Default Austria Wien

Thought I'd start a game with just the smaller division in Europe, so I ended up at Austria Wien 1 of the 2 big Vienna clubs in Austria. My goal is to dominate Austria with Wien then move on to another country.

Well I've just hit August and played a few games so I'll start the first update

Manager Overview

As you can see the defence is still a bit shaky but every defender is a new buy so will take a little time to settle in.

Transfers

Released a whole lot of players as the Austria squad was pants lol.

The biggest game so far was home to Salzburg who have easily the best squad by a mile in Austria. My damb winger missed 2 late penalties that would have given me a awesome win.

I'll update probably every 2 months perhaps and important games.

Cheers Liveru

Yup defence seems to be the slight concern now. You have a cracking game coming up against Rapid.

Currently managing:
  1. Real Madrid CF (2007-08) Spain
  2. East Bengal (2009-10) India

Good one, mate. As you've seen from my 'longest thread in history' thread, I've just spent a couple of seasons in Austria. Despite Fedders, and a few others, telling me that it was easy to win the title with Salzburg, I managed to prove everyone wrong!

If you've got the cash, try and sign some of their players. I found that several left at the end of my first season, didn't want to sign new contracts. Vonlanthen, Ochs (GK) and Carboni were good. The strongest team in my 2 years was Rapid.

Good luck and I'll be interested to see how you get on.

one other question, and sorry if I sound a bit of jerk, but do you normally just release everyone that you think is not worth hanging onto?

I usually hang on and hope that someone comes in for them. I'll generally send them out on loan so I'm not paying the wages, but I suppose I'm hoping to try and get some money for them. I am also worried for the effect it can have on the rest of the team if you chuck out loads of players at the same time.

Am I way off the mark with this, should I perhaps be more 'bullish'?
