Rakitic started his career at FC Basel, although on June 22, 2007, Rakitic was signed by German side FC Schalke 04. He was seen by their head coach, Mirko Slomka, to be a replacement for Brazilian midfielder Lincoln, who left the club for Galatasaray. He made his debut for Croatia against Estonia in Zagreb and was highly praised by the fans as he was entering the game as a substitute. In Croatia's following qualifier, a 6–0 away win over Andorra on September 12, 2007, he scored his first international goal for Croatia in only his second appearance for the team. In Football Manager '08 Ivan Rakitic is a great young talent although you cannot buy him in the first season because he has just moved to Schalke and it is very very unlikely that he will want to join you. I bought him in the second season for 11M and he was dynamite for me at Newcastle. This is him at the start of the game  This is him at the start of the 3rd season  As you can see he has made alot of improvements in the 2 seasons! Tactical Instructions Ivan Rakitic is a naturally born AMC but he is also an accomplished MC. When I used him I play him in AMC with a lot of creativity and very attacking instructions. I love this player. Not only for his talents on Football Manager but his name reminds me of a Pokémon.  In all seriousness though, I agree that he's a star. Phenominal player on FM. I too had him at Newcastle and I also had him at Barca. Awesome guide Abs. Yet again. |

But if he is still a Shalke then i would say you have a good chance of getting him. You might be able to pick him up for around 11M to 17M (I think). Hope this helped mate  |
