Paul Ince was going to leave? Naa. Can't be true. I text him anyway asking if there was nay truth in it and went and started to cook my self my favourite meal, maccaroni cheese. Isabel was not in for dinner today, she had gone out with her friends for a meal and they were going to the pictures after so all good i had the TV and 3 of my friends were coming round to play FIFA07 on my PS2. I had just finished cooking my meal and i went to sit by the TV and put the news on when i got a text. It was form Paul. The text said in these exact words. "Hey Ryan, im sorry but the news is true, i think i will be taking the job aswell its a great offer and they are a big team, you have been great since you've been here, i would like to wish you luck for the future and i will put a good word in for you with Pete. Paul". I was shocked, i had been in football for a few months and already everything possible had happened. Surely if Pete bought in a new manager they would bring in there own assitant. So i was out of a job? I struggled to concentrate on FIFA and finished 3rd in the Lounge mode. Not great for my standards. I failed to sleep that night but there was nothing i could do until the next morning, eventurly i nodded of. I traveled to work again in my little motor, still thinking of what would happen to my job. As soon as i got there i went to Petes office. He told me about Paul being offered a job at Southampton and he had accepted. He then told me some news that would change my life... He told me MK Dons couldnt afford to sign a good manager from a club and there were no decent managers out there without a job that would come to stadium:mk. I struggled to understand what he was saying, does this mean the club was going to finish just like that? Then he spoke again, he said i would like to offer you the job, you know the players and the club well plus i think the way you get players to play football would suit the club well. He then pulled out a new contract offering me an extra £200 a week then my Assitant Manager job plus it had Manager status instead. I didn't need to think for long so i signed the contract. I would still take the training sessions. He said if i wanted an assitant i had to find one, and he said he would offer them a contract. A new chapter in my career in football had opened... I wanted the team to be playing direct, quick and attacking football. I wanted to make the fans enjoy themselves when the came to a match and i wanted to score lots of goals, who wouldn't? I realised a few players who i didn't think were great, and the wage bill was far to high, and the team had to many players. I also sold a few more players and made 40k to add to my transfer kitty so that was 290k including the 250k Pete had given me. I discovered some good players during my trips with my scout my first signing would be Segio Torres who i first heard of on The Championship Goals program on ITV a few weeks back. I wanted to add some South American football to my team and him be from Argentina made him be a special member of the team. I thought he would be good and snapped him up for 35k, then i signed a Irish born play called Gareth O'Conner from Burnley for 10k, my very own Cristiano Ronaldo. He could play in both wing postions and as an attacking mid. I would give him a free role and make him the cnetre of the team. My final signing was a great one in my eyes a young centre half from West Ham who goes by the name of James Tomkins, he cost me a heffty 150k but i knew he would be a great asset. Not long to go now until my first game would arrive. Life was great and nothing could be better, until i answered my phone.... I gathered that she was just ringing to see what i wanted for dinner. I said hello like you normally do when answering the phone. She sounded very, upset and was peaking fast. I asked her what wrong and she had told me our dog Max had gone missing. I was shocked. The dog we had since he was a puppy had just dissapeard. She told me she had left the door open whilst it was sunny and max had just dissapeard. It wasn't like him to just run away like that. I told her it was okay and i was just about to leave and come home. I got home for about 5.15am, it took me a while to calm her down but we went onto the computer to make some posters with a picture of him and that he had gone missing we added some info about his colour of fuy, eye colour, the names he responds to. This was all i need 3 days before my first competive game as a manager. I made a few more signings before the match, i signed Liam Trotter, Dean Bowditch and Jordan Rhodes all on loan from Ipswich Town F.C. A team only a few miles from were i was born. Jim Magilton is a great man and manager. He told me he was happy to let them go out on loan to try and help me get promotion and get some exprience. The day of my first game come around. It was Morecambe at the stadium:mk. The lads had done plenty of training on fast, attacking, quick tempo football and had plenty practise in a diamond formation. I was happy with the way they had trained since i took over the club. One hour before kick-off i recieved a phone call from Isabel, she said someone had bought Max back, i was overjoyed, she told me she had gave the women a reward of £200. A few months ago i wouldn't have been able to pay that, but since being MK manager i had alot more cash. I was more determined to win the game now, i was as happy as i could be and was ready to lead the troops to there first game. I gave my team talk and the game kicked of. My first goal in league management came after just 3minutes. Aaron Wilbraham scored a great header from a corner taken by my right back. The first half finished 1-0 to my MK Dons. I was happy so far but we could have scored more, so i told the lads they had been good so far but we needed more goals to be safe. On the 61st minute we was awarded a penalty. My very own Cristiano Ronaldo (Gareth O'Conner) stepped up to take the penalty and blasted it wide. He was upset but the rest of the team just told him things like dont worry you'll score next time. Just four minutes later we scored again, Wilbraham got his second of the game and he definatly deserved it. The game was in our hands and we still carried on having great chances. Jemal Johnson the former Wolves player finished the game of in the 85th minute. It finished 3-0 and i was delighted with the team, so were the fans. The changing room was great after that. The my first win in pro football, what a great feeling... The next game Wolves in the carling cup... Last edited by RyanTheGunner; 27-04-08 at 10:08 AM. | Massive thanks to James M for the great sig.
