Holmes, Hartley and Read (his debut) with the goals. BEDFORD 2-1 Telford Reg Hulse makes his debut for the first team after an impressive season in the reserves and small spell at St Albans. He plays well, but it's Holmes and Booth that get the goals in yet another win to match the league record for most points (100). We have four games left to beat it. This is also the 29th game without losing in the league, which has taken us 22 points ahead of Grays. BEDFORD 2-1 Kettering Roberts and McPherson score as Bedford come from behind to beat Kettering and reach the 30 league games unbeaten milestone. Gateshead 1-1 BEDFORD Craig Young gets his first goal for the club in a draw against Gateshead. Make that 31 games unbeaten now, and 23 ahead. BEDFORD 2-0 Cambridge Rayner and Holmes score as Bedford seal yet another win to just further the proof of how much more class we have in comparison to the rest of the league. MAY Ebbsfleet 0-3 BEDFORD McPherson scores twice, and McCallum once as Bedford end a great season with a win, and to take their unbeaten record to an astonishing 33 games!!! Bedford end the season with 110 points... 26 ahead of Grays. I get Manager of the Season... of course. McPherson is top scorer with 37, gets most assists with 23 and most MOM with 12. Highest average rating goes to left winger Chris Roberts with 7.39, with McPherson just behind with 7.38 I'm shocked by the fans. We had on average 2340 see us last season... this number dropped by 800 in our promotion season! Here's some screenshots... NEWSFLASH... after impressive season, Kevin Beresford gets first Jamaican cap at 18, Adams also gets first Bermudan cap at 20. Arsenalfan - here you go :) Man Utd just got relegated from the Premiership. They'll be playing Rochdale next season. Birmingham also got into the Championship playoffs... only to be docked 10 points for going into admin 4 hours after the final whistle LOL. Last edited by BirdyFC; 24-03-08 at 04:13 PM. Cowdenbeath have been relegated twice to Div3 :( 19th June... best day of the year though. Major changes! Bedford have become a professional club for the first time in their history. Rushden link has been terminated (same league), and now Motherwell are our parent club :) I've chosen to avoid relegation as a target (predicted 24th) which has given me wage budget of 12.3k and transfer of 0 again. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. You've played 17 seasons? Just WOW!!! Just one question:do the scores get higher as the game goes on?Cause the highest scoring team in my season was Aldershot with 67 goals including the playoffs and I see that 6 teams in your division have scored over 100 goals... Man U relegated???At last the Football God has shown the way... GL on your league adventures!I'm sure you can get Bedford in the Premiership Last edited by Akenatwn; 24-03-08 at 01:55 PM. | | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Akenatwn For This Useful Post: | | 24-03-08, 02:01 PM | #68 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 335 Thanks: 84 Thanked 46 Times in 43 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Well Done on becoming Pro Whats the capacity of the New Eyrie? Yeah I hope so too Wozza. I really think my team is capable of it and made even more signings again and I reckon it's possible. So do the media... 12-1 for promotion :D More on my transfer market soon. Akena- GL with your Kettering game. Hope we both survive. I'm really not sure on that. It seems that way but I think it has just been the BSP as none of the other leagues seem to. Dorchester inparticular were goalfests. Brad- The New Eyrie holds 3000... only 300 seated lol. Also, just changed the Prem screenshot in last post as uploaded the wrong one. Or if you're too lazy... | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. They're back to their glory days. Pick of the new signings... John Gamble - DC from West Brom (loan) Keith Stewart - good left winger Paul Farrell - leading L1 AMC (injured atm) Richard Godfrey - new keeper Tom Stead - centre midfielder Jamie Chambers - DRC from Reading (loan) And the following players have left us.... Lovegrove (150k), Saunders (18k), Ricketts (12k), Mulholland (8k), Dennis (8k) AUGUST Chester 2-2 BEDFORD A not full strength side for Bedford looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights in the first half but give a better performance in the second half with Booth making the adaption to L2 in style bagging both goals. BEDFORD 1-3 Dag & Red ------ League Cup 1st Round Bedford's first ever League Cup game and against a L1 side. Nearly a packed house too which is a good sign. It was always going to be tough though and it was. Stead scores his first goal for Bedford though. Shrewsbury 0-2 BEDFORD A Rayner goal and an own goal give Bedford their first win of the campaign. Loanee Gamble gives away his second penalty in two league games, but Rory Taylor more than a match for it. BEDFORD 0-2 Tranmere Our first league loss in so long. It actually feels gutting, but I think I might have to get used to this. BEDFORD 2-2 Barnet Rayner and McPherson get the goals as Bedford get another point in the league. So there's my first month in League Two football and we're in 12th. It is very tough but I think we can definitely survive. It's early days yet, but I don't think we'll be this high up for long. Had a long career with four clubs. If you read the first post, that summarises my first 11 seasons :) My tip would be to look at contracts that are expired or players that are unattached. You can make great signings this way for free. Tactics wise, I just plump for a simple 4-4-2 and limit my defenders creative freedom so they stay back and let the midfield and attack just go for goal. Simplicity seems to work well in lower league. Brad - Yup, just Middlesbrough. They've been in L2 for a few years now and sometimes struggle. Bolton nearly came down to L2 but survived relegation. SEPTEMBER BEDFORD 2-2 Peterborough (L1) ----- JPT South 1st Round Goals from McPherson and Booth took the game to penalties after being 1-0 down at half time. The match went to penalties, and a miss from Peterborough and a fantastic save from Godfrey sent Bedford through 4-2 on penalties. WOO! lol Oldham 2-0 BEDFORD 10 man Bedford can't continue from their fantastic cup game in midweek and slump to their second defeat in the league. BEDFORD 1-2 Notts County A quite even game against the 100% win record league leaders ends with away side taking all three points. McPherson gets the goal for the home side. Hartlepool 2-1 BEDFORD A change of tactic at half time turns Bedford into a totally different team with Rayner scoring the goal. It's not enough though, but certainly a sign we can turn this form around. Doncaster 1-5 BEDFORD This year's newly promoted sides from the BSP meet and it's the champions who come out on top. Rayner (2), Stead, Booth and Holmes score in a stunning performance. There's hope for us yet. BEDFORD 3-3 Swansea Rayner and fan favourite McPherson (2) score as Bedford are robbed of a third win. A very poor September, but with a change of tactic we end it with some positives. We need to sort out the amount of goals we concede though. We're now in 17th place :) OCTOBER BEDFORD 2-1 Scunthorpe Bedford are now unbeaten in three as McPherson and Beresford are on target in front of a near sell out at The New Eyrie. BEDFORD 3-0 Darlington No stopping Bedford at the moment as McPherson bags two (now 5 goals in 3 games) while Booth makes it a comfortable win 5 minutes from time. Wolves 2-2 BEDFORD ----- JPT South 2nd Round After going in at the break 2-0 down despite a brave performance, it looked like Bedford wouldn't be causing any cup shocks. But two goals in two minutes just after HT from McPherson and Jones drew Bedford level and looked like the team who could steal it. And so for the second time in the JPT, Bedford take a L1 side to penalties. Bedford lose 4-2 on penalties. A stunning result though, and a great second half performance. Leigh Jones gets his first cap for Wales :D Bit annoyed about the next game though. Match was postponed from the Saturday because Taylor and Jones were on international duty... which they're still on. Seems a pointless postponement. AFC Wimbledon 2-4 BEDFORD Despite going 2-0 down and two players on international duty, Bedford produce a fantastic fight back with goals from Beresford, Farrell (his first goal for Bedford) and Booth (2). BEDFORD 0-0 Chesterfield An even game at The New Eyrie ends with both sides taking a point. Swindon 3-3 BEDFORD Bedford's unbeaten run continued as they came from behind twice to grab a point. Goals came from McPherson (2) and Booth. Now we're talking... unbeaten in 7 games now and we've hauled ourselves up to 11th and just 3 points shy of a playoff place. Despite having an average attendance of 2925 (out of 3000), we still have the lowest attendance by far. I think a stadium expansion may be order. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na.
