Default Spartak Ryazan FC

SPARTAK RYAZAN FC

This is my new current game thread. At the end of each FM08 month I will update the thread, though unfortunately because of my computer setup I cannot produce any screenies.

Thanks to Fedorico, who's crazy challenge inspired this thread.
How hard can it be

February 2007

Existing Squad

Very little to work with here. On my game (version 8.0) at the start there were only 3 senior players on the books at Spartak and two youngsters from the youth team in the first 11 (or 5!!1).

Alexey Kopilov (ST)
Oleg Fomenko (MC)
Denis Kluyev (DC)

Time to get busy then. With upcoming friendlies booked I had to move a few players from the youth side to make up the numbers. I played my first two friendlies with the best team I could muster, average age of the team was around 16. I think we did well with the kindergarten teams we had to field!

Spartak 2-3 Don
T.Vladimir 3-1 Spartak
Spartak 3-1 CSKA Moscow Res
Spartak 1-5 Nara Desna

4 Games, one win. Time to bolster the squad. With 12k to play with I was unlikely to sign Ronaldo or Messi, so I did the best I could.

William Oliviera dos Santos from CEF Ptak (Free)
Sergey Krashenko from Spartak Nalchik (1k)
Anton Kochenkov from L.Moscow (1k)
Yakov Tcheremisov from Saturn (free)
Alexey Blokha from CSKA (2k)
Alexandr Saenko (Free agent)
Emil Tsatskin (Free agent)
Mikhail Goncharov (Free agent)

And at least another seven or eight players I'm waiting on to see if they will come.

About ten days til start of the season, have booked in for the weekend before the great kick off to play our youth side in a warm up game.
Looking forward to a very long hard season.

On mine I told them I could mount a title challenge, and the board offered me 12k transfer kitty. I Know full well it will be all I can do to keep them alive, but I wanted to give myself at least a chance.

*edit* if they dont, get as much wage bracket as you can and adjust the budjet via the Board room screens

SPARTAK RYAZAN FC

MARCH 2007

Additions to Squad

Maxim Frolkin (Free agent)
Alex Yeschenko (Free agent)
Oleg Dmitriev (Free agent)
Sergey Lysenko (Free agent)
Sergey Kalashnikov (Free agent)
Alik Dulaev (Free agent)
Ruslan Kunikhov (Free agent)
Alan Zaseev (Free agent)
Alexey Babenko (Free agent)

Still on the look out for a pair of decent DC and a good AMC but things looking up on the squad numbers, at least I can now field a side without any 14 year olds in it. Other news is I managed to sell a whopping 150 season tickets!

Final Friendlies of the season

Spartak 3-3 Orel
Spartak 4-1 Spartak U18's

First League Game March 25th 2007

Spartak Ryazan 0-2 Textilschik Ivanovo
Salugin 34,47

Man of the match: Alexandr Salugin

A hard fought encounter in which Spartak surprisingly had 48% of the possession. We went close twice in the first half, and had a disallowed goal in the 57th minute, but ultimately were caught out on the counter attacking ability of the Ivanovo frontline. Plenty to take heart from though.

2nd League game March 28th 2007

Sodovik 2-1 Spartak Ryazan
Mazaev 7,13
Alexey Kopilov 90

Man of the Match: Anton Konchenkov

Hopeless defending in the first quater of an hour showed me where some very obvious weaknesses lie, the two DC Goncharov and Lysenko showing a lot of naivety, choosing to stop on the ball when they should be pelting it into row z! Great finish by Kopilov in stoppage time though, nice to break our scoring duck early on. Roll on April....

SPARTAK RYAZAN FC

April 2007

Lost one of my better players, Denis Kluyev to a dislocated jaw in training, so now gonna have to operate a slightly different formation. With theses players its no use swapping them into an unfamiliar position, they just won't play well. Still searching for our first points of the season we had two nightmare fixtures against two of the top four teams.

3rd League Game April 4th 2007

Spartak 2-3 Baltika
Vishnevskiy 15,60
Ryzhykh 19 pen
Fomenko 41
Tcheremisov 74

Man of the Match: Vyacheslav Vishnevskiy

Yet another hard fought encounter in which could have gone either way. Baltika were on the back foot for much of the second half, we just couldn't score. Goal of the game scored by Fomenko, a 25 yard banana shot which flew into the top corner, contender for goal of the month.

4th League Game 7th April 2007

Shinnik 4-0 Spartak
Popornov 11
Pavlenko 32
Monarev 39
Khazov 84

Man of the Match: Alexandr Pavlenko

Against the current top team in the league we stood little chance, and if being truthful, Shinnik's woeful finishing kept the score to a respectable figure. We only had one shot on goal the entire game, and 32% of the possession which just about said it all.

5th League Game 14th April 2007

Spartak 0-1 T. Moscow
Djorde Jokic 27

Man of the Match: Anton Kovchenkov

Despite hammering our goal with 17 shots, the heroics from keeper Anton Kovchenkov kept it to an incredibly respectable 1-0. Spartak now showing some potential, the players are starting to link well, and move like a team starting to gel. Main cause of concern is the fact that although the majority of the Torpedo Moscow shots were from outside the area, opposition teams still get opportunities to shoot. Personally can see a point or two in upcoming fixtures as we play a few of the relegation candidates.

6th League Game 17th April 2007

SKA Khabarovsk 0-1 Spartak
Parfenov Missed pen 55
Tsatskin 90

Man of the Match: Anton Kochenkov

What an unbelievable result!!!! Against promotion faves, despite having little possession in the first half we held on, then late into injury time (90+3) my 70th minute substitute Tsatskin tucks Saenko's cross neatly into the bottom left. Kochenkov saves brilliantly from Parfenov's pen, and parried the rebound too, to cap a great day for Spartak Ryazan 3 points, and off the bottom into 20th place!

7th League Game 21st April 2007

Spartak 1-4 Alania
Bruno Reis 4,45
Ricardo Xavier 12
Alan 70
Tcheremisov 36

Man of the Match: Bruno Reis

An incredibly tough game that saw a team only 7 points above us move further away. We couldnt get the ball, save for our only attack in which we scored and were on the back foot for most of the game.
News in Brief, William has announced he is unhappy and wants to move on, just as I secure the signing of Angelo, another Brazillian, who will join us at Spartak Ryazan in August.

8th League Game 27th April 2007

D.Bryansk 5 - 2 Spartak
Vasyljev 29,45
Klimenko 34,51
Yesipov 90
Larin Sent off 72
Tcheremisov 67
Tsatskin 79

Man of the Match: Andrey Klimenko

Two goals disallowed for pushing from corners, and Bryansk down to 10 men for the last 20 odd minutes couldnt' save Spartak as the ongoing battle against winning a game goes on. We never got going, and as usual the defence was hopeless. Never got going, and the goals for us came from two of our three attacks.

Final league table stats for end of April

P8 W1 D0 L7 F7 A21 Pts 3
