He made his debut for the Turkish national team in 2000 against Sweden. Nihat plays predominantly as a forward but can also play as an attacking midfielder. Nihat recently played in the Euro 2008 Finals and helped the Turkish team have an impressive tournament and led them to the Semi-Finals unfortuneately he was injured and unable to play in the match against Germany, His injury will keep him out of the beggining of the 2008-2009 season with Villarreal. Best Position: Striker Nihat plays best as a forward, but could be employed in a secondary role as an attacking midfielder. Nihat is what you want as a striker on FM08, he has high stats for Dribbling (18), Finishing (19), Technique (17), Flair (17) and Composure (10). He is a fast striker and uses his pace really well as his stats for Accelaration, Agility, Pace and Stamina are all really high. He will score for fun if he gets the supply to him, he will come back to win the ball aswell and lead the line really well. He would go to most teams challenging for Europe and you will be able to get him for £13,750,000 as he has a minimum fee release clause. He will ask for wages around £26,500p/w - £34,000p/w. You can approach to sign Nihat on a pre-contract 4 years into the game. If its a clinical finisher you want that will guarantee you goals, Then you have found your man. Screenshot of Nihat's very impressive stats: I would suggest that you play Nihat upfront, he would be able to play on his own although if you have 2 upfront he would play best with a tall striker, someone like Cardozo. If he is your target man then supply to 'Run onto ball' would proberbly best suit Nihat as he is fast and strong. Run with the ball may want to be high as he has good stats in dribbling and technique, although having a defensive mentality would not suit him because he hasnt got good stats in defending. Nihat main strengths are in his Pace and his acceleration underpins his overall speed. His ability to score goals is also a big strengh. He doesnt have any real weaknesses for a forward except the fact he is getting older. Nihat is a product of Beşiktaş J.K.'s youth system and was discovered by Hurser Tugay Çelebi when Nihat played in Beşiktaş in 1996-1997 season. He joined the first team at Beşiktaş in the 1997-1998 season. In January 2002 he was transferred to Real Sociedad in Spain by former Beşiktaş coach John Toshack. While at Real Sociedad, Nihat scored 57 goals in 115 appearances. In the 2002/2003 season Nihat scored 23 goals making him the league's joint-second highest scorer for the season behind Roy Makaay (29 goals) and tied with Ronaldo. He had a very fruitful strike partnership with Serbian forward Darko Kovacevic, such that sports journalist Phil Ball nicknamed the pair "Little and large," in reference to the height difference between them (Nihat's height is 175 cm and Kovacevic's is 187 cm). He has also played in the Champions League with Real Sociedad and represented Turkey in the 2002 World Cup. On 16 May 2006 Nihat agreed to join Villarreal CF for five years on a Bosman transfer. My final verdict on Nihat is that if your a club looking to break into europe or mount a serious title challenge then he is deffinately your man, he will score plenty of goals for you and do well in europe aswell. Thankyou for reading! I Hope you enjoyed it.. NOW GO BUY HIM! Last edited by Axillo; 11-07-08 at 02:43 PM. | Gerrard Got Pwned.
