Thumbs up Igor Akinfeev

Igor Akinfeev

Name: Igor Akinfeev
Club: CSKA Moscow
Position: Goal-Keeper
Value: (In My Opinion) £8 Million
Age: 21 Years Old
Date Of Birth: 8th April 1986
Born In: Videnoye,Moscow Oblast, Soviet Union
Height: 1.85M (6ft 1inch)
Nationality: Russian
Languages: Russian
Reputation: Continental
Personality: Determined
Squad Status: Important First Team Player
CSKA Moscow
CSKA Moscow is were Igor Akinfeev started his career, and where he currently plays his football, he was signed on at youth level, and made his debut, aged just 17, in goal where he gave a solid performance, he is every present last season for CSKA Moscow, and has won a Uefa Cup with them.

Russia
Akinfeev was just 17 when he also started in goal for Russia, and played well before sub- staining an injury, which forced him to be 3rd choice keeper for Russia at Euro 2004. 2 years later he won his place back, but as Russia failed to Qualify for World Cup 2006, Akinfeev was injured again, but against Israel he came on and has been ever present, starting in all of Russia’s Euro 2008 matches, he was very solid and played well Tournament.

Below is an image of Igor Akinfeev stats on the 8:0:2 database

Football Manager 2008 Information
Name: Igor Akinfeev
Age: 21 (becomes 22 towards end of 1st season)
Position: Goal-Keeper
Value: £3.8 Million
Nationality: Russian
Languages: Russian
Reputation: Continental
Personality: Determined young lad
Squad Status: Important 1st Team Player

In Football Manager 2008, Igor Akinfeev is an absolutely class player, I brought him for Aston Villa and he was class, his stats are very good for a goal-keeper, and he is a decent player to buy on fm 2008, he does cost a lot of money to lure away from CSKA, but he’s worth every penny in my eyes.

Tactical:
Igor Akinfeev is obviously a goal-keeper so I suggest you play him in goal, as he is a great shot-stopper and with a back-4 which is dominates, your team will be immense and class.

Strengths: So here is why Igor Akinfeev is rated so highly on Football Manager 2008 PC.

Determination: 19: That is a fantastic thing to have for a player, a determined youngster who wants to get better in goal, and is determined to do well when he joins your club, when he joined me at Aston Villa he was really determined to do well and impress his new manager (me)

Aggression: 18: Yes he is aggressive for the right reasons, he loves to claim that football, and save those 1-on-1 shots attempts, his aggression is high so I would keep it at that level if possible, using Tug-Training Programme 2008.

Throwing: 17: A Goal-Keeper needs a good long throw to pick out a team mate to set-up and counter attack, with a throwing attribute of 17, Igor Akinfeev does that most of the time, and its good to have a keeper who can throw quite far and accurately.

Natural Fitness: 17: Igor Akinfeev stays fit, and healthy most of the time, with it being 17, its hard to injury this hard nut, he stays fit and trains very very hard and well for you, this is a decent attribute to have for Akinfeev and your team.

Also his Concentration, Composure, Agility, and Stamina are very high as well as 16 they seem pretty decent to have..

Weaknesses:
Igor Akinfeev does have weaknesses like every players, so improve these with Tug-Training 2008.

Off The Ball: 1: even though he’s a goal-Keeper he needs to improve when he is off the ball, maybe that’s how he scored his own-Goal for me, still he’s great to have.

Teamwork:4: his team-work isn’t very good, he works for himself I guess, and this needs improving as Football is a Team Game.

Rushing Out:13: Akinfeev needs to rush out a bit more on 1-on-1 and claim that football, so his FM circle rushes out more, use a goal-keeper programme which gets him to rush out more, ok.

Decisions:13: Being A Keeper, Akinfeev needs to learn what decisions he needs to make and stick to them, don’t run off your line then run back, but still Igor does make some great Decisions.

Also his Eccentricity being 8 needs improving and so does Igor Akinfeev Flair towards a match.

To Conclude, I think Igor Akinfeev is a top player who you should try and Purchase, make sure you have £10 Million spare in case you need to out bid clubs to land this gem, he is a very consistent keeper, who is brilliant for Football Manager 2008, so I suggest you purchase him as your 1st Choice Keeper. Good Luck with buying Igor Akinfeev

Rushing out and decisions are his weaknesses as you pointed out, but as far as teamwork I dont think it really matters, because goalkeepers are naturally and should be more egoistic as the field players.

Nice guide!
