i thought id start really low down in the leagues for a change so went with york city!! i got really lucky with some of my signings and have got promoted three seasons running but now in the championship and going well my finances are shocking...

FM2008 has set the clubs stadium to be upgraded from 9000 standing to 8000 all seater but not til 2013 well im in 2010 and club cant cope with wages and life in championship let alone if we make the premiership, it is driving me round the bend and everytime i ask the board for upgrade they say it is hand argh!!!!

worried will get sacked for poor finances even though team is going well!!

Any ideas or thoughts on problem???? (would be appreciated)

Simple as this, sell people!!! If its your first season you will be expected to go down so you won't get sack if you go down so just sell players, even if he is your star player, if he's on £12,000 and Derby want to pay 1.5 mil to take him off you then accept, trust me if you do this you will be able to buy more players for next season, had to do this on my redditch (Redditch - Champions of the World) I had to sell half my team for next to nothing so I could bring in quality. BTW to get York in champ in such a sort time, well done.

To sum up:

1. sell useless players cheap and good players for same-above there value, depends how much you need him.

2. don't sign people you can't afford, if they want money you haven't got, don't sign him.

3. Only sign youth players you need, now I know what your thinking, "there on £100 a week how could that make a difference. Trust me it adds up.

4a. Sign loan players to keep you up etc. Most you don't have to pay wages, you get a great player basically for free.

4b. Loan out your own players, but make sure they pay for his wages, if you don't need him but you scout says he's the next ronaldo then pay part of his wage, anythings better than nothing.
