Day 1
As I Accepted The Contract from the Leeds chairman Ken Bates the first thing that flashed into my head was the League 1 Trophy.
The Second Was My Old Club Manchester United As I Crossed The Divide From Manchester To Yorkshire. I Knew That If I Played Against Them Then I Would be in for an intimidating atmosphere.
my 1.5k offer a week was a step down from the 27.5k i was earning but i was relishing the prospect of a new change.
With Jermaine Beckford Leaving The Previous Season I had to find a striker. kevin phillips flashed into my head as he would be a bargain because of his age but he has the ability to score goals. I didnt go straight into a bid and i slowly summed up my options.
Ken Bates and I slowly had a discussion about where leeds are going this season and he said to me politely but firmly about getting Leeds Promoted. I Agreed to his demands thinking about what happened Denis Wise and we both had a chat about the strike force.
I left the meeting confident of Leading Leeds To the top but there was one problem.   Day 2 I walked down my stairs and picked up the mail. I was drawn towards a black and white envelope with a magpie badge at the top right hand corner. i knew too well who it was from- high flying west Brom who achieved an unbeaten season in the Championship. the letter read that Gus Poyet, my assistant had accepted a lucrative contract offer and would be heading to assist Tony Mowbray. I wondered why Ken Bates did not inform me of this at the meeting we had. It left me in a poor position as i needed players to bolster the squad and i had lost my right hand man. i also had recieved a letter from Colchester for my second keeper David Lucas. It was a £600,000k fee exceeding his value of £400,000. This would surely fund a move for Kevin Phillips. My transfer funds available were 1.2 million because there had been a major loss with Leeds finishing nineth the season before. great work but im a bit confused. for me david lucas is worth 50k, and gus poyet isnt my assistant, its steve staunton. what db are you on, or is this just part of the story  |

im playn in 2010 with the first database .
