You show a lot of dedication in writing the story and since it's an original idea, it reads easily. And the results are good enough so all by all, it's a good job you're doing, with the club and with the story. One thing. I would change the newsline at the top of each post. Since it's too big for the forum, the forum is re-sizing it automatically and this makes it look very unclear. I do love the Blue Square North logo! Super signing Nathan Jarman started off his Crookes AFC Career with a bang after scoring two in Crookes 5-0 win over Harrogate Town. The ex-Liverpool man signed for Crookes just 3 days ago but was rewarded with a first team place in his first match and it seemed to have payed off. The first goal came after 9 minutes when Jonathon Hogg hit a 25 yard volly into the top corner after the corner was cleared, so far the goal of the season. The game then slowed down, Healy produced some good saves just before half time but Harrogate and Crookes defended well until the last 15 minutes. After a cross by Boden was poorly cleared it fell to Jarman who hit it home from close range in the 76th minute. Then 4 minutes later, Thomas hit from range and scored, opening the floodgates to Crookes and making it 3-0. A poor passback left Thomas 1 on 1 with the keeper and he finished to make it 4-0 and then in injury time, Jarman's shot was parried and he followed up to make it 5. With Crookes AFC's current form, its possible that they could get the play-off's this year and if you were luck to put a bet on them at the beginning to get promoted, you can lick your lips cos you could be in for a huge payout. Last saturday Crookes travelled to Southport when First met Second in the Blue Square North. It was a close encounter but Crookes just edged it in a thrilling 3-2 match which puts Crookes 10 points clear after 15 games. But it wasn't a smooth start for Crookes as Southport took the lead when Alessandra put them ahead from close range, and the score stayed that way until half time. I don't know what Darling said to his men at the break but they came out of there shell after half-time and were rewarded 3 minutes in when Ryan Taylor put Darling through with a beautifully placed passed and darling hammered it home to make it 1-1. The game was blown wide open after that goal and it was end to end but no-one could break the deadlock until Kirkup headed home after a deep cross by Darling from the left, and 3 minutes later he scored again when Darling's free kick was parried by Whiteside into the path of Kirkup who finished to make it 3-1. Ryan Sudgen got the consolation goal for Southport but it wasn't enough as the score ended 3-2. Crookes next game is against under performing Hinckley at Crookes Road Pitch on Wednesday, be sure to be there and join the revolution that is Crookes AFC. Crookes were beten 1-0 by Blue Square South's Bognor Regis in a game where luck played a major part in the result. Even though Crookes had most of the ball and had alot more shots than their opponents, Bognor Regis got the nly goal of the game when Scott Harris played in an offside Luke Nightingale who hammered past Jason Healy after 24 minutes, but that wasn't the end of the controversy. In the 40th minute, Ryan Taylor broke through the defence and was brought down from behind by Mark Knee in the box, but the referee didn't give the penalty. Crookes kept the pressure on throughout the game and made the breakthrough on 77 minutes when sub Thomas took the ball around the keeper and slot it home but it was ruled offside, even though replays show he was onside. Manager Darling who was out for the match due to a small calf injury was furious with the officials and showed this in an interview with Crookes AFC.co.uk. "The referee was poor, he made poor decisions and refused to listen to both the players and even his officials, I have made a complaint to the FA and hope that referee's like that are removed from the game so that decisions like the ones today don't happen. League Table Other Cup Results in all England Competitions FA CUP - 2nd Round Horsham beat Chorley 3-2 in the Second Round to put themselves in the draw for the FA Cup third round. But even though they are in the draw, and could of faced the likes of Liverpool and Man U, they could feel disappointed with only getting League 1 Walsall at home. League Cup - 4th Round Local Team Sheffield Wednesday did well to get to the 4th round and are doing well in the league, but Man U were just too good for them. Setanta Shield - Third Round North/South North: Darling scored two to take Crookes to the 4th round were the big boys from the Blue Square Premier join the cup, will they get one of them? The more popular we get the better the papers and media will write stories on us. If we go on a run in the FA cup while in lower leagues then big papers like The Sun etc will write about us. When in L2 will do a Sky Sports (Soccer Saturday) or BBC's (Final Score) type thing on big matches in cup and league matches every month or so. | Current Game/s ----------------------------- Starting at Wexford Youths, Manager Darling goes for world domination, but he's gotta start somewhere. | | | 03-05-08, 08:21 PM | #33 (permalink) | | Indispensable To FMF Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 1,302 Thanks: 360 Thanked 262 Times in 256 Posts Nominated 2 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Crookes clear the Gray to reach the next round. Blue Square North's Crookes AFC have upset Blue Square Premier side Grays Athletic 2-0 at Crookes Road Pitch. Crookes had most of the possession and outplayed Grays in every department. The first goal came just before half-time, when Nathan Jarman took advantage of a parry by the Grays keeper to put the Sheffield club infront. After the break Crookes came out strong and Grays seems to not be able to haddle them and it showed when Darling broke through there defence and Gray's Downer brought him down just outside the area and was given a red card. With only 10 men, Crookes took advantage and went 2-0 up when Darling's cross was met by loanee, Andy King. Darling said after the match that he was delighted with the win and was thrilled to reach the 5th Round. | Current Game/s ----------------------------- Starting at Wexford Youths, Manager Darling goes for world domination, but he's gotta start somewhere. | | | 03-05-08, 11:48 PM | #34 (permalink) | | Scout For FMF's DB Update Join Date: May 2007 Location: Scotland Not Britain Posts: 573 Thanks: 33 Thanked 114 Times in 103 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | looking good mate very detailed kutgw | SigMe'ConMe | | | 04-05-08, 11:56 AM | #35 (permalink) | | Indispensable To FMF Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 1,302 Thanks: 360 Thanked 262 Times in 256 Posts Nominated 2 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Wacha Ya Dooing Mon. Fans dubious of ex-Jamaican international signing. Crookes AFC's Manager Joshua Darling has completed the signing of ex-Jamaican International Striker Onandi Lowe on a free transfer from Jamaican Premier league side Portmore United. He was spotted along with many others by Manager Darling as he took a trip to Jamaica to watch up and coming star Rudolph Austin who is said to be signing later this week for an undisclosed fee. But fans of the club are worried that Lowe's past will affect his game and the clubs moral. Darling told us that "Lowe is a great player and has a good few years left in him and he could become a great player for us. He has proved he can play in England's higher leagues and he will do fine in the Conference or Conference North next year." He then went on to say, "He is one of many players from Jamaica to join our club." Onandi Lowe was arrested in Britain in 2004 and Jamaica in 2007 for drug related offences but was cleared of all charges. Neil Warnock picked out Striker Joshua Darling, son of the Manager, who scored two, as a Star for the Future, saying "I'd love to have him play for me, he's Strong, fast, he can do anything." Will it be a matter of time before Darling is playing in the big leagues. We interviewed both him and his father about the matter and heres what they said. Kelly Dalglish: Congratulations on the Victory here guys, you have been drawn Burton in the next round, do you think you could win that one. Joshua Darling SR: Why not, we have come this far and we have a great team, the pressures on them. They have to win, their the favourites so they will have to win, we can go out there and enjoy the game, if we win then great, if not, we have had a great run this year nd if it comes to an end at Burton then it will come to an end. Kelly Dalglish: Joshua Darling JR is a great talent and is starting to gather interest from big clubs, do you think you will be able to keep him. Joshua Darling SR: He's a great player and it will be hard but its up to him, I'd love him to stay but if he wants to leave his old man then I won't stop him. Joshua Darling JR: You don't have to worry their, I'm not leaving for a while, I want to play football and the big clubs have too much competition for places so I'm going to stay here to gain some first team experience before I even consider leaving, I has to be the right move for me and the club. Kelly Dalglish: Rumour has it that you will be in the next England Squad against Slovakia at Wembely, have you heard anything from them or... Joshua Darling JR: I haven't heard anything and I don't expect to, I have to prove myself to both England and the fans, I'm happy to be part of the U19 set up at the moment. With the end of the season coming up fast, and the close season being deadly for low league teams with star players, will Crookes be able to keep hold of England's new hope or will he be off to one of the big boys, only time will tell. | Current Game/s ----------------------------- Starting at Wexford Youths, Manager Darling goes for world domination, but he's gotta start somewhere. | | | 05-05-08, 01:31 PM | #39 (permalink) | | For Then Those Evil Eyes; They Have No Place In Paradise!
