Who are they :-S??? Accrington Stanley Accrington Stanley is a football club from Accrington in Lancashire, in the north-west of England, formed in 1968. They are also known as the Stanley, the Reds, and the world's most famous little club. They gained much of their popularity because of a 1980s English milk commercial (which you can watch below) that is until John Coleman brought the club into League 2; and I followed the trend and took them to the Championship - so far. Can YOU recreate the form I had to take Accrington Stanley to the top? Well read on for some tips and tricks Nation - England Year founded - 1968 Status - Professional Reputation - Regional Chairman Status - Loves the Club Favoured Personnel - Paul Mullin, Brett Ormerod, John Coleman Fierce Rivals - York, Barrow Other Rivals - Altrincham, Morecambe, Southport Finances - Okay Estimated Value - 5.25m (Loan Debt 2.9 million) Stadium - Crown Ground (Really Fraser Eagle Stadium) Stadium Capacity - 5075, expandable at the end of the season, max expansion is 10000 Training Facilities - Adequate Youth Facilities - Basic Continental Competition - None Media Prediction - 23rd Squad Average - 23 Squad personality - Determined Captain - ________ Vice-Captain - Paul Carden Star Players - Kenny Arthur, Leam Richardson, Romuald Boco Rising Stars - Shaun Whalley is the only player with good potential Manager - John Coleman Chairman - Eric Whalley Finances - _________ Transfer Budget - about 7k Parent Club - Liverpool Goalkeepers - Kenny Arthur is a great Goalkeeper who you should keep at least until you reach the premeirship, he has been playing well for me even in the championship
- Ian Dunbavin - Okay backup for League 2, get rid of him if you can get the money
Defenders - Leam Richardson will serve you well for a few seasons
- Philip Edwards has some potential, and is a good backup as well
- Sean Webb and Mark Roberts are good defenders for League 2 and League 1
Midfielders - Andy Proctor is a good player for League 2, same with Paul Carden, but not much use afterwards
- Graham Branch will give your team some experience on the left, a good player for League 2
- Shaun Whalley has good Potential (possible Championship level), play him as a backup on the right (see Recommended Signings)
Strikers - Romuald Boco is one your best players, and the only international in the team. Play him as an attacking midfielder or as a striker. He plays great as them. Or even central midfielder as well, he is pretty good there too
- Chris McGrail is pretty good for League 2
- I didn't ever play Paul Mullin so im sorry about that
Tactics and Training - I used a 4-4-2 diamond; it has gotten me into the championship in 3 seasons
- I used Tug's Training - it has served me well
Who To Buy - In my 4th season, I only have Kenny Arthur, Leam Richardson, Philip Edwards and Shaun Whalley from the original team I took over
- You need to strengthen at the back, try to get Jack Hobbs on loan from Liverpool (parent club)
- Also available is Oscar Carmelo Sanchez - but is a little bit expensive for you
- Also look for a full-back who can play both sides
- A defensive midfielder - either Jay Spearing or Damien Plessis on a season long loan from Liverpool
- A right winger - Owen Price is free - and he is amazing
- An attacking midfielder - Scott Donnelly is also free and will serve you well till the championship
- A left winger - Sean Evans from Man Utd is pretty good
- A striker - get Alex Fernandez for free, and you will never ever regret it
- You can also try Frazier Campbell, never had him but he is apparently very good and he comes on loan to League 2 teams
Well that's it - for the blanks and italics in the Team info, I apologoize because the data for them is from my 4th season; I will edit it asap In addition, you can try my Accrington Thread, found by clicking on my sig, for some more help Last edited by apthered; 02-03-08 at 01:31 AM. | | | | 21-02-08, 10:36 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Co-founder of the cult Ruism Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Dundalk, Ireland Posts: 2,357 Thanks: 195 Thanked 309 Times in 249 Posts | very nicely done ap, great to see you got the guide up after all mate, hope to see more in the future :P | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to John10 For This Useful Post: | | 22-02-08, 12:02 AM | #3 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Adelaide Posts: 630 Thanks: 49 Thanked 66 Times in 66 Posts | Good guide mate | Cheers Spanish | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to walkinshaw For This Useful Post: | | 22-02-08, 12:24 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Scout For FMF's DB Update Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Mississauga, near Toronto Posts: 1,609 Thanks: 212 Thanked 217 Times in 179 Posts | thanks guys yeah finally i got it up :D maybe i can do some player guides of the players i signed too :) | | | | 22-02-08, 12:45 AM | #5 (permalink) | | The next Harry Redknapp Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Birmingham (Born an Bred in Salford tho :P) Posts: 685 Thanks: 64 Thanked 108 Times in 94 Posts | Great guide mate very indepth and full of good info nice one KUTGW!! | Current Game :- Zenit St. Petersburg 07/08 RFPL Winner | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to scholesy18 For This Useful Post: | | 22-02-08, 07:20 AM | #6 (permalink) | | FMF Donater/ FMF Police Co-Chief Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Guildford Posts: 723 Thanks: 97 Thanked 100 Times in 96 Posts | cheers mate ;) | Thanks Liveru You Legend | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to chrisashmore For This Useful Post: | | 08-04-08, 02:55 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Co-founder of FMFormation's Graphical Challenges Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Near Glasgow Posts: 2,066 Thanks: 344 Thanked 235 Times in 127 Posts | Worth adding Cillian Sheridan scored 32 goals for me by December. | R.I.P Tommy Burns - You'll Never Walk Alone | | | 10-04-08, 03:25 PM | #8 (permalink) | | Touted as a new David Ginola: Im an FMF'er, Not a movie star Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: wiltshire Posts: 1,661 Thanks: 226 Thanked 370 Times in 348 Posts | Good guide there Ap, I grew up with that commercial, it brings back memories | Signature-Care of Ru Top FMF GFX Artist Current game Spain/Birmingham 08-09 | | | 14-04-08, 08:46 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Caerphilly Posts: 254 Thanks: 42 Thanked 39 Times in 37 Posts | A exellent guide I diden't even know most of this stuff about Accrington Stanley. :D | | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
