My Mood

I am speechless that my first competitive game in charge of Celtic was a win, never mind a win by 5 goals. Hopefully this form will keep up for the whole season. Hopefully all the uncertain fans will be happy now.

News
Some Celtic fans today waved a banner, urging all fans to support the manager.
Celtic's Barry Robson and David Jones will be out for a week after suffering injuries during Celtic's 6-1 triumph over Kilmarnock.
During the transfer window, Celtic signed 4 players; Quinton Fortune (free), Kerlon (loan), James McCarthy (250k) and David Jones (2m). McMahon is delighted to have signed these players and believes they will be great for Celtic.
Celtic's Chris Killen has signed for Hull for 900k. The striker accepted the contract, but Celtic ahve to pay him £2,300k per week until 30th June 2010.
Celtic have offered contracts to both Dave Kitson and Leroy Lita. McMahon said that they will only be able to sign one of them, and he will make his decision later in the week.
Celtic have a 10m bid for Jimmy Braind turned down. McMahon refused to comment.
McMahon has placed Gary Caldwell, Derek Riordan and Jean-Joel Perrier-Doumbe on the transfer list.
Stephen McManus has been named Celtic captain, with Steven Pressley named vice-captain. Pressley is expected to play once his ban is lifted.
Celtic will play Toulouse in the Champions League 3rd Qualifying Stag. The first leg will be played in Glasgow.
Robson's goal for Celtic against Kilmarnock was described as 'The best goal in Scottish football in recent history.' It is an early Goal of the Month candidate, and why not? See the goal here;

*Note; once I am back from holiday, the updates will be much more detailed, with use of more graphics, and more sections added in!*

Haha. In McMahon I trust.

Brilliant banner mate and awesome result. What did you do? Promise the team new bikes for Christmas?

Keep up the good results and in no time you'll be dominating everything and everyone in your path.

Cheers ru :) I found a picture of a banner at parkhead, then filled it white, then added texture and text using a layer mask, pretty simple :) Cheers for the comments :)

Default Celtic Sign PSV Player!

Celtic Complete Signing of PSV Player
Friday, 10th August, 2007

Celtic have today completed the signing of Jefferson Farfan from PSV. The deal is tought to be around £7.5million. Farfan is expected to start against Falkirk on the 12th. McMahon said,
"I am delighted to have signed Farfan, he will be a great player for us! He is still young so he will become even better. I am not releasing any team news about the game as yet."
Farfan has already impressed players and staff in his first training session today. Celtic skipper McManus said,
"He just kept on scoring" and First Team Coach Tommy Burns said,
"He is amazing!"
Farfan has been given the number 23 jersey at Celtic Park and is expected to take number 10 from Vennegoor of Hesselink next season. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who played with Farfan at PSV, has said in an interview today,
"Jefferson is a great player and I can't wait to be re-united with him on the park!"

Next update; Falkirk vs Celtic; 12/8/2007

Geoff Shreeves: James, Geoff Shreeves from SkySports, a harsh result there, do you think you deserved to get beat by that margin?
James McMahon: No, not really to be honest. We didn't deserve to win or lose, I think a draw would have been a fairer result.

Geoff Shreeves: Do you think you can still qualify for the Champions League Group Stages?
James McMahon: It will be tough, but I believe that if we turn up on the night and give it our best in Toulouse, we have what it takes to qualify.

Geoff Shreeves: David Jones got injured today with what looks to be a thigh strain, which could potentially keep him out for 3 weeks. Will he be missed or do you have adequate cover?
James McMahon: Well, we have loads of players who can play in the centre of midfield, so he wont be missed too much.

Geoff Shreeves: Can you tell us why you left Scott McDonald out of the starting 11 today, and didn't bring him on when you clearly needed goals?
James McMahon: Because I am the manager. If you must know why, it is because due to his previous 2 game suspension, he was not up to a good level of fitness, and, therefore, I decided to bring Samaras on. He scored, and that in my mind is a good change.

************************************************** ****************

Derek Johnson: Derek Johnson here on 102.5, Clyde 1. We have Celtic manager James McMahon in the studio here today. James, surely you can't qualify now, can you?
James McMahon: Well, Derek, maybe that's what you would love to see, but it ain't over yet. We are not going down without a fight, and we can win in Toulouse!

Derek Johnson: Toulouse are the first team to beat you at Celtic Park in the Champions League for a considerable amount of time, so why are you so confident about going away from home, were you haven't won in a considerable amount of time, and be able to keep a clean sheet and score 3 goals?
James McMahon: Because we are Celtic Football Club, we don't play anti-football like the team in blue across the city. We have passion, we play football, we try and win games. We also have decent players and a world class support, everything that most teams need to help them lift their heads and get a win!

Derek Johnson: Why do you say bad things about Rangers playing anti-football, they are a good team and deserve to win their games.
[b]James McMahon: Why are you always biased towards Celtic and their fans? Why do you always find the negatives about Celtic and the positives about Rangers? We still do have a chance of qualifying for the Group Stage, and I am not going to let any Rangers fan who is biased towards Celtic tell me otherwise! If you are going to keep asking negative questions and saying negative things about my team, then I will answer no more questions!

Derek Johnson: Ok, getting a bit heated here, so we will leave it at that, thank you for coming on James, and best of luck for the rest of the season.
James McMahon: Hail Hail!

FC Kobenhavn 2-0 Steua
Slavia Prague 0-1 Liverpool
Arsenal 2-0 Genk
Zurich 0-2 Rangers

As expected, I am really annoyed and frustrated that we lost 3 goals in Celtic Park, never mind it making it almost impossible for us to qualify for the Champions League. Looks like there wont be a Europe for us, while those b******s in blue look certain to qualify!

Young Celtic striker Mike McGlinchy has complete his loan move to St. Johnstone.
10 bids for Cillian Sheridan, including offers from Hibs and Preston, have been accepted.
Celtic's young goalkeeper Michael McGovern has been sent to a specialist after picking up a hip injury. He is expected to be out of action for 2 months.
Celtic's new young left-back Ivan Obradovic has moved on loan to Oostende. Celtic will hope to keep him there for 3 seasons so he obtains Belgian nationality, making him obtain a British work permit.
Celtic have told Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos that Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is going nowhere unless the London club cough up £5million
Celtic target Guy Demel has joined Fenerbache. He will be earning £14k a week until 2012.

nice story mate, good pre-season and the start of your league season is brilliant. Sorry about the champions league match, it's one thing that will make you a great Celtic manager, guiding them to the league is good, but a good Champions league run will make you a great manager. Hope you get the 3 goals you need to get past the Qualifying round. KUTGW.
