Pre-Season - touted as relegation candidates and a 23rd place finish in league 2 - it was time for a miracle to be worked with a mere 7k transfer budget Players IN: Permanent Deals Alex Fernandez - Coslada - Free Scott Donnelly - Free Owen Price - Free Sean Evans - Man Utd - 5k Malky Mackay - 5k Loan Deals: Jack hobbs - Liverpool - Season Long Damien Plessis - Liverpool - Season Long Jay Spearing - Liverpool - Season Long Players Out: Peter Cavanagh - maccelsfield - 14k and then...    and now hopefully ill get manager of the year, get a bigger transfer budget, and alex fernandez will stay instead of going to man utd :( but yay :)

Indeed a very nice season. You finished on the 1st place with 1 point more than the 2nd place. Was it already decided on the last match round or was is still a thriller on who would win the title?

thanks, last match was great i needed to draw to win the title and i eneded up losing to wrexham 1-0 but bradford conceded a late goal and they drew too

i know, score 5 goals in pre-season friendly, and then then next game he missed 3 sitters!!! but anyway, im back from a week-long fm break and am done pre-season, transfers and current squad for next season below: transfers:  squad:  and im predicted to finish 24th in league 1, i told my board i would get a safe mid-table position - but im hoping that i can get out of relegation tough season ahead

very very tough indeed :'(  i just cant score goals, i have 2 really good strikers (i think), but every chance i get is wasted, i have emphasized more shooting in training for both midfiedlers and attackers for defending i give the ball away too much and there is nobody wacthing the through ball though i have tight marking for defenders, i have increased defending to complete intensity for centre backs, as well as attacking to have better passing, same with full backs but unfortunately (this was after the first 2 games) after 5 now - i also lost to barnsley 3-1 in the league cup, i still cannot get any results i anyone can help me please do :) but for the next game, hope i can get my tactics right ;P |

well hopefully fernandez can score for me in league 1 lol, as about to win league 2 with peterborough. Anyways back on topic lol good luck mate but you might have been a bit to confident in saying safe mid table, it might cost you the job. |

or not so bad, 3 games later, im out of the relegation zone by one place, thanks to a 1-1 draw against bristol rovers (which i should have won) and a 5-0 win :D home to gillingham, where who else but alex fernandez scored a hat-trick
and i won in johnstones paint trophy first round 1-0 home to oldham |

...and everything has turned around for the accrington stanley faithful as on novemebr 5th, they have reached new heights and are in 8th place, just 3 points away from a playoff spot, which if it was the end of the season, would mean that accrington are in the championship, just one level off of one of the greatest leagues in the world, but though the manager is obviously delighted, he is also cautious over the future and not getting carried away... (i never was good at writing) here are some screensots of the table and my dramatic rise (thank you scott donnelly and alex fernandez) up the standings    one problem that i have had is that damien plessis, on loan from liverpool is getting too many bookings, he has 10 in 15 games played, i have him tackling normal and his tackling is 17, aggression is 10 so im not sure why, any help on that would be appreciated thanks oh and now i have to play carlisle three times in a row, first in the fa cup first round, then in the johnstones paint trophy and last in the league, damn were gonna get bored of each other :P (unless i win all 3 :)

february 2009 update: a fall down the league table and a slower rise as got me to 10th in the table, but wins in the cups have in the 5th round of the fa cup against bolton and in the north final of the johnstones paint trophy and malky mackay is now my assistant manager my managerial overiew  the league table so far  and the players who are getting me to where i am  hopefully i can make a late push for a playoff spot :)

end of season update a season of ups and downs, i finished 1 point of a playoff spot (damn scunthorpe) but on a much brighter note i won the johnstones paint trophy against peterborugh Managerial Overview  League Table  Current Squad  i plan to strengthen my defence and midfield a lot in the summer as well as continue to get hobbs plessis and amoo on loan becuase theyve really played a big role in getting me this far my transfer targets for the summer are (so far off the top of my head): rocky lekaj tommy hoiland a goalkeeper a left back (any suggestions please tell me) also sorry for not keeping this updated i will do so again after pre-season and monthly after that (hopefully if i dont get too carried away  ) also can everybody please look at my guide to fm which im working on im gonna try to make it the best one there is and i really appreciate any comments, thanks http://www.fmformation.net/general-d...de-making.html |
