Good luck with this mate, i managed Athletico for a while, if you want my opinion i would sell Forlan at the start of the 2nd season, by that time the board should have coughed up more money :D

" I am planning to build a new team in a couple of years buy producing some of the best young footballers in the game. For now I am very pleased with the squad I have , with only one or two new first team signings needing to be made."

Just two minutes later it was 5-0 after Simao crossed in a low drive that saw defender Domingo put the ball past his own keeper.
Pongolle then made it even better for himself when he scored his fourth of the game, this time from a tight angle after good work from Simao.
Amoros were in shock when the Referee blew his whistle for half time finding themselves 6-0 down.
four goals on his debut, not even Pongolle expected that.
Atletico did not calm down after half-time at all, and after just three minutes Raul Garcia made it 7-0 after scoring of the rebound from Forlans shot.
Forlan them scored his second two minutes later after Heitinga's long clearance found him in space to score and easy goal.
The game then calmed down for 14 minutes before Simao was upended in the box. He stepped up to take the penalty coolly slotting it into the bottom corner to make it 9-0.
Soon some of the new Atletico players were bought onto the field and Davide Santon was on hand to make it 10-0 after finding himself free in the box to tap the ball home. Pichu Atienza then scored from a corner before Giourkas Seitardis finished to scoring to make it 12-0.

Chaves no match for Atletico
2.8.2008
Chaves 1-4 At.Madrid
Estadio Municipal de Chaves- 8442
Atletico Madrid made the journey to Portugal for their second friendly. Chaves knew what to expect following Atletico's 12-0 win over Amoros.
Just like the Amoros game Atletico got of to a great start when Pongolle made space for himself inside the box to fire home after just 6 minutes.
Atletico nearly made it 2-0 4 minutes later when Maxi Rodriguez was sent clean through on goal but his shot banged off the upright. Forlan then had a chance but his shot was wild and went over to bar. After 18 minutes Atletico got another chance after Rodriguez was tripped up in the box, Pongolle stepped up to take it a thumped it into the net.
Pongolle celbrates his 6th goal in 2 games for Atletico.
Atletico again pushed forwards and Rodriguez had another great chance but lifted his shot over the bar. Chaves could not get a foothold in the games and soon found themselves 3-0 down after Pongolle crossed the ball for Forlan who scored a sweet volley.
For the rest of the half Atletico pushed on for a fourth goal with Assuncao and Maniche missing chances to score.
The second half started slow with both teams holding back, still on the 59th minute Atletico got a fourth after Forlan was able to tap home a Maniche ball.
Forlan makes it 4-0.
Soon however the home fans got their chance to score after a brilliant 30 yard strike from Magalhaes found the roof of the net.
That goal bought on a couple of Chaves chances with the best falling to Magalhaes who wasted it. Atletico then finished of the game strong with Rodriguez and Camacho having chances and Pongolle having a goal disallowed for offside.

Atletico warm up for Juve game in style
11.8.2008
Raya Majadahonda 1-9 Atletico Madrid
Nuevo Cerro del Espino- 3837
Atletico Madrid was back in Spain before their final friendly before the clash with Juventus in three days time.
If Rayo were expecting a small performance from Atletico, they were wrong as Atletico started the games of fast and after only three minutes had taken the lead thanks to Diego Forlan.
It got even worse after 8 minutes when a mixup in the Rayo defence saw Corral score an own goal.
Rayo tried to go on the attack after the goal but were left short in defence, and after a great brake from Simao, John Fleck got on the end of his cross to make it 3-0.
Soon Atletico got two more chances but the first from Maniche was well saved from Aleman and Assuncao drive went miles over the bar. However just before the break Forlan scored two goals the first an easy tap-in but the second a 30 yard curler in the top corner of the net.
Forlan celabrates his first half hat-trick
Soon after the break Atletico made it 6-0 after 16 year old striker Borja Baston scored a sensational left foot volley, sowing he may have a very bright future ahead of him.
Soon after Columbian defender Luis Perea made it 7-0 when he got onto the end of a Simao corner.
Rayo got a goal back thanks to a header from Dani, but two late Raul Garcia goals gave Atletico a 9-1 scoreline to take with them to Turin.
Raul Garcia grabbed two late goals for Atletico Madrid.
Rayo Majadahonda goals: Dani (66)
Atletico Madrid goals: Diego Forlan (3,38,44), Corral og(8) John Fleck (10), Borja Baston (51), Luis Perea (63), Raul Garcia (80,89).
Lopez believes Madrid can get a results in Turin.
Ahead of Atletico's clash with Juventus, Antonio Lopez has been confidently talking to the press about the game.
"This is a big game for us, we would much prefer a Champions League place than a UEFA Cup one, I am sure I don't need to say that. Juventus are a big club with lots of good players, I especially am looking forwards to the challenge of Del Piero, but I think we have a better side and I am sure we can leave Turin with a draw to put us in a good position for the return leg."
