Forestieri was born in Rosario, from parents originally from Messina, Sicily. His career began in 2003 with Newell's Old Boys but in 2003, when he was just 13, Boca Juniors bought him for $50,000. In Buenos Aires, Forestieri became well-known for his way of playing, which was compared with Lionel Messi's.
In January 2006, at the age of 16, Genoa signed Forestieri on a five-year contract; Boca tried to keep the young player, but failed to do so. That summer he played some friendly matches with Genoa, and in one of them Torino president Urbano Cairo saw Forestieri in action and offered 500,000 for him, but Genoa refused.[3] On 8 November 2006, Forestieri made his official debut with Genoa in a lost Coppa Italia match against Empoli.
Forestieri has been capped by Italy national under-17, and under-19 football team, after refusing the calling of the Argentina U-17. The young player decided to play for the Azzurri because the dream of his family was to live and work in Italy.
In Football Manager '08
Fernando starts a bit quiet in the game but as the game goes on he tends to get better and better. I always buy him for my teams in FM and he is always a great player. To buy him you will need to make to separate as he is co - owned by Siena and Genoa. But he starts the game playing with Siena. You can usually pick him up for about 5M (2.5M to each team) but its worth it although you could try a lower bid.

i dont really like having this guy on the first-team, nevertheless, a very hot prospect, i'd like to put piatti, but i never put this guy. piatti is faster and more average-stated while forrestieri has more good stats and bad stats and less average stats. both have 1-year-difference |

good guide, although there are better options available to this player, Forestieri doesnt always turn out good its 50/50 on every game |
