with the odds are 50-1 against Wexford winning. So I have spent a bit more tie looking for more players. I like challenges bit this one looks rather tough. I will post later how I get on.

So far signed 20 new players all on £0 p/w along with coaches and scouts. Played 4 games (we were rated at 50-1 against in all matches). Won the first and second games both 2-1, lost the 3rd 3-1 and drew the 4th 3-3 with the equaliser in the 92 min. Closed the gap down to 5 points behind the next team. Doing better than I thought I would.

Who are Wexford Youth? I've heard of teams having like £1k budget but £0 wage budget? lol good luck with surviving the league

I've managed this team before, there the only ameatur team in ireland i think, managed to finish in mid table in first season before they became semi-pro. That made things alot easier, then left to get a job in england. good luck mate. its fun managing in the uk.

They're basically a senior extension of the successful U-18's Wexford League side coached and run by Mick Wallace - the chairman of Youths.

His ethos is steeped in Italian football - as he's a massive fan of football there (hence the pink away gear)

The club has stated an intention to be a unique institution in Irish football in prioritising local players, and has only taken on players from the Wexford area

(It's basically a County Representative side in all but name with the focus on youth development)

Well I am still in charge of Wexford Youths. Played 10 games so far, won 4 drawn 2 and lost 4. Still bottom but closed the gap to 3 points from the team above me. Every game we are odds of 50-1 while opponents get 1-33. Because I pay the players no wages, I just kept signing players, lots of them and I think it has upset the team a bit. Signed over 50 players, but have managed to get some better players so hopefully will start setling down again. The club is making money at about £6k per month, but this is going to take a long time to get the -£440k the club had when I took over 2/3rds the way through the season. Will keep you posted. With just 8 league matches left for the season can I get off the bottom.

Finished bottom with Wexford but have got a 1 year contract extension. Hope I can do better.

Well, I suppose you've got your maiden season out of the way and you know what it takes to perform with them now.

sounds like a ridiculously tough challenge to manage such a small team, best of luck with it, do you have a parent club ?

There is no relegation in this div, just promotion. Playing this team seemed a bit odd. I was offered £0 wages but the assistant manager gets £40 p/w. I was so many points behind in bottom place when I took over I had no real chance to catch up with the number of games there was left in the season. Just as an experiment I started a new game with the ver 8.00 database and got offered Wexford again but with a wage of £80 p/w. Is this a bug getting £0 wages on Database 8.02.
Also I use the Flex Skin as I like to see the star ratings in the same page as the team. But on version 8.00 every player has a star rating of 7 which is wrong.
Its amazing how many mistakes the players make in this divsion. Kick the ball out when there is no need to bad back passes, etc. Hope things improve next season.

Ru, he did amazing to even get close to 2nd to bottom. I've been Wexford before, it's well hard. Just managed to come 2nd to last though :P

After just being offered a 1 year extension on my contract with Wexford, I started a new season which will be my first full season with them. Bookmakers odds on us winning the div is 5000-1, in fact I should be looking to avoid the embarrassment of finishing bottom. Total season ticket sales are a whopping 58. And I have even had an offer of £1000 for one of my players. I am sure that will ease my debt of £400,000. Can this team get more depressing, we shall find out.
