Default FFattack 4-5-1

It's my first tactic and a variation of a 451. I built it for my valencia side to play to their strengths and its not very old so would like people's opinions on it to make it better and maybe more suitable for away games :)

Need a striker with good finishing as he'll get plenty of one on ones.

AML needs decent long shots but more importantly pace, ball control and creativity. likewise with AMR as the get in around the edges of the box and try to find a way through for the striker to finish it off. the AML will shoot more than the AMR as vicente is slightly better long shots than joaquin and i didnt want too many balls being ballooned over the bar.

AMC has to have enough talent for through balls and shooting as he'll get amongst the goals also and work his way in/around the box.

MC (going forward) needs good passing and creativity

MC (going back) needs good tackling and stamina. he'll be closing down all over and tackling is set to hard so if anyone comes past he'll be taken out of it. so far its working for banega for me, lots of bookings but no red cards. I play a natural DM in this position.

all defenders require the usual or the best you have. wing backs tend to float around the half way line when attacking which is normal

Individual positions have been tweaked but you might want to set up the corners to be aimed at the best header of the ball at near post and far post. works the best for me.

ANyhow, havent used this for that long but won at home against werder bremen and real madrid comfortably(4-2 and 3-1) and also won away at chelsea 4-2 but should have scored more, hit the post about 3 times i think. Also beat the usual in the spanish league. getafe, who are always my bogey team got thumped 4-1 :)

Playing away the opponents seem to get a lot of chances so when you do play away either bring the attacking mentality down a bit or drop the AML and AMR back to ML and MR and arrows to the diagonal edge of the box so they can still do their runs and create chances and shoot etc.

It's my first tactic and you might not think its great but instead of just saying yes its good or no its sh!t could you leave a reason why you found it to be so, so i can improve and edit it.

Tactic was made with FM database and patch 8.0.2

i just updated the upload on the first post to incorporate the corner tactic.

Tweak it away from home, i'm gonna try having an anchorman behind the midfield 2. need to keep silva in tho. i'll figure it out!

That just shows my home form, too ashamed to put up the away record!

I tried out your formation with all the arrows pointing crazy directions, tbh its not much good for hull city they all got confused!

In terms of valencia when I played away from home I found the best tactic to be a straight 4-1-3-2 with low attacking and high tempo short passing with counter attack. It seemed to work better.

lol, confused hehe! Arrows arent exactly in crazy directions lol, the important players are the wingers, as long as they're good-ish they should contribute a lot as they should be running in as secondary forwards almost.

I'll give the 4-1-3-2 a go, see if it helps me away, its woeful lol

Well, i lost 2-1 but had all the possesion, and should have won.

My player seemed to shoot from long range alot, is this due to the tactic?

I'll give it a try on my Liverpool game seeing as the last tactic I downloaded isn't working very well for me.

Well first game, used it away against Valencia in the Champions League and won 3-1 so good start :D. Also, I played this match yesterday with my previous tactic and lost 4-3 or something so it's definately made a difference.

Well after winning the first game against Valencia my team went on a poor run of losses and draws, both home and away, against the likes of Man Utd, Newcastle, Olympiakos and some smaller teams that we really should be beating. Eventually we found some form and won 7 games on the bounce, then I lost both Torres and Gerrard for 2-3months and its all gone downhill again.

yeah they shoot alot, should only be on the AM's though! The benefits of having silva in the squad :D If they don't have good long shots turn them down to rarely and get them to pass more direct!
Away from home its brutal! Every game i dont win it says i should have and should be aggrieved about losing a match etc.
Thats a balls that it didnt work for newcastle, obviously still needs to be played around with, when i made the tactic it was specifically for valencia to go with the team i had so wondered how it would suit with other players. I think away from home try taking the arrows of the two MC's and put them both as more defensive, i find that alot of the goals conceded come from the central midfield area!
Thanks for the feedback on it, i'll go tinker with it a bit more and see what i come up with, i've given up on the valencia game at the minute, will try a new league and see what happens!

Usually play Insua at leftback and 3 of Alonso, Gerrard, Mascherano and Aguero in the centre mid positions, unless any of them are unfit. Also play Babel rather than Pennant or Aaritalo sometimes aswell.
