i have to say im totally with bozza about not having it on the homepage.
a lot of the conversations are not FM related at all and someone who just clicked on the site would see this and feel intimidated by starting a new conversation.
getting people to use the forums first means they can get their answers quicker and also stops people from coming on and not making any input to the community.

and also kudos for the redesign of it especially the addition of links which has made things a lot easier.
personally i also find the time/date stamps useful as i work an awful shift so the only time i get to play FM is in the early hours of the morning when its sometimes unclear if a conversation is current or 2 hours old.

i think its a good idea Bozza, all you moaners and groaners, its simple, just do ten posts if you are dedicated to the site then you would have done this by now already. it just gets rid of all those annoying wind up merchants and young hoody wearing chavs and the like who think its fun to barrage abuse at people. PS. its only a couple of clicks from the homepage, i mean come on guys give these fine people a break.

but yeah, its a good move, i think it makes the site better because you dont want the shoutbox on the homepage
but there is a small problem and its slightly slower, but you can sacrifice speed for better features, i still like it (y)

Good to see you can see it on threads now too, although would like to see it too on the "New Posts" page then itd be perfect.

My homepage was FMF anyway, now I have tabbed homepages, one with FMF, and the other with the full screened shoutbox, and it aint much different, so unless you're already doing it, I recommend it!

first of all the idea of moving it, while inconvient for some people, i totally agre with it. it also shows people who dont use the forum much what they are missing. aswell as freeing up the homepage.

secondly the posts count. Now you realise for most people this doesnt matter, but this site is set up as a forum, not a chat room, the shoutbox is a bonus, i personally think to weed out the arguments etc the best way is say 5 posts a month rather than the one time. that will get rid of the people who spamthe shoutbox to get reactions.

lastly, i prefer the new shoutbox and links are finally in there without the need to copy and paste, which did annoy me.

overall, thanks it IS an improvement for the site as a whole.

i agree with toukai, there should be a constant contribution
not just 5 posts and then screw the whole place up for those bad members :P

I think bozza`s idea is worth taking on board..someone that runs a site like this has to try out new and improved ideas(even though some people may not like it),us guys and girls have to move forward with the site progression as it is growing in stature now..Onwards and upwards i say.

yeah i apologize, i probably one of the reasons this happened.
i am pretty disappointed that this happened though, grudgingly, i admit this is a pretty good idea, seeing as people who like to make enemies with everyone, be it over what team they support or general opinions. i will have to start posting in the forums a lot more. the only problem is, my browser is sooooooo slow it takes about an hour to post 1 reply!
also, the shoutbox is a good idea and should be utilized by other forums, it would make a lot of them somewhat 'better'.
