Abroad Seeing as my career was going nowhere, I decided to try and combine my love of football and use my FM experience to try and blag myself a job. Naive as it was, but as I told myself time and time again... if you don't try, you'll never find out. I decided to try further afield than England. I knew the press would somehow get their hands on the story if I did get a job, and then would follow every footstep I made waiting till I fell flat on my face. After sending numerous CV's out to clubs across Europe, I finally got a response from one club... which I couldn't read. Damn German. So I took the letter and copied it into a free translator. The result wasn't good. Aside from the fact there was a German word every five words, I could still make out they were telling me to stop wasting their time... albeit not very politely. I decided to give up on my pursuit to take my FM experience into real life management and began to just accept what I had in life and make the most of it. That was until a letter came through my door, with this logo on it... Again, after much typing into a free translator, I read my response which in fair wasn't the best translation in the world... Dear Mr Bird, AC Martina like offer you the job title of be AC Martina 20 Under team. Inside is ticket to fly to Martina, and we pick you up from the aeroplane. AC Martina look front to seeing you and talk the wage. Gianfranco Chiarelli (AC Martina Chairman) I couldn't actually remember applying to AC Martina, nor actually know anything about them. To Wikipedia! Seems they were founded in 1947, and play in Serie C1/B at the Stadio Gian Domenico Tursi. Well that was useful. I phoned up work on the day of my departure, and called in sick. Hopefully in a couple of days, I can call in and tell them to shove it. Off to the airport I went to catch my flight to Italy, and found a nice little translation book that was reduced. It had pizza stains on it, but you could still make out most of the words. This was certainly going to be an adventure in the unknown. My first proper writers story, so any tips or advice is welcome | Quote: | Originally Posted by Bowser Birdy Is A Legend, Birdy Is A Legend, na na na na *clap* *clap* na na na na.
