John Boakye scored his 15th goal of the season as a consolation for the home side. BACKS AGAINST THE WALL 2 Millwall 0 Bedford Bedford now have a massive fight on their hands to survive as they drop into the relegation zone on for the first time all year, albeit on goal difference. Chris Bird's players will have to find that extra something in their last three games now as they have to play Charlton and Aston Villa (2nd and 3rd) and the most important game of the three, Newcastle, whom are also in the relegation zone. BIRD: WE NEED TO BEAT NEWCASTLE 0 Bedford 2 Aston Villa After a loss against promotion chasing Aston Villa, Bird's first comments was to make sure the side beat the already effectively relegated Newcastle. JACK'S IT! 0 Newcastle 1 Bedford England U21 Jack Anderson scored the crucial goal which could keep Bedford in the Championship next season. It also means that Newcastle return to League One. May 2029 And so the relegation fight goes to the last week of the season with the final relegation place between Blackpool and Bedford. Bedford have 3rd placed Charlton while Blackpool host 10th place Huddersfield. Bedford also have the upper hand of being two points ahead but a worse goal difference by one. It really could go either way.... I need that luck now. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. Vestergaard, Sehmus and Fabricius got a goal each. DANES DENTED 3 Germany 2 Denmark The Danish hopes of reaching the World Cup took a massive blow yesterday as Germany narrowly defeated them 3-2. Rene Andersen came off the bench to grab both goals for Denmark but a late goal from Germany sealed the win. BIG CHANGES AT BEDFORD After a poor season and nearly getting relegated, Chris Bird has ordered massive changes to be made at Bedford Stadium. The stadium itself will be increased by a further 6579 seats, while the training and youth facilities will also be improved. Bird has also had a change in his backroom staff, replacing one coach, one physio and two scouts. As well as this, he has added another fitness coach to the staff list. The link with Motherwell has also been terminated, and Premier League side Ipswich Town have announced a new partnership. Bird has also had a clear out of his playing staff with the following departures: Leigh Jones > Bristol City (Free) Jamie Chambers > Crewe (Free) Keith Rigg > Hearts (Free) Tom Stead > Stockport (Free) Nuno Silva > P Ferreira (Free) Donato Cogoni > Frosinone (Free) Tore Moland > Wigan (100k) Romain Delahaye > Bury (100k) Keith Stewart > Bury (30k) David Park > Swindon (100k) Anthony Dupuis > Dijon (100k) Despite the long list of departures, Bird has kept his signings to a minimum this summer with only the following arrivals: Franck Courtin. A France U21 defender from Lens on a free. Victor Sendra. A goalkeeper signed on a free from Atletico Madrid. Raffaele Marchegiani (loan from Ipswich) Vladimir Hruska. 15yr old Czech talent from Slavia Prague for 22k. PRE-SEASON REPORT Willebroek 1-3 Bedford Cheshunt 1-1 Bedford Bedford 4-2 Roma (TV) Bedford looked impressive in pre-season and look even better going forward than normal despite no changes to the starting line-up as yet. Victor Sendra was ruled out with injury so it is not yet seen to how good he is in goal. Rumours are still circulating that manager Chris Bird is still looking for a centre back and a left back to tighten up the defence before the end of the transfer window. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. BIRD MAKES ANOTHER SIGNING Bedford fans woke up to a shock striker signing this morning as they unveiled Jiri Cizek from Slavia Prague for a mere 2k. Despite his value, the Czech player has a fantastic scoring rate and could be the biggest bargain of the transfer window. September 2029 BEDFORD RUE MISSED PENALTY 0 Bedford 0 Huddersfield Bedford's finishing was terrible this afternoon as they just couldn't hit the target to see off Huddersfield. Kevin Beresford will especially be kicking himself after skying a penalty. ESTONIA FINALLY LOSE 3 Denmark 1 Estonia Denmark kept their qualification hopes alive and handed Estonia their first defeat of the group stages thanks to goals from Klavs Stenderup, Rene Andersen and Lasse Johansson. Group B is now wide open with four teams chasing qualification with three fixtures remaining. DANES OUT! 2 Belgium 1 Denmark Belgium produced a fantastic comeback to destroy Denmark's chance of qualification. Klavs Stenderup had put the Danes ahead, but they now will not qualify. Sad lol. October 2029 BEDFORD DRAW 2 Millwall 2 Bedford Bedford don't seem to have the edge they used to for scoring winners. Whether that is the absence of Damien Love due to an injury is another question. Courteille and Anderson score for Bedford. JIRI-O 0 Bedford 1 Hereford Jiri Cizek was sent off for Bedford after coming off the bench. This inevitably cost Bedford the game. DESTROYER DANES 6 Denmark 0 Luxembourg Ahmet Sehmus and Klavs Stenderup both bag a hat-trick as Denmark win a game without much meaning. A great performance though. QUALIFIERS OVER 2 Slovenia 2 Denmark Ahmet Sehmus and Klavs Stenderup both scored as the final whistle blew on the World Cup qualifiers. PALMER TO BEDFORD Striker Steven Palmer has joined on loan from Ipswich. BEDFORD STUN PALACE 3 Crystal Palace 4 Bedford In what was one of the most dramatic games of the season, Crystal Palace drew level on three separate occasions only for Bedford to snatch the game in injury time. Sylvain Cisse had put them ahead with a flukey effort, while Zoumana Courteille bagged a fantastic hat-trick! GOALFEST AT BEDFORD 5 Bedford 6 West Brom Despite scoring five goals and nearly making one of the greatest comebacks in football, Bedford still lost due to their hapless defence. Courteille scored another hat-trick, with Domenghini and Cizek also scoring for Bedford. BEDFORD ANNIHILATE PRESTON 1 Preston 6 Bedford Bedford put on a fantastic first half display to annihilate Preston at Deepdale. Goals came from Jansen (2), Cizek (2), and Courteille (2). Well it hasn't been a bad season so far... not great, but we've definitely had some great results and our defence in general has improved except for a few bad games. Somehow though we find ourselves in 10th and just three points outside the play-offs. My player of the season so far is Zoumana Courteille. That's eight goals in the last three games. | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na. Goals came from Damien Love and Zoumana Courteille. Zoumana Courteille had put in another strong performance as he scored both goals. Zoumana Courteille (2) and Stephen Whyte were on target for the home side. BACK ON FORM 2 Arsenal 4 Bedford Bedford returned to winning ways against Arsenal thanks to goals from Jack Anderson, Raffaele Marchegiani and a late double from substitutes Damien Love and Jiri Cizek. January 2030 Bedford sign a young trio from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of 10k overall. HOLY MOLY 1 Bedford 1 Sheff Wed Damien Love put Bedford ahead in this fixture, but Sheffield Wednesday left it to injury time to equalise against the ten man Bedford through Miroslav Holy. Shame you threw it away against Everton though. You're doing really, really well. You might not catch up with Albion but you can easily finish 2nd and gain automatic promotion. You are only 1 point behind Blackburn and Everton after all, lol. Can you post a screenshot of the current Premier League table as well mate. I'd love to see who's in it.
