Default England and PSV's Gamble

7.7.2007
Sky Sports Breaking News!

Presenter: In the wake of Fabio Capello’s departure as England Manager before even managing a game after the charges he received due to his involvement in football corruption in football, England have confirmed they have appointed a new manager. We can now go live to the FA press conference.

Brian Barwick: Firstly we would like to thank you all for coming, It’s been our goal and expectation as a top footballing nation to compete and win the international competitions. Following Fabio’s ban from the game we were left with a decision who was going to be the New England manager? After discussing it with the board and several managers who have lent us their views, who we thank by the way, we choose to go for an upcoming manager with lots of potential this manager is very young indeed but has been a genius when it comes to his trade so far although he has no competitive experience his potential far exceeds that of most expectations. I would now implore you to welcome the new England Manager Kyle Summers.

*Kyle Summers enters the room and takes his seat at the center of the table.
*The reporters are gossip to each other is disbelief that an unknown manager has been appointed England’s highest managerial position

Kyle Summers: First I would like to insure you and the country that I will do a great job as England Manager. Do judge me by my lack of experience or age but by the results I achieve while in the job. I intend on taking England to the highest of levels of international football and to become winners. I want to let it be known that there’s no static England squad as of now I intend on picking players who are on form and are showing great passion for the game at the time in order to bring out England’s skill and passion on the pitch.

Brian Barwick: You may proceed with any questions you have.

Reporter: Mr Summers do you think the nation will accept your appointment as England manager with open arms?

Kyle Summers: Of course not I expect most people to be sceptile of me and I doubt that I am the right choice. But I feel the FA would not have choosen me for this job if I was not up to it at all.

Brian Barwick: I am sorry but we have to stop it here we have ran out of time, thanks for coming to the press conference.

(Brian Barwick talked so long it wasted all our time!)

*Back at Sky sports News

Presenter: So just to confirm that Kyle Summers has been confirmed the New Manager of England.

*A few hours on

Presenter: Regarding the appointment of Kyle Summers as England Manager we can give you details on him right now. Well he was born in 1990 in Rhondda, Wales, and bit of a twist there him being Welsh; He has the required coaching badges and licenses to manage after passing them in the quickest time in FA records.

Presenter: We now have Harry Redknapp on the line, Harry thanks for joining us here on sky sports news.

Harry: No problem at all.

Presenter: First what’s your take on this situation?

Harry: Well to be honest it’s all a shambles they went from a highly decorated Manager to a practical unknown youngster. There must be hundreds more qualified managers for the job and even more, more qualified than him. But I aint writing him off yet like he said judge him by his results if he can achieve what he claims he can then why not let him be manager of England? There’s nothing we can do about his appointment it’s done now, the best thing is for us to support him not matter how under qualified and inexperience we need to back him and hope he can achieve what he claims he can.

Presenter: Thanks Harry for your comments on the matter.

Harry: No problem, see you.

Sky sports breaking News!

Presenter: Breaking news has just reached us and it’s a bizarre one it Appears England Manager Kyle Summers has been appointed the new PSV manager. A statement from the club reads this:

We have every confidence in Kyle Summers he may have no experience in top level management but his coaching skills and potential are great, here in Holland we pride ourselves on great coaching and Kyle has that is abundance. We know he can learn fast and get us off to a great start in the league. We will not be holding a press conference on this matter.

*Kyle Summers turns up at PSV’s training ground

It’s be a frantic two weeks for me appointed England Manager and appointed PSV Manager it’s happened so fast. It seems god is smiling on me at the moment or is it that the devil is watching in anticipation of my failure? Well either way I have been given great opportunities and I intend on making the most of them. As I arrived at the training ground I felt my nerves jingling will the players accept an unknown manager? Will the coaches at the club feel like I shouldn’t be there at all? As I drifited off in my doubts I snapped out of my day dream by Jan Wouters the Assistant Manager.

Jan: Ah finally you have arrived, it’s good to finally meet you in person.
Kyle: Likewise
Jan: Was the flight and the moving arrangements all right?
Kyle: Yes everything was fine.
Jan: That’s good to hear, anyways enough of the small talk let’s proceed to the changing rooms I have gathered the first squad ready to meet you.
Kyle: Good, then let’s proceed.
We made our way to the changing rooms and entered.
Jan: Team this is Kyle Summers some of you or most of you will know or heard of him as the New England Manager, well from now on you will know him as the new gaffa her at PSV.
The players all seemed bemused but were snapped out of it by Jan.
Jan: Some of you may think he’s the wrong man for the job but I can tell you this, Mr Summers is rated the best Young upcoming coach in his country he may be inexperience at managerial level but when it comes to coaching he’s next to none you will respect him for as long as he’s the boss and judge him on his skills not by his unknown reputation?
The players all nodded in agreement, I decided to install some confidence to the team.
Kyle: I know you must be doubting me and my skills well that has to stop right now doubts will lead to you losing your concentration and will lead to the down fall of your game which is what you or this club do not wish to happen. I plan on not bringing anyone in or selling anyone I feel you’re a talented squad that’s has the skill and determination to win trophies.

After the meeting with the players I made changes to the coaching staff over the next few days. I sacked Anton Jansssn a youth coach I didn’t feel was up to the coaching role at PSV, I hired Jurgen Dirkx a good technical coach, I hired two fitness coaches which we lacked Rick Beentjes and Johan Vervoort. I also brought in Clemens Bastiaansh a good tactics coach and also Stephn Hiderbrandt a very good shooting coach. After these changes I went to the board and requested a new feeder club that we could loan our youngsters out too, after a week they gave me a shortlist of clubs to choose from after taking a few days to choose I picked FC Eindhoven a very close nebouring team would were in the divison below I felt this to be the right choice because we could kept a close eyes on the players loaned out and also they would get the benefit of playing Dutch football and not Spanish, Italian or some other nation football.

After 11 days in the job I managed to sort out a good training plan and had the coaching staff in place. I had my first game against English League 2 side Northampton away from home. I felt nervous but excited on embarking on the managerial road. We started the game very well we didn’t play to quick we kept the ball in midfield and slowly built up our play we wasn’t in any hurry the game had only just begun. We had our first corner of the game just after 6 minutes had passes the ball was nicely wiped in it fell from the sky and landed to the feet of our Center back Carlos Salcidio he scooped the ball in not the greatest of finishes but a finish none the less. We outplayed Northampton to no one’s surprise we kept pushing forward and Aissasati got off a long range curling shot that just skimmed the post just a bit more luck was needed for it to go in. In the end we ended the game just 1-0 to us we would of liked more goals but we had no problem at all from the opposition and we held onto the ball well a good victory.

More to come could of gone into better detail but I feel tired at the moment ;_; more to come.
