HAMBURG ARE CHAMPIONS! A display of attacking football saw Danijel Ljuboja pick up the man of the match award and win his side their first title since 1987 against Alemmania Aachen. A 3-1 victory secured the Bundesliga title, as the city of Hamburg went into celebration. A 40-yard screamer from Ljuboja made it 2-1, and although it wasn't the clinching goal, a goal of that brilliance was fitting for such an occasion. What a way to win the title! Former HSV favourite Thomas Doll has hailed boss Alan Clark a HSV legend after clinching the club's first Bundesliga triumph since 1987. He said Clark's name will live long in the memory of Hamburg fans. After their title win, Hamburg SV were awarded £11,250,000 for finishing as Champions. Rafael van der Vaart won German Player of the Year. Team-mate Danijel Ljuboja came second, with Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose coming third. Hamburg manager Alan Clark won the German Manager of the Year. Felix Magath of Bayern Munich and Thomas Schaaf of Werder Bremen came behind him. Jose Paulo Guerrero was the Bundesliga's top goalscorer, with 19 goals. If you count all competitions he netted 29 times for the German champions. Vincent Enyeama, Rafael van der Vaart, Nigel de Jong, Jose Paulo Guerrero and Danijel Ljuboja were all named in the Bundesliga Team of the Year. Overall, a disappointing season in Europe and in the domestic cups was over shadowed by a last-day title win. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: | | | | 23-05-07, 05:37 PM | #22 (permalink) | | future king of england, FmF-UniT member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: weymouth Posts: 604 Thanks: 36 Thanked 35 Times in 29 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | congrats on your title win mate, i won on the last day of the season to win the conference with crawley KUTGW | Big thanks to Y2Stu for my sig and avatar Huggy B FmF-UniT co-founder | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to kopking2006 For This Useful Post: | | 23-05-07, 08:03 PM | #23 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Santiago Posts: 85 Thanks: 3 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | good luck! | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to dinoster For This Useful Post: | | 24-05-07, 05:13 PM | #24 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Edinburgh Posts: 84 Thanks: 16 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Summer going-ons; Shunsuke Nakamura officially signs at Hamburg after a pre-contract agreement was made. That's the way I think about it now: it's only a game. 'Educate the kids to integrate with one another and not pay any attention to who's a Catholic and who's a Protestant, and any of that rubbish. 'Just go out there, support your team, make good friends and get on with your lives. Injury Table: League Table: Piotr Trochowski wins Player of the Month for November. Jarolim also of HSV came second. Hertha Berlin 1:0 Hamburg Yet another last minute goal conceded to Hertha, this time from Gilberto. Last CL group game, I'm 2nd on 7. Steaua on 5 and Galatasaray on 4. HAMBURG 3:0 STEAUA BUCHAREST Goals from van der Vaart, Fleck and Ljuboja secure HSV's passage into the last 16 of the Champions League. Group G Table: Contract rebels Danijel Ljuboja and David Jarolim could be leaving Hamburg on a free in the summer if they don't agree terms with the club over new contracts. Both players contract ends on the 30th of June 2008. | | | | 03-06-07, 05:47 PM | #35 (permalink) | | future king of england, FmF-UniT member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: weymouth Posts: 604 Thanks: 36 Thanked 35 Times in 29 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | ouch on maybe losing the two players but congrats on the champions league qualifications...ouch on the injuries too mate but youll pull thru, like to see you win the league again ;) | Big thanks to Y2Stu for my sig and avatar Huggy B FmF-UniT co-founder | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to kopking2006 For This Useful Post: | | 03-06-07, 06:11 PM | #36 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Edinburgh Posts: 84 Thanks: 16 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Tah mate. I'm trying to get Gonzalo Higuian (fee) and Jesus Navas (pre-contract) in just in case they do leave. The Sevilla manager was sacked and according to the media I was favourite to take over. But I decided not to apply, Sevilla are battling relegation and have lost top players like Daniel Alves and Luis Fabiano. HAMBURG 0:0 BORUSSIA DORTMUND A bore draw leaves me in 7th place and 10 points adrift of leaders Borussia Dortmund, with 16 games played. HAMBURG 1:0 BAYER LEVERKUSEN A Jose Paulo Guerrero goal made sure Hamburg progress to the Quarters of the DFB Cup. There was a triple blow though, as Guy Demel, Nigel de Jong and David Jarolim were all ruled out for lengthy spells. Anyone got tips on how to resurrect Hamburg? Ratinho signed for £4million in January. Loads of injuries again is ruining Hamburg. I've only got the CL against Chelsea to look forward to. | | | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | | |
