SAHA, PARK and EVANS have now left the club Michael Dawson is my only new signing appointing him from Spurs for 4 million :) | | | | 21-04-07, 08:29 PM | #3 (permalink) | | FMF Donator Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Brotton - Redcar & Cleveland - Middlesbrough Posts: 407 Thanks: 10 Thanked 48 Times in 47 Posts | My first season is now over as Manchester United manager and i must say i had great plessure watching how my team performed, from a shaky start to a great piece of football for months then to a shaky end. i managed to win two cups along my journey these being the EPL and the league cup, i defeted Chelsea 1 - 0 in the league cup final to lift my first trophy as UNITED manager. i managed to get to the quater finals of the Champions league but this is as far as my journey would go, i managed to scrape a 1 - 1 draw with Chelsea in my first leg before been tourched 6 - 1 in my second leg, this means i lost 7 - 2 on AGG. i did however have some very tough fixtures along the way meeting Chelsea no less then 4 times in less then 2 months. This is how my final team looked at the end of the season: This is my teams final table: This is my final transfers in: This is my final transfers out: Tough fixtures along the way: Due to some of these fixtures and a lot of injuries my team didnt play to there full potential, overall i am very happy and looking forward to next season :) My players did manage to recieve quite a few awards: Ronaldo recieved the PFA Player of the year award: Rooney recieved the PFA Yong Player of the year award: Rooney and Ronaldo also featured in the team of the year, i also won the manager of the year award. Paul Scholes came 2nd in the goal of the season after being piped by Shevshenko Rooney recieved the Golden boot award: Last edited by oO SioS Oo; 22-04-07 at 09:23 PM. | | | | 22-04-07, 03:47 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: England Posts: 100 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Ben Arfa and Sahin , nice buys m8! | | | | 22-04-07, 09:41 PM | #5 (permalink) | | FMF Donator Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Brotton - Redcar & Cleveland - Middlesbrough Posts: 407 Thanks: 10 Thanked 48 Times in 47 Posts | my second season has just started and the summer transfer window has just closed, my squad has changed yet again with some great signings, here is what my team looks like: Ben foster has returned from loan to go staright into my team, i have John O'Shea(Transfer Listed), Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Van Der Sar(Transfer Listed), Fraizer Campbell in the reserves as back up. i also have Pique on loan at real madrid with the option to recall him at any time. Here is a screen shot to show the players i brought in: Here is a screen shot to show the players i have sold: i have quite a bit of money remaining for january so if needed i will bring more players in. i may regret selling heinze but he was getting on at the age of 29 + with the arrivals of marcelo and adriano it was going to be hard for him to get in. i may also regret selling Rossi but i believe that he would not be able to get in my team with so much competiton and seen the option to cash in. But you should have kept Rossi and not bought Kalou IMO... Also, Foster and Kuzsczack? Maybe you could look for a better goalie, perhaps Gordon, Akinfeev, Wiese? Sahin and Ben Arfa are great buys though. Well done :) | Play Up Pompey! | | | 23-04-07, 12:03 PM | #7 (permalink) | | FMF Donator Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Brotton - Redcar & Cleveland - Middlesbrough Posts: 407 Thanks: 10 Thanked 48 Times in 47 Posts | thanks for the comments i was a little unsure of my keepers but them are performing well at the moment which is good, i really wanted akinfeev but he joined roma i believe for 15 million and i had no funds at that current time. as for rossi yeh i wasnt to sure but there was a lot of interest in him and i thought since he can only play amc and st hes not as good as zarate IMO and i dont play amc so wouldnt play many games. i have lot of funds and will probs bring in a new keeper or striker in January :) | | | | 23-04-07, 04:48 PM | #8 (permalink) | | FMF Donator Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Portsmouth Posts: 364 Thanks: 7 Thanked 3 Times in 3 Posts | Vincent Degre is immense, I signed him for my Paris FC side, first season he played in, I won Ligue 1...I should really post my Paris FC game on here... =P Lastly, build a young team =) (as you have been doing by the looks of it) | Current Game: RC Mol-Wezel Division III Nationale Afd. KUSZCZAK and Foster turns into real gems and theres no need to spend money on new ones I think | | | | | 24-04-07, 09:12 AM | #13 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Jan 2007 Posts: 114 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Quote: | Originally Posted by oO SioS Oo thanks for the comment yeh i trying to make a youth team but im running out of ideas on who to buy iv set my sights on Oscar Ustari who turns into a very very good keeper with potential to be the best on the game :) any ideas on who else to buy ? | Well there are lots youngster to buy but IMO any team need some in-depth players to keep team thight, releasing Giggs? Why? Young teams can do good but it takes time to improve them mentaly. I think you need to look for some experienced players. | | | | | 24-04-07, 02:21 PM | #14 (permalink) | | FMF Donator Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Brotton - Redcar & Cleveland - Middlesbrough Posts: 407 Thanks: 10 Thanked 48 Times in 47 Posts | i still have giggs :S if you didnt read the above i said: I have John O'Shea(Transfer Listed), Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Van Der Sar(Transfer Listed), Fraizer Campbell in the reserves as back up. Because my team is performing really well i dont need these players ATM as for KUSZCZAK and Foster they are also doing really well but i think i will bring a new keeper in anyway | | | | 25-04-07, 02:45 PM | #15 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! This year has been a bigger improvement though with an average squad age of just 23, i managed to progress one stage more then i did last year in the FA after being nocked out in the 5th round by Charlton over a 2 leg period ( i know this is bad :P), i also managed to progess one stage futher then last year in the Champions league by reaching the semi finals. along my way i defeat sampdoria in the first nock out round 7 - 2 on AGG, i then drew Barcelona and managed to defeat them 3 - 2 on AGG, the next round is when i got nocked out after a 3 - 1 AGG defeat by Valencia. my aim for next year is to try and win the FA cup as this is the thropy that i most struggle in, i would also like to reach the Champions league final if possible. Cristiano Ronaldo was the only player from my team to be placed in the team of the year, he also won the best player in the UEFA Champions league Wayne Rooney finishing 3rd in the Uefa Champions league best player and finished 2nd top scorer. The UEFA Champions league dream team contains 3 of my players these being Michael Dawson, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney Mario Zarate won the young player of the year: [img=http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/331/zaratexo8.th.jpg] I also managed to retain the manager of the year award for a 2nd time in a row: [img=http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/6523/simonsma2.th.jpg] I am thinking of selling Rio Ferdinand as he is now at the age of 29, plus Gered Pique is returning from a season long loan at Real Madrid after a very good seaon. I am also looking into selling Ben Foster as he no longer plays. I would like to bring in another defender and attacker at least, i am looking at Anthony Vanden Borre, Emmanual Eboue, Fabricio Coloccini, Alexis I will definatly need a RB due to a lot a injurys in this position and the fact that Gary Nev is now 33. This is how my final team looked: [img=http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/8209/finalmz0.th.jpg] This is how my final league table looked: [img=http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/2382/tableuo3.th.jpg] This is an image to prove how my team did in the cups: [img=http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/2977/fixkn6.th.jpg] Any sugguestions on who to buy ?
