I have been playng football manager for years (I even played CM 2!!), but i have to admit that its tough. I am currently managing Hartlepool (I always manage them!!), and i have been playing 4-4-2, defensive, narrow, man marking defenders, with a target man. My results have been terrible, my team is 24th and im leaking goals like no mans business. Help!!!
What Fed can do with a grape, I can't do with a beach ball!

If not then maybe defend deep and zonal. That might be the difference. If you are defending tight against a fast striker then its easy for them to turn round your defence and attack. Also if you're playing a 4-4-2 maybe try using the width of the field as well and get some crosses in.
