From Bhoys to Men
Today, one month after Gordon Strachan resigned from Celtic, an unknown life-long Celtic supporter has been appointed the new manager for the upcoming season. James McMahon is said to be 'over the moon' at his shock appointment. We can now go live to the press conference inside Celtic Park.
Georgie Thompson - The pictures you can see now are Celtic's new manager James McMahon sitting along side chief executive Peter Lawell and current club captain Stephen McManus.
Mr. McMahon, how do you feel being appointed as new Celtic manager? James McMahon - I am delighted. It has been a life-long ambition of mine to play or manage Celtic. Georgie Thompson - What are your main goals for this season? James McMahon - Well, my minimum expectation is to win the Premier League, Scottish Cup and the CIS Insurance Cup. I would also like to reach the last 16 of the Champions League, but that all depends on the luck of the draw. Georgie Thompson - Will you be making any new signings? James McMahon - Well, I have just came out of my first training session and I think a few new faces are required. Georgie Thompson - Can you tell us what positions you are looking to improve or what players you have your eye on? James McMahon - I'm afraid that I don't want to tell you that information at this moment and time. Georgie Thompson - Ok, Peter, why did you make such an unexpected appointment of a rookie manager? Peter Lawell - Well, we thought long and hard about it, and the rest of the board and myself think James has what it take to take Celtic to a new level in football. Georgie Thompson - Stephen, are you looking forward to working with James? Stephen McManus - Of course, everyone here at Celtic Football Club is. Georgie Thompson - Thanks guys, Georgie Thompson, Sky Sports News, live at Celtic Park. Back to the studio.

My Mood
I am still delighted to be Celtic manager, and to have played my first game. My first game will always be the one I remember, even though it is a friendly, I am still a tad upset and disappointed that we couldn't secure the win.

Setanta Sports News today can confirm that Celtic manager James McMahon has sent his scouts to watch some players, making it obvious that he is planning to strengthen the left-back position, as well as looking for back-up in other areas in defense. We also believe McMahon to be looking for a new striker and centre midfielder. Our recent poll shows that the majority of the Celtic fans agree with McManhon that club is desperate for a new left-back. 96% of fans say they need a new left-back. 4% are happy with Lee Naylor and Perrier-Doumbe. 76% of fans also said they would like to see a new striker coming into Celtic Park, but not necessarily replacing either of the current partnership of McDonald and Vennegoor of Hesselink. Alan Finlayson, the fans spokesperson, had this to say, "We are aware that our new manager McMahon is unknown and has no past experience, but we are prepared to give him a chance, everyone has to start somewhere. We would like to see him bring in a couple of fresh faces."
McMahon said earlier on today with an interview with former Celtic Legend Danny McGrain on Celtic TV, "I have been looking at a few players, I don't want to say what position though due to the current players who play there becoming upset and unsettled. A few names to look out for in the future however might be; Stijn Schaars, Kerlon and Guy Demel."
In a shock announcement today, McMahon also sacked his assistant Garry Pendrey. He refused to comment on who might be replacing him. Tommy Burns is the favorite to get a promotion, but other names such as Mark Bowen, Neil Lennon, Tommy Craig and Andy Watson are not being ruled out.

My Mood
I am delighted to get my first win under my belt, it does a lot for my confidence and will hopefully make uncertain fans certain again. This will most certainly be the game I remember at Celtic.
McMahon today announced that he has signed a new assistant manager. Mark Bowen, formerly of Blackburn Rovers, will start his new role immediately. McMahon said, "Mark is a great guy, a great assistant manager and knows how to motivate players on match day, what more can you ask for in an assistant manager?" Mark Bowen is said to be "very very happy" with his new role at a new club. Celtic are hoping for a work permit to be granted to Brazilian wonderkid Kerlon. Kerlon will be signing for a season long loan deal at Celtic Park if accepted a work permit to enter the UK. McMahon refused to comment on weather or not Kerlon will be a regular starter or back-up to the likes of McGeady and Brown. James McMahon today announced that Artur Boruc, Shunsuke Nakamura and Aiden McGeady will be going nowhere if he can help it. Celtic's chief physio today said that Nakamura will be out for at least 2 weeks, maybe even 3 weeks. This comes as bad news for Celtic fans, most of them wondering who will take their free-kicks! Some Celtic fans were protesting outside the stadium today, urging the board to come to terms with the fact that an unknown manager will not help Celtic progress. James McMahon said, "If they are true followers of this wonderful football club, they will give me a chance this season before making any judgements on me.
*Note; I did not get 3 red cards, they should be sub off icons lol.*
Celtic Team 1. Artur Boruc 2. Andreas Hinkel 3. Lee Naylor 4. Stephen McManus (C) 5. Bobo Balde 6. Barry Robson 7. Aiden McGeady 8. Paul Hartley 9. Scott Brown ( Massimo Donati, 70') 10. Scott McDonald 11. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink ( Darren O'Dea, 70')
My Mood
Happy to get another win under my belt, now the end of pre-season training. I think it went pretty successful, I also think I have found my best striker to play. 6 goals in 2 games is astonishing.
News Celtic waiting for a work permit to be granted for Quinton Fortune. A descision is likely to be made on Tuesday 17th July. McMahon admitted that Fortune would be used as a first team regular with Lee Naylor providing back-up, at least until they sign someone else. A decision on Kerlon's work permit will be made on Wednesday 18th July. Celtic have been made joint favorites with Rangers to win the SPL. McMahon is said to be happy that the bookmakers feel the same way he does. Chris Killen has rejected a contract from Norwich City. He is out of favor at Park Head and McMahon seems keen to sell. His services have been offered to Blackpool and Hull. Evander Sno has said he has no intention of leaving Celtic, after manager McMahon said to Fulham manager Roy Hodgson that he will sell Sno if the right offer comes in. McMahon refused to comment. Loan bids for Nicky Riely have been accepted from Raith, Linlithgow Rose and Queen's Park.
