Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Celtic left-back Lee Naylor. Naylor has found himself out of place at Celtic following the arrival of Quinton Fortune. Bolton have payed Celtic £2.5m for him, which will also clear Celtic of £6k a week on their wage budget.
Celtic manager McMahon said, "I feel it is a good piece of business. We now have funds to sign a solid center-back that should stop us conceding goals, and clear up some of the wage budget." Lee Naylor said he didn't want to speak to the press about his transfer at this moment and time. A spokesperson for Bolton said, "We are happy with the transfer of Lee Naylor. He will become a very good player for us and will help us achieve our goal of avoiding relegation this season."
Lee Naylor is out of place at Celtic.
Lee Naylor passed his medical at around 12:00 today.
Celtic are expected to spend the money on a center-back. Some names you should be looking out for are: Danny Shittu; McMahon said to be a keen admirer of Shittu. Pascal Delhommeau; Would be a great signing for Celtic. Dean Leacock; Would add potential to Celtic.
Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan has also agreed terms with Peterborough, moving in a deal worth £31k.
Celtic also sending James McCarthey on loan to feeder club, and his former club Hamilton Accies.

Geoff Shreeves: Hello hello. I am once again joined by Celtic manager James McMahon. Good result for your team today, James. Do you think your side can keep that up all season? James McMahon: Definitely. I really think we have what ti takes to easily have the SPL racked up by Christmas.
Geoff Shreeves: Why did you decide to introduce such a young defender and such a quick change to your defense? James McMahon: Caddis has impressed in training, so it's only fair he got a shot. He will be my first choice right-back from now on. Hinkel, from previous World Cups and Euro Championships, we know he can play on the left.
Geoff Shreeves: So you think that you have found your best defense? James McMahon: No! Ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer. In all seriousness though, I think we need more back-up for central defense.
Geoff Shreeves: There is rumours about a few players going around, are they true? James McMahon: Yes, I am intrested in them, and have my scouts out watching them. But, another player who hasn't been mentioned yet who I am looking to bring in at the start of next season is Christophe Berra.
Geoff Shreeves: That would then, assuming you keep McManus and keep him captain, leave you with a hard decision about who will be captain, wouldn't it? James McMahon: It would, but just because Stephen is captain this season, doesn't mean that he is guaranteed a place in my squad next year. Him, like the rest of the squad, will need to impress this season if they want to stay here. I am planning having a massive clear-out in the summer.
Geoff Shreeves: Ok, thanks for that James. Back to the studio.

Delighted with my latest SPL win. Looking forward to the immense challenge that awaits in my next game in Toulouse.
Nothing has happened this week except what was mentioned about the transfers in the last post and that was big news so it deserved it's own update.
Next update; Toulouse (3)vs(1) Celtic. Wish me luck! Au Revoir

Geoff Shreeves: Tough luck again against Toulouse James. Do you think you deserve to go through? James McMahon: Well twice Toulouse have been somewhat luck to get anything from us, and now we have a mediocre team in the Champions League Group Stages instead of having a World Class team there.
Geoff Shreeves: What do you think went wrong tonight? James McMahon: Stephen McManus, that's what went wrong! I am going to go and have a work with him soon and tell him that unless he gets his finger out he will be dropped and removed as captain. He has young Darren O'Dea, John Kennedy and Pressley wanting a game too, so we wont miss him.
Geoff Shreeves: If anything did go right tonight, it was goalkeeper, and man of the match, Artur Boruc. Are you please with his performance? James McMahon: Once again, Boruc has shown he is in a different league from the other players on the park tonight.
Geoff Shreeves: He is beside you, could you please present him his champagne? James McMahon: Aye, no bother. *Turn and congratulates Boruc and hands over the booze.

I am delighted to be in the UEFA Cup, which may surprise some people. Let's be honest, we have every chance of winning the UEFA Cup, but not really much chance of winning the Champions League. I guess we are going to the final and returning with silverware!

Geoff Shreeves: Hi James. Another win you Celtic today, 5 wins in 5 games, 3 points clear at the top of the league. Do you think it will stay that way? James McMahon: Yes. We will win the league and the UEFA Cup.
Geoff Shreeves: What do you think of the UEFA Cup draw? James McMahon: Good. Being truthful, I would have took any team in the UEFA Cup, with maybe the exception of Ath. Madrid and Fiorentina.
Geoff Shreeves: Would you still rather be in the Champions League? James McMahon: I don't know. I am happy to have a chance of bringing back European silverware to Celtic Park, but disappointed to not represent Scotland in the Champions League.
Geoff Shreeves: We wish you luck for your European campaign.
Not posting a screenie, loads of teams in it, will need to take 2 and post them and can't be bothered.
Celtic were drawn again CSKA Sofia. McMahon is said to be delighted with this and is confident his side will win. The first leg is due to take place at Celtic Park on 20.09.2007.
Delighted to still be unbeaten in Scotland. Can't wait to play Rangers on the 20th of October and CSKA Sofia, which will hopefully make us qualify for the UEFA Cup Group Stages.
Celtic reject Swansea's £25k bid for Michael Staunton. Aiden McGeady was 2nd best player of the month and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was third. Aiden McGeady wins Young Player of the Month. Geoff Shreeves: Hi there, I am joined by James McMahon. 6 wins in 6 games, surely you wont need to strengthen in December. James McMahon: No. I will be looking to strengthen several positions next season however. We want to challenge for the Champions League in the next 4 years.
Geoff Shreeves: Don't you think that's a little optimistic? James McMahon: No. We will have the quality in our team to challenge the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United.
Geoff Shreeves: Has your defense started to bond together now? We notice you are not conceding as much goals anymore. James McMahon: Yes. They are starting to play great together. Young Caddis had a tremendous game today and I have been really pleased with him.
Geoff Shreeves: Your captain is injured. Any news on that? James McMahon: We have no news yet. We are all hoping that's it's not a long term injury.
Geoff Shreeves: What about Aiden McGeady? His form is nothing short or world class recently. James McMahon: He is a great player with great potential. He will turn into a class player for any team. We just need to try and hang on to him now.
Geoff Shreeves: Thanks James.
