BEDFORD 1-1 Southampton Substitute Rayner grabs a late equaliser to give Bedford a point that maybe we didn't deserve. BEDFORD 0-6 Gillingham Bedford put in a shocking first half performance.... the end lol. Bad news it that influential midfielder M'Laab has broke his leg. Wigan 1-2 BEDFORD Substitutes Rayner and Anderson save Bedford the blushes of losing to the bottom side of the division. Preston 4-4 BEDFORD 0-0 at half time but eight goals in the second half produced an amazing game. Preston took the 2-0 lead before Bedford went 4-2 up... but Preston scored twice to give both teams a point. Bedford legend Carl Rayner (still only 24 in his 6th season with us when we got promoted to BSP) scores a fine hat-trick with Love getting the all important fourth goal. DECEMBER 2027 BEDFORD 3-0 Bradford Bedford make short work of Bradford with goals coming from Anderson, Rayner and an own goal. It really could have been so much more. Watford 2-3 BEDFORD Bedford produce a fantastic comeback from two goals down to beat Watford with a late injury time winner. Goals came from all three substitutes Stead, Love and Boakye. BEDFORD 1-1 Aston Villa Bedford maintain their unbeaten streak with a goal from love against fellow play-off hopefuls Villa. MK Dons 8-3 BEDFORD (TV) With five starting players ruled out and up against the runaway leaders, Bedford never stood a chance as Luptak scores five! Boakye, Love and Rayner give us some dignity... but this was a heavy heavy loss. A great game for the cameras though. BEDFORD 3-0 Norwich Bedford return to form with a great win over 4th placed Norwich with goals from Boakye (2) and Moland. Arsenal 2-0 BEDFORD Bedford play bravely and lose by only a small margin against 3rd placed Arsenal. So we've just passed the half way mark in the season... and somehow we're 8th! An amazing achievement seeing as just two seasons ago we were in League Two. What's encouraging is we have the 4th best attack in the league. Sadly though, 3rd worst defence. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. BEDFORD 3-6 Leicester Rayner and Boakye (2) give Bedford fans something to shout about... but we really need to improve this defence. Newcastle 6-4 BEDFORD ----- FA Cup Third Round No historic cup run this year as Newcastle find amd exploit our weakness... the defence. Love (2), Chambers and Anderson are on target to give us a bit of pride. Charlton 3-3 BEDFORD Both sides miss penalties as Bedford pick up their first point in January thanks to goals from Love and Boakye (2). Reading defender Dave Byrne joins on loan to sort out our defence. He also hints at a permanent deal. BEDFORD 2-2 Bury (TV) Salmon (pen) and Love get the goals but it's not enough and Bedford find the playoff fairytale sinking fast. Rhys Brown returns from his loan spell at Watford and will go straight in at right back for Bedford's next game. He's come on leaps and bounds since he went to Watford. FEBRUARY 2028 Huddersfield 3-4 BEDFORD A scorching injury time winner from loanee Gray sends the Bedford fans into raptures. Moland and Love put Bedford ahead before Huddersfield took a 3-2 lead. An own goal leveled the score before Gray struck the winner. BEDFORD 1-1 Blackpool Bedford really should have won this but we failed to take our chances. Boakye is on target for Bedford. Leeds 2-3 BEDFORD Rayner comes off the bench and scores a late injury time winner in a game that Bedford dominated. Love scored twice earlier in the game. Birmingham 1-4 BEDFORD Bedford run riot over the 10 men of Birmingham as Boakye and Love both hit the net twice. BEDFORD 1-0 Luton Boakye scores the only goal of the game to give Bedford another win. BEDFORD 4-2 Hull Love scores four times to fire Bedford firmly into the playoffs. It's his eighth goal in four games. Our performances of late have been amazing and the promotion fairytale is back on track. Also seems the award board noticed this as they gave me the manager of the month for February. MARCH 2028 QPR 5-1 BEDFORD Bedford's fantastic run ends as third placed QPR put on a fantastic display. Gray scores Bedford's only goal. Everton 0-6 BEDFORD Love (2), Boakye, Beresford (pen), Stead and Rayner are all on target to comfortably ease past Everton. BEDFORD 2-1 Sheff Wed Rayner scores yet another injury time winner after coming off the bench. Love had scored the earlier goal for Bedford. Southampton 1-1 BEDFORD Boakye scores for Bedford as they are held to a draw. BEDFORD 2-2 Wigan Love and Farrell (a rare appearance for him) get the goals as Bedford stumble against relegation battlers Wigan. Gillingham 1-4 BEDFORD Jack Anderson celebrates being called up to the England U19 squad by scoring a lovely goal. Moland, Boakye and Love score the other goals. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. I'm not sure how I managed to keep this going so long. I thought at the start of the Bedford game I was going to be close to the end. But the success I've had has just spurred me on... this is my 7th season and I've got them from BSN and £130pw wage budget... to the brink of the Premiership. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. BEDFORD 2-1 Preston A late own goal and a bullet of a free-kick from Gray were enough to give Bedford all three points. BEDFORD 1-1 Watford Watford get a late equalizer from the penalty spot after Love had put the home side ahead. Aston Villa 3-2 BEDFORD Love scores twice but it's not enough to beat fellow playoff hopefuls Villa. BEDFORD 1-0 MK Dons M'Laab comes off the bench to make his comeback from his broken leg and scores a scorcher to win the game against the runaway champions. It also seals the play-off spot!!!!! YES!!! It also means we'll get to play one last game at The New Eyrie before our stadium move. MAY 2028 Norwich 2-3 BEDFORD A poor performance from Bedford but we still win. Boakye and Love (2) score for Bedford after being 2-0 down. So it's Leicester we have in the playoffs and our results against them this year were two losses. 1-4 and 3-6... now's the time to turn it around. It's also the last time we will ever play at The New Eyrie. It's been a fortress over the years... so let's give it a hell of a send off. The chairman also accepts a 1.4m bid for keeper Leblanc from Stoke... who are in League One! He's valued at 1.3m... shocking. He accepts the contract. He's a goner! BEDFORD 0-0 Leicester The last game at The New Eyrie, and it wasn't a spectacular one. A bore draw. Leicester 4-2 BEDFORD Bedford put in a brave effort with two goals from Boakye... but it's not enough. It's another year in the Championship... no thanks to Leblanc, who conceded a goal from 50 yards. Anderson makes his debut in an England U19 shirt and scores both goals in a 2-0 win What a fantastic first season in the Championship. We definitely need to improve the squad if we want to get to the Premier League in our brand new stadium. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. Everyone packed their belongings from The New Eyrie and moved across town to the brand new Bedford Stadium, where everyone had a bigger and not rotting office. Also moving into Bedford were the following... Gauthier Dupont - another French defender coming from Sedan on a free. Darren McDiarmid - a former England U21 defender joining on a free from Bristol City. Jeroen Jansen - a talented Turkish international midfielder joining on a free from Birmingham. Walter Grossi - a former Italian U19 goalkeeper arriving from Catania on a free. Hugo Gomes - a former Portuguese U21 defensive midfielder from Chamois on a free. Nuno Silva - a former Portugal U19 midfielder on a free from Guingamp. Marco Domenghini - Italian winger from Perugia on a free. Zoumania Courteille - a deadly French striker from Bordeaux joining on a free. Romain Delahaye - a French midfielder from Sochaux... on a free again. Anthony Dupuis - A French left winger joining on a free from Metz. David Park - a former Scotland U21 striker joining from Hearts on a free. The bookies obviously believe in Bird as a manager to get Bedford promoted. Tottenham are favourites at 6-4, with Bedford just behind at 7-4, along with Millwall and Crystal Palace. But the main headline on the back pages is this one... BIRD THE GREAT DANE Bedford fans heartbeats skipped several beats today as the Danish FA announced their manager as the new Denmark international manager. Bird was quick to dispense any rumours of him leaving Bedford Stadium by stating he'd be staying at Bedford as well as managing Denmark in their bid to reach the 2030 World Cup in Holland. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. Sadly though it was Watford that scored the first ever league goal at Bedford Stadium. Nuno Silva scored a goal on his debut but the Bedford fans went home with heavy hearts. A poor display on their new home debut. BEDFORD 1-3 Watford After going 1-0 down early on, Cogoni netted from the penalty spot to bring Bedford back into the game. Love then bagged his first of the season, before Norwich leveled the score and then scored from the penalty spot to take all three points four minutes before full time, until.... DOMENGHINI!!!! The Italian Stallion scores a late late injury time equalizer to give us a point. Norwich 3-3 BEDFORD Damien Love scores twice as Bedford pick up their first victory at Bedford Stadium. BEDFORD 2-1 Brighton Courteille gets some much needed confidence by scoring a marvellous hat-trick. Boakye comes off the bench and scores a fourth for Bedford. AFC Wimbledon 1-4 BEDFORD (League Cup 1st Round) Beresford makes his first start of the season due to being at the Olympic Games. He makes an instant mark by scoring a penalty in the second minute. Everton go on the rampage and score five before half time. Courteille gets one back but that was still shocking. Everton 5-2 BEDFORD Jeroen Jansen makes his debut after missing out the start of the season due to injury. Love scores his 100th Bedford league goal to give Bedford the win. BEDFORD 1-0 Blackpool A fantastic footballing display from Bedford. It's been a while since we've played this well. Love, Domenghini and Courteille get theirselves on the scoresheet. Bolton 0-3 BEDFORD Another visit to the Reebok Stadium and another win. Nuno Silva and Courteille are on target to send Bedford into the third round. Bolton 0-2 BEDFORD (League Cup 2nd Round) SEPTEMBER 2028 A goal from Courteille gave Bedford a point in a game we didn't play very well. BEDFORD 1-1 Bradford First game in charge against the team one ranking below us; Germany. I call up a maximum of 26 players, but unable to call up two Denmark U21 players at this time. They'll definitely be in the next squad. Five of my players have never been capped, and there is only one good keeper. My gamble to have two centre backs with one cap between doesn't pay off. Substitute Stenderup scores his first international goal to claw one back. DENMARK 1-2 Germany Top of the table Palace demonstrate why they are top of the table with a fantastic first half performance. Bedford make one one of their infamous comebacks with goals from Courteille, sub Boakye (2) and Love.... before Palace knock in two late goals. Crystal Palace 5-4 BEDFORD A boring game but Huddersfield sneak it late on. This season is very mediocre. Huddersfield 1-0 BEDFORD Back to winning ways for Bedford as Courteille, Domenghini and Love all hit the net. BEDFORD 3-1 Birmingham Courteille and Boakye get the goals for Bedford but it was never going to be enough against the might of MK. MK Dons 3-2 BEDFORD (League Cup 3rd Round) That was possibly the worst performance I have ever witnessed. Beresford got our goal. Hereford 5-1 BEDFORD So that's the first two months of the new season and we lie in 14th. We're not looking too handy this year. Would you believe that in all my years at Bedford, I've never finished outside of a playoff position... it's true, but maybe this will be the first. 2021/22 --- 2nd BSN 2022/23 --- 3rd BSP 2023/24 --- 1st BSP 2024/25 --- 7th L2 2025/26 --- 1st L2 2026/27 --- 2nd L1 2027/28 --- 6th C'ship | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na.
