Ok, so I finally got to start to play fm08 and I wanted to pick a team with OK finances, OK chances of promotion, and I wanted it to be in League one. I picked Southend United.

Southend united is a team who in the last years have been in the wind with the hiring of Steve Tilson. He brought them to the Championship, but only for so long. They relegated in their first season.

Roots Hall is the stadium of the Shrimpers and 12,000 seated places! This is a hub for magic. Miles away you can hear the roars of the Southend supporters.

Christian Linchausen was greeted with doubt when he was hired. This soon changed when the fans saw what him and Southend are capable of.
This is Southend's climb to the top....

So I made this thread when I'd came to my 11/12 season. I will make a short recap of the recent events.
In my first season of managing i said to the board i would make promotion. The media said I could do 7, but with this squad and with reinforcements to come i knew we could make it.

07/08 transfers:

In this season I also won the JPT.

08/09 Goal: Safe mid table positions. Quite high expectacions from me but my squad at this time had good depth and lots of skillfull players as Tommy Høiland and Jabu Pule.

I was given quite the budget this time of 1 million £. With that kind of money on my mind I didn't do the best transfers. Bad job by me really but i managed to get by anyways.
Transfers:
The buy of David Amoo was clearly a mistake. He ain't nearly good enough for 1 mill imo. Fernandez didn't get to much play time either as Høiland was superior. I also signed Dalla Valle. He is amazing really. Like 7,20 every season since.

In the cups I didnt do too well. Third round in both.

League table:

Finished 7th in first season of Championship wasn't bad. Next season I was going for the promotion....

09/10: Goal for this season was promotion. Because of my pied all over last years budget i didnt get any transfer funds. Understandeble considering i overspent vastly last year on the payments. I signed some decent ones at free transfer tho.
Transfers:

Felipe Saad is very decent tower CB. Lindholm is also a very very nice young regen(unfortunatly) player. As you can see the squad lost alot of weight, but it was needed to bring in the few players.

League Table:

Yeeeaaaaaaa! Premiership next! W00t W00t. Too bad i didnt win really. The matches agains Sunderland decided it so. I lost that one.

Anywho Im sorry for all this wall of text and summaries. But I only came over this site a few weeks ago and thought it would be cool to post this season here. This is my first time using photobucket etc so excuse me for the hazzle with the photos etc. Anyways - coming up: Southend in the premiership!!!

10/11 Season!
Goal: avoid relegation. Media predicts me 20th.
The board give me a starteling transfer budget of 14,5million£. Quite alot for a little club like Southend. I signed alot of decent players like Nani, Kazenga Lua Lua, Babel(loan), Søren Larsen.
Transfers in/out:

I started out good, i was at 2th for a short period of 2 games. I hoovered around 6th place until it hit me. A tsunami of horrendeus luck came my way. It was vast beyond imagination. We were stung, and stung badly. A streak of lots of games without wins pointed us towards the dreaded relegation sone. More and more matches were played, and at a higher frequenz did our striker miss clear goalscoring oppurtunities. Then it suddenly turned around. We were at 19th place. 8 matches left. In those last matches we made 6 wins out 8. 1 draw and one loss.


We ended the season proud as a shrimper should be. 12th place!!


So this brings us to where I am now. Just started a new season in Premier league and will make a real post about it soon. I cant stand writing all this bout fm and not playing it. More to come in a week or so.

Well both of them were actually benched in both their clubs so was an easy pick really..

anywho, ill update some more once i get to playing again.
