After retiring from my rather average playing career, i decided to take up management at the age of 26. After just 1 month with no club i had a shock call from Real Murcia Chairman Jesús Samper for me to take up the vacant post at his club. I immediatly agreed to the job without a moments hesitation. They had just been promoted to La Liga and I flew out to the city of Murcia to start my task in charge of Los Pimentoneros (The "paprika-men"). Current Squad Goalkeepers: No signings need here have a strong keeper in Fabian Carini who is on loan from Internazionale, good backup in No.2 keeper Antonio Notario. Defence: I consider the team to currently have quite a stron back 4, with Experience, maybe an extra CB needed for a bit of added depth, but with my fullbacks i will be looking to use them often. Midfield, very strong down the wings, however will need a good quality DM or CM to bolster up the midfield. Attack: Very good strikers in Goitom and Baiano, will need an extra Striker to help if any injuries occur however. "press interview I am very Happy to be here at Murcia and i firmly believe that we will be in La Liga next season, we have the players here to do a very reasonable job this season. I wont be looking to buy anyone big, the only players i am after are a few more experienced free transfers to add to the depth of the team. | | | | 19-03-08, 12:29 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: West Bromwich Posts: 8 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Does Pedro Leon still play 4 Murcia. It was Russian Captain Ignashevich, i offered him a very good deal and hoped for the bets that he would choose me over the likes of Aston villa and Sampdoria. He was on a free which saves me my 140k transfer budget! Sergey Ignashevich Joins Real Murcia from CSKA Moscow on a free transfer. The Russia captain Ignashevich Welcomed the move after rejecting Bolton, Aston villa, FC Kobenhaven and a range of other clubs, he told the press: I am happy to be here in Spain, i have been offered a very good deal here, and i am hoping that i can take the club to new heights! I am very pleased to have captured the signing of Ignashevich, he is a world class player and he will certainly play a huge part in the clubs survival this season. | | | | 19-03-08, 05:38 PM | #6 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! Real Madrid: 2/1, Sevilla 14/1, Valencia 14/1, Villareal 25/1, At.Madrid 33/1. (reporter)Your side Murcia has been made 1000/1 Odds to win La liga, and with a real threat of relegation this season, what do you feel about these reports? (me) I feel quietly confident i have faith in this squad and with a huge increase in my current budget that the current Chairman Jesús Samper obviously has faith in me to do my job, and in my heart i feel that we will be in La liga well beyond this season. | | | | 25-03-08, 08:30 PM | #16 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! (me) Well i thought that i should unveil my new captain and Vice-captain. Juanma has been replaced as captain by Sergei Ignashevich and the new Vice captain is Ivan Javier Cuadrado. (Press) Why is it you have removed Juanma as captain? and why have you replaced him with a new arrival at the club? (Me) Sergei certainly has the leadership qualities we will need this season, we know this as he was the former CSKA captain, and he is the current Russia captain, and as for Juanma he is out on loan at Hercules, and the chances are he will almost certainly not have any part to play this season at the club, but if he impresses on loan, then it could kickstart his career and maybe he will be given his chance next season. that is all, thanks for attending. | | | | 25-03-08, 09:46 PM | #17 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! Espanyol - Murcia My STarting Lineup: GK:Fabian Carini, DR:Curro Torres, DC:Sergei ignashevich, DC:Ivan javier Cuadrado DL:Paco Pena, MR:Paco Gallardo, MC:Pablo Garcia, ML:Mario Reguiero AMC:Abel. ST:Henok Goitom ST:Fernando Baiano 1st Half: 3mins: David Garcia beats Curro torres with ease and crosses beautifully for valdo who gets a free header, he hits the bar! how unlucky! 6mins: Baiano plays a spot on through ball to Abel who is through on goal, hits it straight at the keeper and the defence clear the danger. GOAL! 20 mins! Goitom came deep, drew the defence to him, which opened up space for Gallardo to run down the wing, he gives it to gallardo who spots Abel's run into the box, he plays a ball straight across the face of goal, the defence and keeper miss the ball completely and Abel smashes the ball into the roff of the net at the far post to make it 1-0 to the visitors. GOAL! 23:30 mins: a Paco Gallardo corner, Baiano ran in and attacked the near post, got a great connection and beats Kameni with ease. GOAL! 26:18 mins: Paco Gallardo picks up the ball in his own half but spots Goitom's run and plays a fantastic ball over the top, Gooitom beats the offside trap and shoots for goal! saved by Kameni! however he gets onto the rebound and makes it 3-0 for Murcia! what a game this is turning into for Paco Gallardo 3 assists now! 36 mins: Curro Torres picks up the ball outside the Espanyol area, he shoots first time, and hits the crossbar! how unfortunate! GOAL! 36:48 mins: Long ball upfield by the espanyol defence, Carini comes out to the edge of his area.............However he is beaten to it by Tamudo who heads it over the Uruguayan stopper, what a howler! a glimmer of hope for the home side 1-3 GOAL! 41 mins: Torres passes to goitom 45 yards from goal. first he beats David Garcia as he cuts inside, he then takes the ball cooly past LaCruz before bearing down on goal, and he looks directly into Kameni's eyes as he drives it past him at his near post! 1-4 To Murcia Half Time Espanyol 1 - 4 Murcia Subs: None Tactical changes:None 2nd Half: GOAL! 45:32 mins: LaCruz intercepts a Reguiero through ball, however he passes the ball straight into the path of Fernando Baiano who takes a touch before unleashing one hell of a strike, it was like a missile flying into the top corner of Kameni's net from 30 yards! 1-5 to Murcia 59 mins: a david Garcia cross through to Valdo, he heads it towards the top corner however is denied thanks to an emphatic save from Fabian Carini. GOAL! 62 mins: De La pena plays it to Tamudo who shoots first time and it just slips past Carini's left hand! 63 mins: Baiano pulls up with an injury. SUBS: Baiano off. Andrejev on Tactical change. Pablo Garci moves back into the DM position, and Abel moves into the CM position, it looks as though Murcia have now gone more defensive for the final 30 minutes. GOAL! 71 mins: Luis Garcia picks up a long ball by Valdo, he beats Ignashevich to the ball and cooly slots home past Carini 93 mins: Andrejev uses his blistering pace to beat LaCruz to a long ball from Cuadrado, he plays a beautiful ball across the face of the goal, goitom gets the final touch, but its stopped by Kameni's body, should of scored there. FullTime Espanyol 3 - 5 Murcia Manager Overview: I thought we played magnificant and we deserved all 5 goals, however Espanyol did not deserve to bag 3 goal of their own, and they were all down to our own defensive errors, which i will be addressing for the next game. | | | | 25-03-08, 09:53 PM | #18 (permalink) | | FMF DB Update Scout & FMF Police Chief Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Knaresborough Posts: 2,716 Thanks: 710 Thanked 233 Times in 192 Posts | What a fantastic match!!!!!
