Hey Dargo, heres my first attempt at a sig :D I might start making some for people now cos this one looks alright. Tell me what you think.

really good for your first sig there joe
as dargo said youll get better as you go along
only thing i guess you can add is a gradient (on the background layer, then reduce opacity on your background to less than 50%)
also dont show where the picture ends, try to do it so that the bottom of the picture is cut off by the borrom of the sig
final thing, dont use a filter on your render, to make renders look rally good, take a look a james' tutotial for it
i know i sound pretty anoying lol but thats what i used to do :P
but still amazing first try, much better than my first try :D

These sigs are top class mate, btw in future could you make them a bit smaller as at the moment some of them are a bit too big for this site e.g. ryan babel sig.

how di dyou make it?
im guessing you either found it on google and added bevel/emboss, or you made it with a brush...
but still very good, torres and podolski have been a completely different style, but theyre amazing lol
