On this game I wanted a challenge so I took up Redditch and here is the facts. Transfer Budget: £0 Wage Budget: 4.7k (used 4.2k so only £550 left) Media Expectation: 22nd Board Expectation: To avoid relegation Fans Expectation: To avoid relegation Cup Expectation: FA Cup: 4th Qual Round FA Trophy: 1st Round Setanta Trophy: 2nd Round Feeder/Parent Clubs: None (trust me that makes it even harder) I will post my results for preseason later today and post transfers in and out to show you I'm not cheating. Will also show my Finances and other stuff. Hope you enjoy the ride as much as I do. | | | | | 04-04-08, 03:48 PM | #2 (permalink) | | vBookie Team, Member of the Ozza Family Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Cheshire Posts: 2,254 Thanks: 540 Thanked 328 Times in 268 Posts | Tough challenge Josh. I tried this and came 2nd in my frist season and lost in the play-offs and in my second season i won the league by 24 points. Then my game got corrupted lol. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to WozzaWolves For This Useful Post: | | 04-04-08, 04:12 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 13 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post | its not as easy as older versions of football manager/champ man where u could fly up the leagues which was quite easy by bringing in the right players, even goin from league one to prem is difficult on fm 2008 because its more in depth with the training and infastructure at the clubs. It takes season after season to slowly build a club with the realistic financial restrictions on 2008. I tried with sutton utd who r a big conference south team and couldnt get past league one (i was gonna get relegated so i stopped playin) as i couldnt get decent enough players to come and had no investment or support from the board. p.s if u could get to the championship with redditch that would be impressive good luck on your game | | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to leanardo22 For This Useful Post: | | 04-04-08, 09:07 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 219 Thanks: 39 Thanked 24 Times in 24 Posts | I'm also manager of England and U-21 England. Aston Villa is the best choice, you can get players like Zoltan Stieber, Adam McGurk, Marc Albright and Ciaran Clark. With them you will win the league no problems. | | | | 05-04-08, 12:39 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 219 Thanks: 39 Thanked 24 Times in 24 Posts | Thats the problem, board say there is no point to have a parent club like Villa or anyone. It piss's me off, I do have a star in the making tho, My right-mid playmaker, set piece taker, superstar... Sean Coburn. posting results soon. | | | | | 05-04-08, 05:12 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 219 Thanks: 39 Thanked 24 Times in 24 Posts | Transfers: The Best has got to be Sean Coburn, what a player he can do everything, if he stays fit we will be fine. Transfer (Financal) Not bad for the future of the club, lets hope one does well and sells for a couple of million lol. Trials: Just to show you how many people I tryed in Pre-season, some I bought others I didn't, can't go through them all, was very angry with game, was going to sign Azariah O'Garro p/ex for a guy in my exchange that they want when the worst happened. In a Friendly he injured his calf and was put out for 2-4 months. The best was Josh Wright, my scout says he will be a good L1 striker in future and he has 14 JoP. Now for Fixtures: Redditch Vs Whitby = L 1-2 Hamp & Rich Vs Redditch = L 2-3 Redditch Vs Stockport = L 0-1 Grantham Vs Redditch = D 3-3 Redditch Vs Eastbourne = W 2-0 As you can see it was a poor Pre-Season, the loss to Whitby and H&R and the draw to Grantham but the win against Eastbourne and the loss to Stockport show great promise for the season. I think that if Sean Coburn and a few others keep fit and luck plays my way then I might and thats a big Might, be able to reach the play-offs but I don't think that'll happen. I have also made a huge improvement in the Financial side of Redditch, I may have sold most of my players for free but because they were on £150-£300 and I only had £550 in the beggining to spend on wages this put me in a great position to sign players. Total Wage Budget: £4766 per week Current Wage Budget: £2769 per week Thats nearly 2k I'm saving a week basically. Will post the results of my first month later today or tommorow. Perhaps they don't want you to succeed and then be forced to give you a lot of money... Anyway GL.You'll surely need it.I've played against Redditch and they're crappy. | Toumba...Don't you just love it? I'm very happy with this month, the team has done well and as you can see Dave McEwen is my star Striker. Some may remember him from the late 90's where he played for Tottenham and his short time at QPR, but he has been out of work since then and to say he hasn't played competitive football for 6 years he has played unbeliveable. Josh Wright looks good aswell for the future and Sean Coburn is on fire as playmaker and scored a great freekick against Harrogate. The big shock signing during this month came from my Scout, Joe Anyinsah. I have got him on loan til end of season but guess what, he's out for a month. Watch this post to see if he does well. I've had him on previous games and he looks good. The Setanta Shield North 2nd round was drawn this month and we got Workington at home, I could do with win because we need money. Watch this post for next months results. | | | | | 06-04-08, 03:29 PM | #14 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 2 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | good luck mate i done 1 with workington finish jst outside the play offs in first season and then won the play off second season got to league 2 after 5 seasons then it went all pair shaped. trying to get them back in the league but its hard mate. but anyway hope u have a good season mate. coopes | | | | | 09-04-08, 06:42 PM | #15 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 219 Thanks: 39 Thanked 24 Times in 24 Posts | BSN - AFC Telford Vs Redditch = 1-2 BSN - Alfreton Vs Redditch = 5-0 BSN - Redditch Vs Burscough = 2-2 BSN - Redditch Vs Hucknall = 1-1 BSN - Gainsborough Vs Redditch = 0 -0 BSN - Redditch Vs Workington = 4-1 FAC - Cambridge City Vs Redditch = 3-2 League Table: What a Month its been, 7 games and only one loss. At the beginning of the month I thought that the 5-0 win would be the first, game of the month, but the FA cup match against Cambridge City was a wonder match, the odds were against us but we went in front, they then went 2-1 in front and in the last 5 min it looked like we were out of the cup but then Law made it 2-2, he was offside but hey.. they all count, so I was thinking, replay at our place, were in with a shot and a little extra money when the ball falls to the feet of Josh Wright who hammers it into the top corner 4 minuites into Injury time. Next round we have non-league Hendon so thats an easy pass into next round, if the draw goes our way then we might reach 1st round. As for the league, if we finish 10 places lower than were we are now I'll be happy so it looks good for the rest of the season. We also made 4k this month so i'm really happy, by end of season i'm 40k in the clear plus whatever money I get for finish, looks good for future of club. Not bad for firt time with such a poor club. plz comment | | | | | 10-04-08, 02:01 AM | #16 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 132 Thanks: 18 Thanked 24 Times in 24 Posts | surely looking there m8.i've played against redditch and they're really crappy,so you've done a very good job so far. keep up th good form and you'r sure for a good season btw sorry to disappoint you but you dont get anything for your final position.this is the non-league m8... | Toumba...Don't you just love it?
