29th August 2007 Domenichoni Interview on latest signing

Well i am happy to Unveil my latest addition to the playing squad here at Real Murcia.

His name is Leonardo Ponzio, i believe he is a great addition to our squad and i am delighted to have captured him for the club.

I now believe my summer spending has now finished, and i thank the board for giving me the money to spend, even if it has dented the clubs bank balance, i believe that with these new additions we can push on to pursue future goals.

(Author note)

I showed a screenie of my overview so you can get an idea of my finances. thanks for your support and hope you enjoy the rest of my story!

2nd september 2007

Murcia Face difficult Valencia challenge.

Pre match odds
Murcia 3/1 draw 2/1 Valencia 4/5(fav)

Pre-match interview:

i personally feel that although we are infront of our own fans today, we will be up against the odds to beat this strong Valencia squad, im not expecting a result here but i will be asking my players for a committed performance.

Match squad:

GK:Fabian Carini,

DR:Curro Torres,DC:Sergei ignashevich,DC:Ivan javier Cuadrado, DL:Paco Pena,

MR:Paco Gallardo,MC:Leonardo Ponzio,ML:Mario Reguiero

AMC:Abel

ST:Henok Goitom ST:Inigo

Inigo steps in for the injured Baiano.

First Half.

Goal! 1:21 mins: Paco gallardo gives a sloppy pass back to Curro torres, the ball is intercepted by Baraja who passes to Silva, he spots Carini off his line and lobs him with a fantastic chip, Carini had no chance.

11 mins: Gallardo plays in an outswinging corner towards Inigo who gets his head onto the ball, straight at Canizares however, he holds his head in disbelief he knows it should of been a goal,

17 mins: Silva shoots from a freekick at an audacious 35 yards from the goal, Carini makes a world class save to deny Silva his 2nd goal.

27 mins: Abel gets a freekick after a harsh challenge by Baraja, he passes it out to Cuadrado, who then spreads it out wide to Paco Gallardo, he plays a fantastic ball into the box, Canizarez doesnt deal with it, it falls into the path of Inigo who hammers the ball onto the crossbar and out for a goal kick, yet another easy chance wasted for the Murcia striker.

37 mins: Edu plays it to Silva who shoots first time fro 25 yards, the ball clatters off of the upright!! and Carini gratefully pounces on the loose ball.

Half time
Murcia 0 - 1 Valencia
Subs:
Paco Gallardo off, Pablo Garcia on.
Inigo off, Nikita Andrejev on.
Tactical changes: Pablo Garcia moves into the DM position and Ponzio moves out into the MR position in place of Gallardo.
Switched the focus of our attack to focus down the wings.

2nd Half.

53 mins: Abel picks up the ball fron a paco pena throw in, he cuts inside and shoots, and forces a fantastic save from Canizares.

67 mins: Paco Pena recieves the ball from Reguiero, he plays a great diagonal ball into the path off Goitom who heads home, however the referee had already blown his whistle for offside, Goitom can have no complaints with that decision.

74 mins: Marchena plays it through to Villa with a defence splitting pass, he runs onto the ball before powering it past Carini, it wont count however it has been ruled as offside!! Villa looks Furious with the decision!

Goal! 75:21 mins: Silva picks up the ball from Miguel, he then casually beats Pablo Garcia before rifling in a shot from 30 yards, Carini well beaten, fantastic strike.

80 mins: reguiero plays a fantastic cross into the box from a corner, Cuadrado arrives late and gets a great connection with the ball, heads it straight at Canizares however, a great opportunity wasted.

FullTime

Murcia 0 - 2 Valencia

Manager Overview: well, where do i begin? Silva ripped our team apart today, what a player he is we just couldnt cope with him today. but we didnt deserve anything today we had 6 shots compared to their 21 shots, so all in all they deserved it more than we did. however on a good note we didnt play that badly and we knew it would be very tough against one of the best sides in the country.

Congrats on the signing of Ponzio, I hope he can do well for you.

Unlucky with the Valencia result, was always gonna be tricky!

Brilliant result away to Osasuna though, they've got a good side!

The commitment going into this is great, the matches must take you a while!

Keep it up!
