Default Bury - Season 2

I was disapointed after last season but that is behind us now and we start afresh.

The board have given me £0 transfer funds as our finances are precarious but I do have spare funds for wages so i have been hunting around and have found some good players on free transfers.

Transfer Activity: IN
Luke Potter - Free - Left Back from Barnsley
Che Wilson - Free - Left back from Southend
Aaron Brown - Free - Centre back from Reading
Luke Joyce - Free - Centre Midfielder from Carlisle
James Ashmore - Loan - Centre Midfielder from Sheffield Utd
Jason Mycoe - Free - Attacking Midfielder from Leeds
Kelvin Etuhu - Loan - Striker from Man City

Transfer Activity: OUT
Colin Woodthorpe - Released
Glynn Hurst - Released
Lee Peatfield - Released
Andrew Mangham - Released
Dave Challinor - Released
Dale Stephens - Released
James Dean - Released
Ben Leonard - Released

The experts predict I will finish in 19th place however I feel we have a much stronger squad this year and am expecting to make a push for the play-offs. It could be difficult to begin with as the new players bed in but if we can pick up some early points and keep morale high we can suprise a few people. I am hopefull of a good cup run with a good draw against a premiership team to raise funds as well.

Pre-season was as usual poor but it was more about raising money playing big teams and getting fitness not winning matches.

Its better to burn out than to fade away

August

A busy month with 7 games and a mixed bag of reults. My main concern is that we have had 3 red cards already which has cost us results.

Barnet 1 - 2 Bury (W)
Brentford 2 - 1 Bury (L)
Bury 1 - 0 Macclesfield (W)
Bury 2 - 3 Norwich (L) League Cup 1st Round
Bury 1 - 1 Wycombe (D)
Bury 0 - 2 Shrewsbury (L)
Bury 0 - 0 Grimsby (D)

8 points gained this month
15th place in League Two

Its better to burn out than to fade away

September

Its a funny old game.......
Just as I think we have turned the corner and will start to push up the table we have some poor results. This has not been helped with press speculation that Alex fernandez will be moving on either.

Bury 4 - 2 Rotherham (W) Johnstone's Paint Trophy 1st round
Chesterfield 2 - 1 Bury (L)
Bury 2 - 2 Morecambe (D)
Walsall 1 - 3 Bury (W)
Darlington 3 - 2 Bury (L)
Bury 0 - 1 Stockport (L)

Only 4 points this month and we have dropped to 18th in league two

October

October was a much better month.

Bury 2 - 0 MK Dons (W)
Bury 2 - 1 Oldham (W) Johnstone's Paint Trophy 2nd round
Stevenage 4 - 1 Bury (L)
Bury 5 - 2 Rotherham (W)
Port Vale 2 - 2 Bury (D)

7 points out of 12 and through to the quarter finals
16th in League Two

If we can keep this form up then I am hopefull of the playoffs.

November was a great month. We are playing some excellent football and moving up towards the top part of the table. The most enjoyable aspect is we have a never say die attitude even if we are behind we keep playing till the final whistle looking for that vital goal.

Here are some screenshots of my results, league table, finances and squad.

RESULTS

FINANCES

10 out of 12 points
8th in League Two

End of Season

What a season, Bury have won promotion via the playoffs. The players really came together and produced some fantastic performances.

Alex Fernandez scored an amazing 54 goals

We finished in 6th place and beat Rochdale and Northampton to win promotion to League Division two.

Now the hard work begins as we plan to try to stay in league one.
