I've written before at the 07 forum, and did nearly 1 season with Argyle before. Hopefully I can do the same again. I'm happy to take any advice you might have to improve the SOMS, so please do post. --- *Yawn*. Another day of coaching the youth at Plymouth had come to an end and I was feeling a bit tired. I had been working on training ideas for a couple of hours, as the players return from their hols tomorrow and I need to get them back to full fitness. Ian had been down a couple of times in May to talk to me about the guys here and had told me that a couple of them might even get a chance next season. If you ask me, Toby Davis is the one to look out for. I woke up the next morning and arrived nice and early in my office at around 7. I had been there just 2 minutes when the phone rang. It was Paul Stapleton, the Chairman at Plymouth. "Jack, Jack, it's Paul, you there?" "Yeh I'm here, how are you?" "I'm alright - but listen, have you spoken to Ian recently?" "No why, something going on?" "Well, between you and me, I've recieved a resignation in the post today from him. Personal problems, apparently" At this point I was stunned into silence. Ian was a fantastic coach and deserved so much praise for getting the club this far. "Oh my god. Do the press know?" "Rumours currently, I'm heading to a conference with them in 30 minutes. Can you come with?" I was a bit hesitant. I was only a Youth Coach, I never recieve any media coverage, why should I? I like to keep a low profile and didn't want to be stalked by the press. Not that I ever would though. I am happy as Youth Coach, it suits me, it pays the bills. "Well I suppose I can, but why Paul?" "You're the new manager Jack" With that the phone went dead. A practical joke, I convinced myself. I loaded up the Laptop and checked my emails. It was 7:15am, 15 minutes until the conference. Not that I was prepared to go. Then, when an email from P Stapleton came through, echoing the details so briefly discussed in the phone call, I knew it to be true. I rushed over to the stadium and reached Stapleton's office, and knocked. He welcomed me, and we headed for the conference... | | | | | 29-04-08, 07:30 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Touted as a new David Ginola: Im an FMF'er, Not a movie star Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: wiltshire Posts: 1,657 Thanks: 226 Thanked 369 Times in 347 Posts | Great start mate, very interesting, but suggest using a slightly bigger font.
