I'm keeping the attacking midfilders as I play 4-2-3-1 with 3 AMs and need them. And I'm keeing Fabregas and Gilberto Silva as my first choice pairing (I like one to be more defence minded than the other). What about the young guys, who is good or becomes really good? I need to sell at least one as they are getting unhappy at not playing: Abou Diaby Mathieu Flamini Alexandre Song Denilson Lassana Diarra Thanks! Keep Denilson and maybe Flamini, but I am not entirely sure about how good he gets, although many people on the forum likes him! Diaby and Diarra are good in real life, but it's probably best to sell them, there are better midfielders then them. | Current Game: Eastleigh, 2008/2009 2007/2008 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square South 2008/2009 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square Premier, Won Setanta Shield, Runners Up in FA Trophy | | | 21-04-08, 09:52 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Banned Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Yeah, denilson is quality | | | | | 22-04-08, 12:09 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 15 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post | OK so it looks like Denilson is worth hanging on to... I reckon that means it'll have to be Song who moves on to finance a move for a DM to replace Gilberto in the long run... unless anyone has had any great experience of Song becoming a class Premiership player? | | | | | 22-04-08, 05:40 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 278 Thanks: 30 Thanked 117 Times in 49 Posts | Quote: Originally Posted by dcarterclout OK so it looks like Denilson is worth hanging on to... There are, as i have already stated, better midfielders. | Current Game: Eastleigh, 2008/2009 2007/2008 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square South 2008/2009 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square Premier, Won Setanta Shield, Runners Up in FA Trophy | | | 23-04-08, 12:47 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 15 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post | That's what I meant by Song having to move on - ie I'll sell him to fund a replacement for Gilberto... Thanks all for the advice... I guess the next question is who is a good midfielder to play alongside/behind Fabregas once Gilberto is too old? I was thinking of Nigel De Jong... | | | | | 23-04-08, 01:53 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Sunderland Posts: 483 Thanks: 6 Thanked 24 Times in 15 Posts | i would get rid of flamini (5mill) and maybe song. Diaby always seems to be worth around 15mill in a few seasons on my games and denilson is quality | | | | 23-04-08, 02:33 PM | #8 (permalink) | | FMF's World Football Geek Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Cotswolds Posts: 366 Thanks: 70 Thanked 37 Times in 36 Posts | Try Michael Johnson or Ever Banega to partner Fabregas.... | | | | | 23-04-08, 05:24 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 52 Thanks: 2 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | thiago neves from Barca B. Flamini has a brilliant workrate and did well for me when I was managing Arsenal. | | | | | 24-04-08, 09:09 AM | #11 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: In Norfolk Posts: 120 Thanks: 3 Thanked 18 Times in 14 Posts | I was Arsenal on Update 8.02. My midfield was: Fabregas Mauri (9m) Vicente (12m) Diaby Denilson Flamini Gilberto is old, and not to great anymore. Diarra is like the 5th choice CM. You do need to buy wingers to Arsenal as there is a limit to who plays well there. | Thanks for the Signature Mr Seth Current Game Swansea City Manager - 2007-Present | | | 24-04-08, 04:18 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 15 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post | Great stuff guys - thanks for all the posts. The consensus is that the two worst players are Diarra and Song, so I will sell them and get hunting for some of these replacements you mentioned! I have my eye on Ever Banega already, and it's still early enough that he is cheap.... | | | | | 29-04-08, 02:36 AM | #13 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 134 Thanks: 5 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | other alternative includes lucas biglia, distel zola or jean II MAkoun | | | | | 04-05-08, 03:06 PM | #14 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 111 Thanks: 14 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post | Quote: Originally Posted by dcarterclout I've started a game as Arsenal and am bewildered by the array of midfielders - I need help on who to keep and who to sell. I always though Diarra would come good too, but he was a little disappointing, would probably do better in a French or German league. | Signature-Care of Ru Top FMF GFX Artist Current game Spain/Birmingham 08-09 | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT.
