Default Darlington - Heading For League 1

Now In Mid November, Heres A brief overview on how Darlington are doing:

Roberto Hongo took over Darlington as manager in July. He signed Lokando from Southend for 22k. After a bad pre-season (having only Won 1 and lost the rest), he wasnt expected to do very well. Media predicted that Darlington would reach 12th. But Hongo surprised many.

He wasted no time taking them to top of League 2. He took them to Second round Of the League Cup, where they lost 4-0 to Manchester City, And First Round Of Johnstone Trophy, Where they lost 3-2 to Leeds. His team are unbeaten in 18 games and they have only drawed 3 and lost 2 so far....

With the loan transfer deadline closing in one week, Hongo wasted no times adding 3 more players on loan. He signed Craig Lindfield and Jack Hobbs from Liverpool, and Nicky Featherstone from Hull.

"We need more players if we are going to win the league and I am glad that these 3 players have decided to sign for us on loan," Says Hongo

4 Games Later
Lindfield Scores 4 Goals, from 4 games (2 as a sub)
Featherstone, 1 Assist, 3 games (Hes getting better every game)
Hobbs - PLayed 3 games, Getting Better Every Game

The goalkeeper on loan from Liverpool was excellent today, making plenty of cracking saves.

Darlington Manager:
"I'm certainly shocked from their comeback. We always let in late goals but today was just terrible. We still need to work on our defence and not trying to let in late goals," said an unimpressed Hongo.

Although they have drawn today, their unbeaten league run continues to 19 now and their league standing remains 1st. However, Bradford has now closed the gap from 11 points to 9points.

Darlingtons next game is Millwall in the Fa Cup second round. Millwall are currently 5th in League 1.
