The method I'm about to describe does perhaps exploit a weakness in the game coding, that allows you to bypass the staff limits, but it does 100% work. So Cleon, rashidi1 & wwfan, it may be worth adding this thread to the Tactics Bible for future reference. Here's a screenshot of my current staff levels with Granada CF in the Spanish Segunda B4, who had a board limit of "no more than 8 coaches". As you can clearly see, a lot more than 8 coaches... How to do it First of all, get rid of the coaches you don't want. Do this either by terminating their contract, or mutual termination, which usually costs less if they agree. Coaches you want to keep, offer then all new contracts as Assistant Manager. New coaches you want to sign, offer them normal coach contracts, then immedately after they've signed with your club, offer them a new contract as Assistant Manager. You'll soon see that you have many Assistant Managers. Once you have the amount of coaches you want, covering all the training positions you need, offer all of them but your "true" Assistant Manager, back to coach contracts. They will accept. Hey presto! You have all the coaches you want. In theory, you can do this as many times as you want, as there's clearly a loop-hole in the coding that hasn't been closed to stop it. I always use this method to get at least two coaches for each individual training position, as follows: 1x Assistant Manager 2x Strength Coaches (Fitness Coach) 2x Aerobic Coaches (Fitness Coach) 2x Goalkeeping Coaches 2x Tactics Coaches 2x Ball Control Coaches 2x Defending Coaches 2x Attacking Coaches 2x Shooting Coaches 2x Set Pieces Coaches By having this quantity of coaches for each training position, I ensure that even if I have a huge squad of players, no coaches are ever over-worked and therefore training in any area never suffers as a result of a lack of coaches. | | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to heathxxx For This Useful Post: | | 08-05-08, 02:40 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 13 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post | might work in spain but not in england my board tells me im only allowed one assistant manager, the board keep cancelling my staff transfers. | | | | | 08-05-08, 02:58 PM | #3 (permalink) | | What Spanish does with a football, I can do with an orange. Got a lot of extra coaches since I was only allowed to have 2 lol. Like having only part-time players wasn't bad enough... @ Leanardo; Are you sure you've followed the guide carefully? I know that when you try to sign another ass. manager, it gets canceled because your board doesn't think you need another one. However, letting a current coach sign a new contract but this time as an ass. manager should be allowed by your board. Get new coaches just as coaches, not as ass. managers. P.S. Since this is also a guide, I've copied to thread to the Guides section as well and made it sticky in here. | Become a FMF Donator and enjoy the many extras! The glitch in FM06, FM07 & FM08 is that if you promote a coach to the Assistant Manager role, the limits are bypassed. If you can, offer all the coaches you want to keep, already at your club, Assistant Manager contracts. Once they're Assistant Managers, the game does not recognise them as taking up "coach" spaces. Follow the guide as I set out and this will work, regardless of what club, league or country your playing. The only true restriction is finances. If trying to sign more staff and you don't have any free wage budget, obviously you won't be able to sign more staff. Exactly the same as if you're trying to sign more players, but don't have any wage budget left. | | | | | 10-05-08, 10:25 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 312 Thanks: 32 Thanked 135 Times in 61 Posts | One problem. It happens now & again. I've had a couple of coaches who only want to be coaches. To save time, look at the board limit first. Let's say you've got 2 coaches that don't want to be assistant managers and a limit of 8 coaches. That gives you 6 slots to play with. Offer all the coaches or youth coaches you want to keep assistant manager contracts and free up the slots. Hire more coaches, purely as coaches, as mentioned in the original post. When they join, immediately offer them assistant manager contracts. It's entirely optional if you want to leave them as assistant managers, or offer them contracts back to coaches. I have once or twice though, seen one of the newly contracted coaches to assistant manager become THE assistant, which I didn't want to happen. This is mainly why when I've got the quantity of staff I need, I contract them back as coaches, leaving just one assistant manager. Just to point out also, I never bother with youth coaches. To my mind they're a waste of a slot, as a normal coach can train both the first team and the youth team players, making a the youth coach role purely cosmetic in my opinion. I have once or twice had 7x first team coaches and 7x youth team coaches. However, if you've got quite full training schedules with a lot of players, my preference is always 2x coaches for each training area. For example, I always have 4x fitness coaches. 2x ticked for strength schedule and 2x ticked aerobics schedule. As they're working with both first team, reserve and youth players, only having 1x coach for each area makes them over-worked and therefore less effective at training. | Now even Cristiano Ronaldo can't do that!! | | | 11-05-08, 12:59 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 312 Thanks: 32 Thanked 135 Times in 61 Posts | Cool sig btw haha. I'd love to know what film it's from though. Staff limits in the lower leagues can be a killer if you want to develop players. I had a read through your thread and you're doing really well. The biggest restriction with your staff levels could be your club finances though. May be best to just have one coach for each area for the time being and build up the finances a bit. After all, your facilities won't be very good at the minute and even with 7* coaching, players will not develop as well as at bigger clubs with better facilities. Got a coach in each area and finance is ok (since many players left too) although i havent 7* fitness and a few others, it should do for now. Ill probably change staff if I ever make it to the championships or something! It is annoying when you only have a limit of 1 coach (but at most they let is three lol) Last edited by Bowser; 01-06-08 at 03:33 PM. | Current Game: Eastleigh, 2008/2009 2007/2008 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square South 2008/2009 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square Premier, Won Setanta Shield, Runners Up in FA Trophy | | | 09-06-08, 02:13 PM | #16 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 2 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | thx mate | | | | | 19-06-08, 12:53 PM | #17 (permalink) | | Co-Founder of Ruism.
