My intention is to take them up the leagues, and hopefully eventually into the Prem, and maybe even the Champions League one day! I thought the best chance of bringing in new players was to look to the Prem for possible loan signings, as I only had a 250k budget. I managed to sign 3 Premiership players on loan, Fraizer Campbell and Febian Brandy from Man Utd and Jamie O'Hara from Spurs. I knew that these were potentially great signings because Campbell has been doing great at Hull in real life, and O'Hara has recently broken into the Spurs' side and has done a good job. Brandy, on the other hand has been doing well in the United youth team. I picked up all 3 players on 3 month loans. I did a bit of scouting in France, and my scout picked up on a left winger from Grenoble Foot, Lionel Mallien, who I managed to secure for 14k, after my assistant manager said he should be regarded as a definite purchase. Transfers Tactics I had a mixed pre season, and I won games against Longford, Forest Green and Livingston. I managed draws in home ties with Chelsea Reserves and Sheffield United. I lost my unbeaten run in my final game, a 3-0 home loss to Aberdeen. I had high expectations for my side, and so did the bookies. I was the sixth favourite to take the League 2 Title, and win promotion to League 1, with odds of 5-1. I went into my first game against Shrewsbury full of confidence, knowing that it would be a tricky game, but I truly believed that my side could pick up 3 points. It was a tense game, which was level at half time, but I managed to see off the threat of Shrewsbury, rounding off a 4-1 victory, with Fraizer Campbell getting all four goals! Looks like I did some good work in the transfer market! Peterborough4-1Shrewsbury I will update this whenever I feel necessary! I also think i am happy with my current squad, so I might look in January! I had a tricky League Cup First Round tie, away to Millwall of League One. I knew it was going to be a very challenging clash, and was at most expecting to take the tie into extra time. I told my players that they had the ability to win the tie, but in the end they didn't have enough to pull it off. However, I was proud with my side because they gave it a good effort and in the end we were unlucky to lose, because my centre back was sent off before half time. I have given Coslada the 32 shirt and hopefully he does well for me! I released youth striker Jack Lyons to make way for Fernandez, and to limit competition for positions. I now have 4 strikers at the club, all of who are aged 20 or younger. I have Rene Howe, 20, Fraizer Campbell 19, Febian Brandy 18, and now Alex Fernandez, 19. I have placed Fernandez in attack alongside Campbell, with Brandy dropping to the bench. Here is my new look side: New Tactics Since my last update, I have played two games in the league. In the first game I lost at home to Wycombe, and my star midfielder George Boyd was injured for 2 months. In my next game I played bottom side Bury and won 2-0 away from home, with Fraizer Campbell getting both goals. My record so far in the league this season is two wins, and a loss, with Fraizer Campbell scoring all 6 of my goals, I currently lie in a play-off spot in the table, in 5th place. Fraizer Campbell picked up player of the month for August, further indicating how great a signing he was! I faced a tricky tie in the league away to Mansfield Town, who were occupying 2nd place in the table. Alex Fernandez scored on his debut after Fraizer Campbell had scored his 7th goal of the season. This victory moved me up to 2nd place in the table, with 9 points from a possible 12 in the four games I have played. My next fixture was a potentially tricky one, with a Johnstone's Paint Trophy Round 1 tie away to Barnet at Underhill. It was a good game, which in the end was settled by an Alex Fernandez double, after 2 Fraizer Campbell assists. They are looking like fantastic signings so far, thanks for recommending Alex Fernandez! The first game was a game I was hoping to win at home to Wrexham. Things were going to plan when Aaron McLean put me 1-0 up early in the second half. However, 7 minutes later Wrexham equalised and eventually the game finished 1-1. My next game was a repeat of my Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie, away to Barnet. I took the lead with a Jamie O' Hara goal in the first half, but this was cancelled out by a goal on the stroke of half time by Kelvin Etuhu, who is on loan from Man City. Etuhu doubled his tally in first half stoppage time with a penalty, to leave the half time score at 2-1. We got back into the game 10 minutes into the second half, when my top scorer, Fraizer Campbell, scored. There were no further goals until the last 5 minutes, when 2 goals from Campbell, and one from McLean, settled the tie, leaving me with a 5-2 away victory. Barnet2-5Peterborough The result left me top of the table for the first time in the season, and I believed that the key to winning the league would be to seal permanent deals for my loan signings, who have been in great form this season. I have had 3 games since my convincing win at Barnet, all of which came in the league. A 3-0 home win against Macclesfield, and consecutive 2-1 away victories at Stockport and Accrington Stanley. These results leave me top of the League 2 table, 5 points clear of Shrewsbury and Notts County. I managed to scoop up a couple of awards for September, most notably the manager of the month award. Campbell won Young Player Of The Month, with Alex Fernandez coming third. Meanwhile, Campbell came second in Player Of The Month. Campbell has scored 13 goals this season, Alex Fernandez has 6, Jamie O'Hara and Aaron McLean both have 2 and central defender Claude Gnakpa has scored once. Manager Of The Month September I started October poorly, with a shock 3-1 home defeat to Hereford. I lost the game due to two dubious penalties, and Alex Fernandez scored my goal, with Fraizer Campbell injuredl. Josh Low and Aaron McLean both got injured in this match, which now leaves me with 5 first team players out injured. These players are Claude Gnapka, Fraizer Campbell, George Boyd, Josh Low and Aaron McLean. However all of these except for Josh Low, look set to return soon. All the players have picked up recent injuries, except for Boyd who has been out on the sidelines for around 2 months now. The main tragedy however, was the loss of my loan players Fraizer Campbell, Jamie O' Hara and Febian Brandy. I tried renewing the loans of all 3 players but under FA rules it was impossible to loan a player from the same nation for more than 3 months in 1 season. I am currently negotiating with Man Utd to sign Campbell permanently, because with 13 goals in 11 games, he will leave a huge hole in my team. If he completes a move, he will join up with the squad in January, when the transfer window reopens. I have managed to secure a permanent deal for Jamie O'Hara, who will sign in January for free, because he is under the age of 24 and I offered him a greater contract than the one he was on. Picked myself up for my first game without any of my loan signings, an away match against Luton of League 1, in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I didn't expect to get anything from the match, and I started Rene Howe up front in Campbell's place, for his first game of the season. Howe marked the game with 2 goals, which added to an Alex Fernandez brace, to give me a shock 4-1 away victory! The 26 year old will join in February when his loan spell at FC Kaunas expires. The draw has been made aswell for the quarter finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. As the lowest ranked side left in the competiton, I knew that any draw was going to be tricky, but I was full of confidence after my 4-1 thrashing of Luton in the previous round. I managed to secure an away tie with Leyton Orient, of League 1. Results League Table My next fixture is against top of the table Notts County and I have been boosted massively because I have managed to secure the permanent signing of Fraizer Campbell on a 2 year contract. Campbell scored 13 goals for me during a loan spell earlier in the season, and he joins on a free transfer because he is under the age of 24, and Manchester United were not willing to offer him a renewed, better contract. I had to release a few players to make wages available for Campbell, but I decided that it was definitely worth it. My squad is looking to be near to the force it was before this awful streak, with O’Hara returning in January and the prospect of the arrival of Deividus Cesnaulskis to look forward to in February. I now feel, that with Campbell back in the side, we can easily push for promotion and regain the form we had before his departure. New Look Squad Fraizer Campbell sent my fans into raptures with an immense performance against top of the table Notts County, to end my winless streak, which started when Campbell's loan spell ended. Campbell scored 2 and got an assist, to complete a 3-0 victory which puts me back up to 3rd in the table! I lost 2-1 away to Chester in the league, although they got a dubious penalty and I had a goal disalowed. Fraizer Campbell scored for me in that game. That dropped to 9th in the table, 3 points off the top, meaning that 3 points separated the top 11. Look at this, it's mental!! League 2 Standings I then faced a potentially tricky home time in the FA Cup first round against League 1's Bristol Rovers. The game was eventually settled by a Fraizer Campbell goal in the 70th minute, and I now face a home tie at either Gateshead or Grimsby in the 2nd round. My next game was another important fixture, in the Quarter Final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Leyton Orient are in the league above me, and so I expected little from the game. However, things went differently to my expectations, and I won the game 3-0 with an Alex Fernandez hatrick. Fernandez got injured later in the game, but fortunately he is only out for 2 weeks.
