Abroad

Scott Carson - 21 - English - Right - Loan ( Liverpool ) - 20k per week
Although on Loan from Liverpool he is the stongest Keeper at the club which says something about the current Goal Keeper's at the club, will keep clean sheets against any team if given the right defence in front of him.I would recommend try signing him but Liverpool can be stubborn regarding the sale and it varies from game to game if they will sell him.
Thomas Sorenson - 31 - Danish - Right - 3.1m - 11.5k per week
Technically he would be best keeper at the club if Carson was not on Loan for the season but he is a above average Keeper and would get in any mid-table premiership team but if you want the club progress to be challenging for Europe or the League Title you will need a stronger Keeper than Sorenson, best sell him cause he wont keep many clean sheets and will most likely cost your team points.
Stuart Taylor - 25 - English - Right - 1.9m - 4k per week
This guy should not be rated as a Premiership Keeper at all, maybe a Championship Goal Keeper at best, so it would be best to sell him cause he will never be a starter.
David Bevan - 18 - Irish - Right - 7k - 250 per week
Will never be a starter for any future eleven, maybe a substitute at best and that would even depend on luck regarding improvement.Try keeping him for about 3 season's to see if there might be improvements.Deemed a risk and 50/50.
Left Backs
Wilfred Bouma - 29 - Dutch - Left - 3.2m - 12k per week
Wilfred is just above average at this position and will struggle against the top teams,he will try is best when playing but I feel playing him in the team could possibly affect European qualification.Best to sell him but only if you have a replacement lined up.
Gareth Barry - 26- English - Left - 4.2m - 28k per week
The Villa Captain is regarded one of the Best Players in the current team , can play in multiple positions which is a bonus for any team.He is a solid Left Back,a decent Defensive Midfielder,a very good Left Midfielder and even better in the centre.I would not even think about selling such a important player.
Right Backs
Olof Mellberg - 29 - Swedish - Right - 4.6m - 17.5k per week
In a position which is definately the weakest area in the Villa team, the only reconisable player at this position is Mellberg at the moment, although he can do a above average job against most opposition in the league,he is a better centre back than a right back to be honest.Mellberg in all fairness will struggle to get a starting place if the right back place was not properly covered.Keep him as a spare centre back. There are a couple of younger Right Backs in the reserve team but it is a waste of time mentioning them cause they are not good enough for First Team football.
Centre Backs
Zat Knight - 27 - English - Right - 3.7m - 10k per week
Knight is a good Centre Back and is the strongest out of all the current players at this position, this is the strongest area in the team with a good choice for players to choose from. But Knight is definately a Key Player.
Stephen O'Halloran - 19 - Irish - Left - 1.7m - 500 per week
He will not be good enough for the First Team in the first season at least, best thing to do is relegate him to the reserves and maybe try him against weaker teams when a opportunity is available,it is worth knowing that he can play as a Left Back to.Give him a new deal and keep him for a couple of seasons to see if he improves.
Gary Cahill - 21 - English - Right - 3.4m - 3.5k per week
He is a good Centre Back but I would advise you not to play him versus the likes of Chelsea,Liverpool,Arsenal or Manchester United cause you will concede alot of goals, any other opposition would be fine.Overall he is worth keeping cause he does slightly improves in the future.
Curtis Davies - 22- English - Right - 2.5m - 15k per week
Transfer as already been agreed with WBA for 10m for next season and you cannot cancel it unfortunately, although he improves alot and becomes a quality player the price tag is way too much for him.Curtis will definately get is fair share of First Team football cause he should be a Key member of the team and you should not worry putting him in the team against any opposition cause he will do a good job.
Martin Laursen - 29 - Danish - Right - 3.3m - 13.5k per week
Laursen is a very good defender who can either start in the First Team or start on the bench, most likely the third best person at this position from the current squad, worth keeping for a bit at least cause he can still do the job for the team.
Midfield Left
Patrick Berger - 33- Czech - Left - 1m - 13k per week
Might be a good player for a Championship team or a relegation battle team but not a player for Villa, if you want to do well at Villa and make them a success you need to get rid of those who wont cut it,so my suggestion would be to sell him.
Ashley Young - 21 - English - Either - 8m - 30k per week
One of the best players at Villa, with quality attributes. Can play on both wings and do a good job, aswell as a quality winger he can play up front if needed be but I would not recommend it.But the scariest thing about Ashley is he can still improve,he is a Key Player for the team and will be for a while.
Midfield Right
Shaun Maloney - 24 - Scottish - Either - 1m - 12k per week
Probably underrated comparing to other players at the level.Maloney is a asset to the club to be honest, although he can play on both wings is best positions are either on the Right wing or as a centre Midfield.Sometimes if needed to play up front he can but is more effective against better oppposition than teams near the foot of the table.Definately worth keeping.
Moustapha Salifou - 24 - Togolese - Right - 1.9m - 14k per week
I would not recommend started this guy,he will never be good enough to wear a Villa shirt anytime soon.Best to sell him to some Championship team and do not expect alot of cash for him.
Midfield Centre
Nigel Reo-Coker - 23 - English - Right - 8.5m - 30k per week
Regarded as a Key player for Villa, very strong player in the centre of the park can do a excellent job versus any team domestically or in Europe.I normally add to the Midfield area and play him in a Defensive Midfielder position where he is more effective and even scores from there to.Do not sell him.
Isaiah Osbourne - 19 - English - Right - 1.4m - 1.5k per week
One of the rising stars at Villa who has a good future ahead of him.Try avoid playing him much in the First season only use him occasionally against weaker teams it will be worth it in the end.Worth Keeping.
Craig Gardner - 20 - English - Right - 2.7m - 3.5k per week
Although is attributes would suggest he is a good player, this is not really true caue he is not a consitent performer and will most likely let the team down alot especially in the first season.I would recommend playing him in a few games in the first season and than in the second season there is a slim possibility he may be ready if not give him another year.Could be deemed a risk.
Stiliyan Petrov - 28 - Bulgarian - Right - 4m - 30k per week
Petrov is a top player and will do well when ever he plays for Villa very strong Midfielder who will most likely lead the asssist column for the team.Worth keeping for a few seasons at least, but if there is a chance to sell him then do so and bring someone in.
John Carew - 27 - Norweigan - Right - 4.8m - 35k per week
I would say that Carew is the most consitent out of the current choice of strikers. He can play aginst any top teams and on is day score for fun,Carew should be regarded as a Key player in the team and you should not sell him.
Gabriel Agbonlahor - 20 - English - Right - 4.3m - 8k per week
This guy is a very good player, aswell as a striker he is good on the Attacking Midfielder position and will get alot of assists. Also do not worry about the attributes cause they improve very fast and in the future he will be a decent player although he can already get in the team,Do not sell him.
Luke Moore - 21 - English - Right - 5.2m - 6.5k per week
Moore is a decent striker who can score when given the chance but the only issue is at times Luke goes on a bad streak of not scoring, worth keeping though as he becomes more consitent as he gets older.Maybe a sub for the first season.
Marlon Harewood - 27 - English - Right - 3.7m - 20k per season
I learnt a trick with Harewood which works most of the time,if he fails to score in the first couple of games relegate him to the reserves and after a few reserve games put him back in the first team and he will start scoring alot.Really Harewood is a good striker but can have poor displays more than good ones.
