Help with Southampton needed pls?
Hello chaps, ive been playing as Southampton in the Championship and am really struggling.

So I was hopeing there might be some managerial genious about that can give some tips on decent signings (budget of 110k at start) and good ways of playing the group of players you inherit(formation).Also am unsure of what to do with Wright Philips and Dyer?

Any help, much appreciated.

hummmm, medium db limits me a little, but try these:

Chris James, starts the game on a free, midfielder
Lukasz Szafren, Lech, AMC

they will make an instant impact.

Few tips:
On player seach screen, filter to look for players who are not contracted, and then sort them by international caps, you'll find some real gems there.

Formation: keep it simple. a 442 is a simple formation which nearly all players know how to play, dont get too complicated. use this guide to help make your tactics right:

Thanks for the help there Paul, i have the large database now as I restarted with the Saints.So if you have anyother good cheap players that would be great.Im 10th in my first season and the board are not happy

i know he aint well known and stats arnet great but i promiswe you buy this young guy and give him 45 mmins games for a year then almost every time i bring him on he score and set up 1 at least dimurtu copil from hearts get him for 80k and gd investment for the future.

Jonathon Evans DC and Frazer Campbell ST on loan from Man United are both quality players for the Championship. Campbell is an amazing prolific goalscorer.

Stancu is a great striker also, Torje is a great striker/right midfielder, both quite cheap (less than £300k each). Although my scouts rate Nathan Dyer highly.

I play a 4-4-2 counter formation (with Bristol City) and seem to be doing well with it. I play on a defensive setting with counter attacking and have no trouble scoring goals.

anyway, i am and with saints for me, the best use for wright phillips and dyer is to sell them lol, also dont be afraid of selling skacel and rasiak... they suck, formation wise im finding evertonfans 4-3-3 to work well or pompeylibertines normal tactic.

by selling the few ive mentioned and by asking for more, then adjusting budgets you should have enough to buy:

aaritalo- if you offer him ridiculous wages he WILL come to you and a few other youngsters from the forums here, marin, bozaglo, jourdren etc...

first of all, some basic tips - this works for me always so here goes:
set up your formation so that it mirrors the opposition formation so make sure your dr is against the ml on their team, and keep doing that for all your defensive positions (have dl, dr, dc, dc, dmc)
use the screenie to help you

here, against a 4-4-2, my 2 dc's are against the 2 strikers, my fullbacks against wingers and my dmc against the more attack-minded midfielder
in the opposition instructions screen, use tight marking and closing down to always for all of these players
but in your tactics screen, use whichever system you like (i personally like zonal marking and tight for defenders)
make sure you have a scout getting a report on your next opposition, this will help you a lot
finally, use alex fernandez as a striker, he is really good if your not a prem team (though man utd wanted to buy him)
romauld boco, owen price and sanchez are really good players too)
try to get jack hobbs and krisztian nemeth on loan from liverpool
