Also on the look out for a target man, got some pacey strikers just need some big fella to flick it on for them. Blue Square Premier 2009/10 I seem to lack any big game players who can turn it on against the big teams, i had a difficult run in and only took 9 points from my last 10 games. Things are going to have to change, i'm going to attempt to bring in some experience, anyone got any other suggestions ? Last edited by Broughy; 16-07-08 at 01:34 PM. I've also been given promotion odds of 2-1 so things are looking up, i'm particularly excited about signing Tony Stokes who was released by West Ham, as well as Aldi Haxia from Chelsea, should provide a solid goalkeeper at last to stop me conceding so many goals like usual. I will put up a screenshot of my tactic and player stats after a few months of the season. Wish me luck. | | | | 16-07-08, 06:45 PM | #8 (permalink) | | FMF Accountant - Here To Help Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Southampton Posts: 1,583 Thanks: 151 Thanked 458 Times in 334 Posts Nominated 11 Times in 2 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 1 | Hmm..not bad but I think that you should sign better and quality players. I got to second seasons, I spent like an hour looking for players decent enough (it was a Sunday, and there was nothing to do xD) Take time using search list and finding hidden players. Its the reason I got promoted in second season in to League 2. | Current Game: Blackburn Rovers Season 1 - Playing | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Bowser For This Useful Post: | | 16-07-08, 07:20 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Sunderland Posts: 192 Thanks: 71 Thanked 19 Times in 19 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | i seem to be conceding a ridiculous amount of goals, no matter how many defenders i stick at the back, any suggestions ? | | | | 17-07-08, 01:49 AM | #10 (permalink) | | FMF Donator, V.I.P and Writer. As for your defensive problems, if I'm conceding loads but I have a strong attack, then I tend to go gung-ho with a 4-3-3 formation to score more than my opponents. Not sure if that would work in the lower leagues but it's worth a shot if you're struggling. A 5-4 victory is better than a draw or a lose. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to liveru For This Useful Post: | | 17-07-08, 11:57 AM | #11 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Sunderland Posts: 192 Thanks: 71 Thanked 19 Times in 19 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | most of the signings are youngish players being released from EPL and Championship teams. With the odd foreign regen thrown in for good measure. I have previously gone for a 3-4-3 and got plenty of 5-4 wins but i have two good wingers so want to utilize them. | | | | 18-07-08, 04:15 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Sunderland Posts: 192 Thanks: 71 Thanked 19 Times in 19 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | well my so-called "promotion season" didn't turn out too well. i faded into mid table oscurity yet again and the start of the following season wasn't much better, losing my first 6 games. I've turned it around and i'm steadily making my way up the table, signed Danny Murphy at the back-end of last season and he's doing nicely, gettin some goals from attacking midfield role. I also continued my off season tradition of raiding young players released by EPL teams, picked up some solid 18/19 year olds who are putting in good first team performances already. Harry Snodin has been superb on the left wing. He was released by Newcastle. Michael O'Connor has improved a lot, i got him nailed down to a full time contract and his performances have been good. I've got a tough trip to league 1 team gillingham in the FA cup second round, so i will update with the result pretty soon. | | | | 18-07-08, 05:30 PM | #13 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 34 Thanks: 5 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | cant believe you scores 100 goals and had a minus goal difference. thats unlucky man | | | | | 18-07-08, 07:07 PM | #14 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Sunderland Posts: 192 Thanks: 71 Thanked 19 Times in 19 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | as expected i lost to gillingham, 4-2. despite being 1-0 up at half time thru tony stokes, the gills took over in the second half and i was lucky to escape with dignity intact. gna update in more detail from now on.
