nice idea but another game lol, you as bad as me lol.
ARSENAL SENT TO LEAGUE TWO!
Outrage has hit the streets of London today as Arsenal Football Club have been sent to League Two for the new season. The F.A. announced that clubs must buy more English players and since Arsenal failed to co-operate they were sent down to League Two. Due to this epic departure Peter Hill-Wood has left the club as well as all of the non-English members of the Arsenal team. This means that players such as Francesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri have been free transfered. The team are said to be outraged and have appealed though the F.A. say nothing can be done!!
This now means that the club have no chairman though, due to his recent retirement from the game, Thierry Henry is said to be set to save the club from termoil. The Frenchman told The Mirror "I am horrified at what has happened to the club and will try with all of m might to get the side back on track." Henry is said to be one of the only people looking to take the helm of the club due to their loss of reputation. Due to this occurance Newcastle have been promoted back up into the Premiership, Norwich are back in the Championship and Crewe Alexandra are back up to League One though what does this mean for Arsenal. Well due to the fact they have limited amount of English players the whole side is under 20. This is what the current squad looks like:
James Shea (GK)
Gavin Hoyte (DF)
Paul Rodgers (DF)
Craig Eastmond (DF)
Rene Steer (DF)
Luke Ayling (DF)
Anton Blackwood (DF)
Kyle Bartley (DF)
Thomas Cruise (DF)
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (DF)
Kerrea Gilbert (DF)
Kieran Gibbs (DF)
James Dunne (MF)
Jack Wilshere (MF)
Henri Lansbury (MF)
Aarom Ramsey (MF)
Sanchez Watt (MF)
Theo Walcott (MF)
Jay Simpson (MF)
Conor Henderson (MF)
Mark Randall (MF)
Luke Freeman (ST)
This shows that theu really need to pick up a few players in the transfer window especially in the Goalkeeper and Striker areas due to the fact they have one player for each of these positions. Despite the fact they have a very young squad they are expected to win the league easily due to the quality of these young players.
Those of you eagle-eyed readers may be thinking that Aaron Ramsey is not English though the F.A. have allowed him to stay at the club due to the fact he is Welsh. This may be a key thing for Arsenal as Ramsey is said to be one of the creme de la creme of this Arsenal side and the fact that they are allowed to keep him may aid Arsenal in the short and long term.
We will have to see what happens to Arsenal Football Club over the next few weeks and see whether Gunners legend Henry buys the club or whether another chairman decides to do so. Whatever happens we know that there will be shocked faces and mourning all over London this morning as Arsenal will be playing in League Two with the likes of Rochdale and Accrington Stanley.
(I had this idea this morning and had to give it a go and thought I would keep you up to date with it though I will also be keeping my other threads up to date :))
Also please ask for permission to use this sort of idea please.
Thanks,

Great first post, looking forward to reading more! I've actually thought of doing this my self with Arsenal.
Did you make the database your self?

This is a fantastic idea!!! Was it one of those 'light-bulb' moments?
It's a great idea for a story. I really love those ones that I wish I'd thought of first.
I've often wondered whether you could alter the database so that every major European country was banned from having foreign players. Well I know you can do it, I just don't know whether I've got the patience. But ever since I read a post about altering the league tables, I've been cultivating this idea.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how you get on with this.

Good idea but there's going to be problems, Unless you moved down your reputation every player is still going to want to come to you and people like Walcott and Gibbs aren't going to want to move. Also players like Walcott are going to stay and destroy every team in League 2, Also with the same stadium your revenue is going to be huge and you will be able to outbid every team in the league for the best players like Man City and you'll just buy a super team, and I doubt you changed the original finances either and along with your rep you will be able to sign the same players as you would be able to in the premiership. If you did make these changes it would be a quality idea but try and think in more detail but like I said if you did KUTGW

I'm sorry, I don't agree with this.
If this happened in real life, Arsenal's reputation would be affected as they would now be a L2 team. They'd still have their history, so plenty of players would want to play at the club, but would they really want to play at L2 level? Of course not, the other problem is how long will Walcott and Gibbs want to stay there and play at that level. Walcott is hardly likely to continue his international career if he's battling the giants of Bury, Oxford or Rochdale, is he?
I think this is a great idea and won't be as easy as you think. yeah sure he'll have loads of money, but again unless players are prepared to play at such a lower level then he can't just buy loads of stars. Where he has an advantage is with wages.
The crowds will still turn up, as its Arsenal. Leeds attendances dropped as they went down the divisions but they still command more than most at that level.
I could be wrong but I thought the point of this was 'how would a major club deal with being relegated all the way to the bottom of the ladder?'. Rather than 'what if Arsenal was a League Two side?'
There is a vast difference. Anyway, just my opinion

Henry buys and Bergkamp to supply
Thierry Henry has bought Arsenal Football Club for a reported £5M. This means that Arsenal's balance will now be around £3M. As well as this Henry has hired an ex-teammate, Dennis Bergkamp, to be his manager. Bergkamp is thought to have signed a 3 year deal worth £9.5k.
Henry took no time in appointing Bergkamp as manager as they were both unveiled in the same conference at 9a.m. yesterday morning. Thierry Henry said in the conference "I am very glad to have bought the club and there were no opponents so I bought the club for enough money to have a good balance and enough money for the manager to spend." Bergkamp remained quiet during the conference and when called upon was quite cagey. However when asked what he would do in the transfer window he looked perky and said "I will buy the best players there are available to the club."
Arsenal fans will be looking forwards to the pre-season run as they face, what should be, easy opponents.
Arsenal Fixtures:
Lewes (A)
Doncaster (H)
Kings Lynn (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Bristol City (H)
Wycombe (A)
Our Season Prediction:
I think that Arsenal should do well this season though it is a tough league. I am going for a 7th place finish from Arsenal (taken from club information)
Bergkamp should be alright at a L2 club, at least he won't have to fly to any of the matches!!

Arsenal Pre-Season
Well at a quick glance you saw these results and thought Arsenal win. However due to their demotion to League 2 and the releasing of all foreign players it was sure to be a good challenge for Bergkamp.
Results:
Lewes 0-15 Arsenal
Simpson (6)
Wilshere (2)
Walcott (4)
Ramsey
Nicholson o.g.
Lansbury
Arsenal 1-1 Doncaster
Simpson
Kings Lynn 0-8 Arsenal
Wilshere
Frimpong
Walcott (2)
Simpson
Bartley
Watt
Eastmond
Arsenal 4-0 Huddersfield
Simpson (4)
Arsenal 0-0 Bristol City
Wycombe 0-3 Arsenal
Simpson
Frimpong
Walcott
Well it turned out to be an awesome pre-season reulsts-wise. They looked very strong both offensively and defensively. If the side take this sort of form in to the league they will definately be going up, and with ease.
Signings:
Phil Barnes Grimsby £40k
Paul Boertien Walsall £45k
Dean Bowditch Free
Jacques Maghoma Free
Andrew Howell Free
Well a rather quiet set of signings there for Arsenal and, unsurprisingly, they did not release any players or sell them.
Manager's Comments:
Dennis Bergkamp: "Well I am very pleased with our pre-season form and my signings were very good as they are all pretty much ready for first team action and I am very confident we can continue this form. Although Theo wanted to leave for West Brom they did not offer us a reasonable amount so we refused to let him go. I am sure that we can make him happy in the next few seasons as we make our way back to the Premier League!!"
So a quiet start then!!! Boring, boring Arsenal!!!!!
I notice from your signings and Walcott wanting to leave that my earlier assumptions are correct!
Be interesting to see how you develop this into a story. Good luck

I'm new around here but looking at your history, I see that this is you 35th 'game thread'...Anyway, in what concerns this game, I don't find it very interesting and so, I won't be following this one. I prefer not to follow because later it may get interesting and, even not knowing you, I have a feeling you'll end up quiting this one too. But good luck for your career anyway.
Sorry if I am to harsh but thats just my opinion.
