Pre Season Is Going To Be An Important One This Year Because Of The Managerial Change,The Games Will Be Used To Try Out New Tactics And Also For New Signings Anderson,Nani And Hargreaves To Get A Feel For What It Is Like To Wear The Red Of Manchester United

Pre Season Results

Manchester United 1 Antwerp 1
Manchester United 7 Seattle 0

Managers Opinion On Pre Season

I Think Pre Season Worked Out Well For Us A Couple Of The Results Were Disappointing But We Were Unbeaten So The Lads Done Well,Im Pleased With The New Formation We Are Working On And Feel The Players Have Adjusted Well To The Way I Want Them To Play,Im Also Very Happy With The New Lads Who Have Settled Very Well Indeed,The Most Pleasing Aspect For Me About Pre Season Was The Win Against Chelsea As Its Always Nice To Get A Win Against Teams Most Likely To Challenge You In All Competitions This Season

Coming Up In August

August Sees The Start Of The Premier League,And Manchester United Have A Difficult Opening Fixture Away At Bitter Rivals Manchester City,They Also Play Derby,West Ham And Blackburn In The Month

September Review (manutd.com)

As We Enter The 2nd Month Of The Season,The Red Devils Look Like They Are Going To Be The Team To Beat In The Premier League,4 Wins And 4 Clean Sheets In August Including Victory Over Manchester City Sees United Top Of The Table,September Is A Busy Month For The Defending Champions As It Sees The Start Of The UEFA Champions League And Also The Carling Cup,With 4 League Games Thrown In Including Games Against Arsenal And Chelsea It Is Sure To Be A Testing Time.

In The UEFA Champions League Manchester United Have Been Handed What Looks Like A Good Draw,Being Drawn Alongside Celtic Of Scotland,Lazio Of Italy And Also AEK Athens Of Greece,The Red Devils Must Surely Be Looking Beyond The Group Stage And Looking To Wrap Up Qualification As Soon As Possible.

September Results

Reading 0 Manchester United 2
Manchester United 2 Birmingham 0
Celtic 1 Manchester United 3 (UEFA Champions League)
Chelsea 0 Manchester United 0
Portsmouth 0 Manchester United 1 (Carling Cup 3rd Round)
Manchester United 3 Arsenal 1

Manager Reaction To The Month With Sky Sports News

Claire Tomlinson - Good Afternoon Mr Flaherty,September Has Been A Busy Month For You And Your Players With 4 League Games Aswell As Champions League And Carling Cup Games How Do You Feel You Coped With The Demands Of The Fixture List

Kieran Flaherty - Hello Claire,As You Have Said We Had A Busy Month With 6 Games In Total Being Played Only 2 Of Which Were At Home,I Feel We Did Very Well Indeed And The Performences We Had Were Very Pleasing Especially Against Arsenal And Chelsea,2 Of Our Rivals For The League,To Come Through Them Unbeaten Is A Big Confidence Booster To The Lads

Claire Tomlinson - Yes Them Results Could Be Very Important Come May For Your Team,I Just Want To Move On And Have A Word With You About The Champions League Draw,What Are Your Feelings About Your Opponents Celtic,Lazio And AEK

Kieran Flaherty - Well Every Team In The Champions League Are Dangerous But To Be Honest I Was Just Glad That We Avoided Any Long Trips,Scotland Is Just A Hour Away And Italy Not Too Far Aswell So I Was Happy With That,I Was Very Pleased With The Result In Glasgow,To Win 3-1 Away Is A Great Achievement As In Past Years Our Away Results Havent Been Great Outside Of Manchester,If We Can Put In Perfomences Like That Away From Home We Will Be Up There At The End Of The Season At The Business End Of The Competition

Claire Tomlinson - Just Before We Go I Just Want To Talk About A Couple Of Individuals,Going Forward Wayne Rooney Scored 7 Goals This Month But You Lost Cristiano Ronaldo To Injury How Do You Feel Your Attacking Options Are,Also Your Defence Has Been Superb More Than 600 Minutes Without Conceding At The Beginning Of The Season

Kieran Flaherty - Well Wayne Has Been In Terrific Form Not Just Scoring Goals But Also His Work Rate Has Been Brilliant,The News On Cristiano Is That He Has Fractured Ribs And Is Going To Be Out For A Month Which Is Unfortunate However We Do Have Nani And Ryan (Giggs) Who Can Play That Position,The Defence Has Really Pleased Me,Only Conceding 1 Goal In The 1st 8 Games Is Brilliant And Is What Is Needed If We Are Goin To Be Succesfull

Claire Tomlinson - Thank You For Your Input Again This Month And Good Luck In October,Speak To You Then

Kieran Flaherty - Thank You Very Much

Positives In September

Rooneys 7 Goals In 6 Games
Carling Cup Progress
Young Player Of The Month (Rooney)
Undefeated Against Arsenal And Chelsea

Negatives In September

Ronaldo Rib Injury (1 Month Out)

Anderson - The Future

still undefeated, and only 2 goals conceded
too bad youre united, or else i wouldve been happy for ya
for the injuries, im not sure who you have as a physio, but try to get someone wiht 19 or 20 in physiotherapy
and your training might be a little too hard on the players as well
