Board Expectations: Achieve a respectable position in the league. Media Expectation: Mid table finish. Your Expectations: UEFA Cup spot. League record: 4th, W18, D14, L6, F64, A46, GD+18, Pts 68. FA Cup: Winners. I defeated Portsmouth, West Ham United, Sheffield United, Arsenal, Manchester United & Manchester City on the way to winning the competition. League Cup: Semi-Finals. I defeated Hull City, Plymouth Argyle, Sunderland and Aston Villa before being defeated by Arsenal in the semi-finals. First XI start of season: Shay Given (c), Stephen Carr, Steven Smith, Steven Taylor, Joleon Lecott, James Milner, Damien Duff, Alan Smith, Belozoglu Emre, Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins. First XI end of season: Shay Given (c), Abdoulaye Faye, Steven Smith, Fabricio Coloccini, Joleon Lescott, James Milner, Charles N'Zogbia, Alan Smith, Joey Barton, Peter Crouch and Valeri Bojinov. Top Scorer: Michael Owen (23). Top Assister: James Milner (15). Fans Player Of The Year: Jame Milner. Your Player Of The Year: Joleon Lescott - Lescott hardly missed a game for me and he was a consistant performer, hardly ever having a bad game. Transfers In: Steven Smith (£3m from Rangers), Alex Fernandez (Free from Coslada), Joloen Lescott (£9m from Everton), Fabricio Coloccini (£7.5m from Deportivo), Valeri Bojinov (£6.26m from Man City), Peter Crouch (Loan from Liverpool). Best Buy: Valeri Bojinov - Filled the spot left by Owen really well. Was just 5 goals short of Michael's tally. Transfers Out: Mark Cook (Released), James Taylor (Released), Shola Ameobi (£4m to Tottenham), Darren Lough (£30k to Darlington), David Edgar (£1.6m to St. Etienne), Alex Fernandez (Loan to Bristol City), Stephen Carr (£650k to Aston Villa), Andy Carroll (£4m to Q.P.R), Michael Owen (£20m to Inter), Jose Enrique (£7.5m to West Ham). Best Sale: Michael Owen - I really wasn't expecting to get that much out of Inter so it turned out to be a good bit of business. Especially when Michael hit a bad patch and struggled to find the net. Reflection: Champions League football beckons the club for the first time since 2003 and the first trophy since 1969's UEFA Cup arrived at St. James' Park so all in all it's been a good season. Next season I'll be looking to bring in a new goalkeeper and a backup left back. Screenshots Premier League Table. FA Cup Final - Manchester City. Transfers. Newcastle United Squad. Shay Given's playing better this season as well. Last season he conceded 53 in 46 games. This season he's conceded 10 goals in 16 games. But there is a long way to go yet. | | | | 21-03-08, 04:39 PM | #13 (permalink) | | Touted as a new David Ginola: Im an FMF'er, Not a movie star Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: wiltshire Posts: 1,644 Thanks: 225 Thanked 367 Times in 345 Posts | I kow you're obviously a red, but maybe you could forward your CV to mike ashley and take over the reins at the Toon? I was going to do a story to accompany it but I thought that would take too long so I decided to just do a yearly report accompanied by screenshots. Oh and I have no idea why Spurs signed Ameobi. They used him a couple of times and now he's on the transfer list! | | | | 21-03-08, 05:09 PM | #17 (permalink) | | FMF DB Update Scout & FMF Police Chief Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Knaresborough Posts: 2,717 Thanks: 710 Thanked 233 Times in 192 Posts | Lmfao! Top Scorer: Valeri Bojinov (30). Top Assister: Charles N'Zogbia (15). Fans Player Of The Year: Valeri Bojinov. Your Player Of The Year: Shay Given - improved a hell of a lot from last season and didn't miss a single minute of our entire season! Great player and great captain. Transfers In: Domenico Criscito (£5.75m from Juventus), Peter Crouch (£7.5m from Liverpool), Micah Richards (£21.5m from Man City), David Bentley (£14m from Portsmouth). Best Buy: Javier Mascherano - Found him on the transfer list whilst searching for a DMC to replace the ageing Nicky Butt and somehow managed to get him for the knockdown price of £10m after Liverpool set an asking price of £14m. Transfers Out: Daniel Neary (Released), Frank Waife-Danquah (Released), Alex Patterson (Released), Callum Morris (Released), Fabio Zamblera (Released), Matthew Grieve (Released), James Marwood (Released), Mark Bertram (Released), Alan Smith (£6.75m to Aston Villa), Tamas Kadar (£140k to Q.P.R.), Mark Doninger (Free to Walsall), Peter Ramage (Free to Preston), Jonny Godsmark (£100k to Millwall), Alex Francis (Free to Stoke), Wesley Ngo Baheng (£140k to Stoke), Obafemi Martins (£14.75m to Inter), Geremi (£1.5m to West Brom), Patrick McLoughlin (£95k to Bristol City), Phil Robinson (Released), Mick Porter (£140K to Wolves). Best Sale: Geremi - I've been trying to sell him from the start of last season but to no avail then suddenly I get offered his value from WBA. I was certain I wasn't going to get £1m for him but I did. Reflection: I'm really chuffed that I managed to put in a good charge for the Champions League but I'm dissapointed that the Premier League title was out of my reach pretty early in the season. I was also disappointed to go out so early in the League Cup and I was expecting to reach, at least, the semi finals of the FA Cup. I really hope next season we can build on that and get closer to winning the league and actually win a trophy. Screenshots. Premier League Table. Champions League Final - FC Porto. Well done in the league, unlucky for not clinching the title! You must be gutted after coming unbelievably close to the Champs League, you need to shoot Crouch! Especially after you best United and Real and then lost to Porto! Hopefully you can push on next year to take the CL and the Prem!
