I already have that super signing... Damien Love. The 20yr old former left back... who is just eight goals short of taking the top league goalscorer for Bedford. And only 20!!! | | | | 28-06-08, 04:51 PM | #162 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Hungary Posts: 29 Thanks: 5 Thanked 4 Times in 4 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Nice results there! It doesn't matter though as he scores for fun with a fine hat-trick! Domenghini and Love get the other goals in what was a much better performance. BEDFORD 5-2 Hull I'm getting used to poor performances recently and that was one of them. Just shooting from anywhere and going wide. Very poor result and we have table toppers Belgium next. Estonia 1-0 DENMARK Denmark drop 12 places to 23rd in the World Rankings. I'm just glad there's no Danes in Bedford. The positives are we were the better side but we just can't find the back of the net. A point's a start though. DENMARK 0-0 Belgium An even game but we could just not hit the back of the net... and Southampton could. Southampton 3-0 BEDFORD Zzzzzzzzzzzzz BEDFORD 0-0 Sheff Wed Bedford shock Spurs who'd only lost once and conceded a mere 10 before today. Courteille (2), Love and Beresford (pen) are the scorers. Spurs 2-4 BEDFORD Damien Love (2), Nuno Silva and Marco Domenghini get the goals as Bedford chart up another win. Preston 3-4 BEDFORD A not so bad month for Bedford. Up to 11th Might try a different way to update from next month with newspaper style write-ups. Maybe. | | | | 28-06-08, 05:49 PM | #164 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Devon, England Posts: 9 Thanks: 0 Thanked 3 Times in 2 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Looks good mate, how many times United won the prem then? Have they suddenly become a footballing super power in these advanced years? Harsh against Southampton by the way. Shame they were a little more lethal in front of goal and the Sheffield Wednesday game must've been very exciting. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to liveru For This Useful Post: | | 29-06-08, 10:43 AM | #166 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 981 Thanks: 259 Thanked 202 Times in 196 Posts Nominated 2 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Ru, trust me, with sheffield wednesday, thats pretty much as exciting as it gets, unless your the opposition. lol KUTGW Chris | Read the Story of Joshua Darling, the new star of English Football. Exeter are still in the BSP. They've been relegated twice but always bounced straight back with a play-off win. Ru - I have no idea how I lost that lol, but they are one hell of a rise in the rankings. In September, they were 89th and now two months later... 55th! They also drew with Germany. Wozza - Kightly no longer in my game, but I researched his history a bit. Went to Forest, then Birmingham and then was released so no idea where he went after that. Also Wolves are top of L2 btw. | | | | 30-06-08, 01:38 PM | #169 (permalink) | | What Fed can do with a grape, I can't do with a beach ball! Daniel Spence scored the best of the three goals with a fantastic effort from 30 yards. SUPER SEHMUS 1 Mexico 3 Denmark Young AaB striker Ahmet Sehmus was on fine form as Denmark produced a fantastic display to beat the much fancied Mexico in yesterday's friendly. Sehmus scored twice, while left back Bjarne Simonsen scored from the penalty spot to complete the scoring. NOT FAB-RICIUS 1 Bulgaria 1 Denmark Midfielder Thomas Fabricius did nothing to help his cause for a start in Chris Bird's Denmark side as he came off the bench and got sent off. Denmark legend Rene Olsen scored his 40th international goal on his 70th cap to give Denmark a draw in this friendly. BEDFORD STRUGGLE ON 1 Bedford 1 Wigan Jeroen Jansen went from hero to zero as he scored from the penalty spot to give Bedford the lead, only to be sent off early in the second half. Courteille had to be subbed off early on after taking a heavy knock to the face and could miss the next few games. HAS BIRD LOST IT? 2 Leeds 1 Bedford Bedford fans must be wondering has their miracle worker of a manger has lost his sparkle as they finish November with only one point from a possible nine leaving them in 14th place and nine points away from the play-offs. Love got Bedford's only goal as they lost to promotion hopefuls Leeds. December 2028 FIXED! 0 Bedford 2 Millwall Bedford manager Chris Bird was clearly upset after his side slipped to another defeat. The home side were denied two penalties, while Millwall got a dubious penalty decision awarded. After the game Bird said the referee was visibly weak and caved into the pressure from the Millwall players. The FA last night handed Bird a touchline ban for his comments. VILLA VICTORIOUS 4 Aston Villa 2 Bedford Bedford continued their awful form with a crushing defeat at Villa Park. Damien Love and John Boakye scored Bedford's goals and were trying to find a way back until Tom Stead got his marching orders. LOVE-LY JUBBLY 5 Bedford 3 Newcastle No fewer than eight goals were scored today at Bedford Stadium with six coming in the first half hour. But it's Damien Love who takes today's headlines, as he became the all time top league goalscorer for Bedford just before his 21st birthday, after scoring a fine hat-trick. John Boakye and Cedric M'Laab also got on the scoresheet as Bedford finally got a win. Fact: Damien Love has scored his 112 league goals in 137 starts and 27 sub appearances. He's also had 54 assists and taken home 30 match balls. Love is also an established cup scorer with 23 goals in 24 starts and 4 sub appearances. MORE BLUES FOR BEDFORD 4 Charlton 1 Bedford Charlton destroyed Bedford yesterday as the promotion hopefuls just blitzed past the leaky defence of Bedford too many times. Zoumana Courteille got a late consolation goal but Bedford will have to improve soon or face a potential relegation fight. YOU'RE OFF! 3 Watford 2 Bedford Central defender Gauthier Dupont was yellow carded twice within nine minutes of coming off the bench. The Frenchman's performances have been less than impressive and it now looks like manager Chris Bird will show him the door in January. Love and Courteille managed to bring home a little consolation as they score to keep the scoreline down. PRESSURE BUILDING ON BIRD 2 Brighton 2 Bedford Bedford are still struggling and find themselves just seven points clear of relegation. They've now only managed 5 points from the last nine games. LOVE BUT NO LUCK 1 Bedford 2 Norwich Damien Love got on the scoresheet for Bedford but it was Norwich who took the three points as Bedford hope the new year brings some new luck. So there's the end of 2028 and I'm glad that's over. We're 17th and just 4 points clear of relegation. What also takes the biscuit is Domenghini was the Championship player of the month. | | | | 04-07-08, 02:27 PM | #171 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Bur Dubai Posts: 399 Thanks: 130 Thanked 95 Times in 95 Posts Nominated 4 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | A few bad results towards the end there, but well done so far. Vispi and Williams (valued 2.1m) are the two that have joined and will make their debuts against Everton. I would have brought defenders in but no money or gems I can get for free. TORE-IFFIC 1 Bedford 1 Everton Despite being well down the pecking order at Bedford, manager Chris Bird gave him a chance to redeem himself at left back yesterday. And he repaid his manager by putting in a fine performance and scoring the second half equaliser. MAREK-ULOUS 0 Bedford 2 Arsenal (FA Cup Third Round) Jarolslav Marek was on fine form as he scored both goals to send underachieving Bedford out of the FA Cup. Some fans and pundits are wondering are Bird's days at Bedford numbered? THEY JUST CAN'T WIN 4 Blackpool 4 Bedford Despite putting in one of their best performances of recent months and scoring four goals (Courteille 2, Love and Domenghini), Bedford just can't win as their leaky defence just lets in every attack thrown at them. FINALLY!! 4 Bedford 1 Bolton Despite the win being against bottom side Bolton, manager Chris Bird seemed delighted with the result nonetheless. Jansen, Williams, Boakye and Anderson got the goals as fans will now hope they can start to re-climb up the league. LUCKY BRADFORD WIN 2 Bradford 1 Bedford Despite Bedford looking a lot more confident since their win, Bradford somehow managed to edge the game to send home Bedford with nothing which was a harsh result. A hardly impressive month but it's an improvement. The focus will have to change to next year now. | | | | 05-07-08, 07:21 PM | #174 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: May 2006 Location: Near Colchester, Essex Posts: 651 Thanks: 183 Thanked 117 Times in 115 Posts Nominated 2 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Feb 2029 PALACE HEAD FOR PROMOTION 3 Bedford 6 Crystal Palace Crystal Palace continued in their title bid yesterday as they made easy work of struggling Bedford with striker Marsiglia netting five times. James Williams and Zoumana Courteille (2) gave Bedford some hope with three goals but they now are falling towards a relegation fight. STUNNING SEHMUS 6 Denmark 1 Ireland (Friendly) Danish fans finally got behind manager Chris Bird last night after they demolished Ireland 6-1 in a friendly game. Man of the match Ahmet Sehmus scored a marvelous hat-trick to firmly put himself as first choice striker for Bird's World Cup qualifying campaign. Nicolai Pedersen also found the net with a neat finish and both Kim Eriksen and Dan Hansen converted from the penalty spot to round off the scoring. TIME RUNNING OUT FOR BIRD 1 Bedford 2 Huddersfield Nothing seems to be going right for Bedford this year and now it seems the whole side is lacking in confidence and commitment. Zoumana Courteille still managed to give the home fans something to cheer about but they still end up with nothing. LOVE ISN'T IN THE AIR 3 Birmingham 1 Bedford As Valentine's Day approaches tomorrow, fans are starting to question Damien Love's recent performances. The striker hasn't found the net for a month and made some horrible misses against Birmingham. Boakye was on the scoresheet for Bedford as they left with nothing again. BIRD: RELEGATION COULD BE THE REALITY 1 Bedford 1 Hereford With twelve games to go, Bedford hoist themselves three points clear of relegation as the reality of relegation becomes quite visible. John Boakye gets Bedford's goal. BIRD ON HIS WAY? 2 Hull City 1 Bedford Rumours have begun to circulate that manager Chris Bird might be looking for a new challenge at the end of the season after yet another loss in the league. Damien Love finally returned to scoring form but it was still not enough. Mar 2029 THREE-MAN 2 Bedford 4 Southampton Southampton sriker Brian Freeman scored a fantastic hat-trick to pile the pressure on Bedford. Love and Park managed to claw back two goals but it wasn't enough as Bedford scramble for points for survival. Breaking news this evening is Chelsea have sacked manager Paul Ince after he's had no wins since January the 1st, and the team lay in 15th. Chris Bird is the bookie's favourite to take the job... but what does everyone think I should do? | | | | 05-07-08, 07:34 PM | #175 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 682 Thanks: 153 Thanked 134 Times in 132 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | You have got quite a tough choice there mate. It won't be enough unless they start getting the edge to win games. BETTER BY BEDFORD (Part 2) 2 Bedford 2 Tottenham Yet again, Bedford are slowly improving and got a fantastic point against runaway leaders Tottenham and maybe could have done the double over them. John Boakye and an own goal by Viliam Slovak (he's Slovakian as well) gave Bedford the point after going 2-0 down. BEDFORD WIN... NO, REALLY! 0 QPR 3 Bedford Bedford actually won... and won by a terrific margin of three goals to nil! Goals came from Boakye, Domenghini and a penalty from Beresford. Manager Bird was said to be delighted with the result and hoped this would be the turning point. WIGAN STEAL WIN 3 Wigan 2 Bedford After leading 2-1 with ten minutes to go through goals from Love and Anderson, Bedford's win was stolen away from them with two late goals from Wigan. The Danish number one keeper will miss the next qualifier due to an injury leaving manager Bird with no decent keeper at all. DANES KICK START QUALIFYING CAMPAIGN 0 Luxembourg 3 Denmark Denmark finally got their first World Cup Qualifier victory as they beat group whipping boys Luxembourg 3-0. Goals came from midfielders Bo Hansen and Kim Eriksen, while striker Rasmus Vestergaard completed the scoring with his first international goal. UNCONVINCING DANES WIN 0 Hong Kong 2 Denmark (Friendly) Danes will be hoping this was just a bad day at the office for the national side as they unconvincingly beat Hong Kong with goals from Rene Andersen and Ahmet Sehmus. Pundits had predicted a goalfest for the Danish strikers. RELEGATION BATTLE HOTS UP 2 Bedford 2 Preston In what could be highly decisive in this season's relegation battle, Bedford and Preston could only manage a draw with one another. Both sides will kick themselves for not grabbing the extra points and will have to refocus for their final five games with five points seperating five sides for two relegation spots. Damien Love and John Boakye were on the scoresheet for Bedford. | | | | 06-07-08, 04:04 PM | #180 (permalink) | | What Fed can do with a grape, I can't do with a beach ball!
