Default Luis Jiménez

Luis Jiménez
His pictures are as scarce as a needle in a haystack

Luis Antonio Jiménez Garces commonly known as Luis Jiménez (born June 17, 1984 in Santiago, Chile), is a Chilean footballer who plays for Internazionale in Serie A and for the Chilean National Football Team. He is nicknamed "El Mago" ("The Wizard"). His career is unique because he has forged a career in Serie A, an elite European soccer league, without first establishing a reputation in his native country. He actually moved and earned a place at Ternana Calcio of his own accord. Typically a footballer will transfer to an Italian club after a great international and domestic performance

In Real Life

Jiménez started his Italian footballing career at Ternana Calcio where he played from 2002 to 2005. During the January 2006 transfer window Jimenez completed his move to Serie A side ACF Fiorentina in a joint co-ownership with his former club. The Chilean generally plays as either a right sided winger, striker or occasionally a centre forward for Fiorentina. His right foot is his strongest but he can also make good use of his left foot. He appeared 19 times during the 2005-06 season for Fiorentina, scoring 3 goals in the process.

In late June 2006, Ternana purchased half of the rights to the player back from Fiorentina. Since Ternana would play in Italian Serie C1 in the 2006-07 season, it was highly unlikely that he would remain with them. However, although a loan accord was reached with Lazio of Serie A, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan, Ternana changed the terms and made extortionate demands. Lazio did not agree to these new terms (which included Lazio paying the salary for four of Ternana's players) and Jiménez remained in Ternana. In return, the player stated that he will not play for Ternana again (too bad this can't be achieved in FM) and has asked FIFA to intervene and annul his contract with Ternana because of the team's unfair treatment.

On January 15, 2007, Lazio finally agreed on a move for Jimenez worth 11 million Euros, with the first season on loan, and on January 27 he played his first Serie A match for Lazio against Palermo.

On July 15, 2007, Inter Milan signed him on loan from Ternana. He scored his first Inter goal in the Champions League against Fenerbache, a lovely goal coming in extra time, and was rewarded with his first Inter start on the 2nd of December against Fiorentina, where he scored the opening goal, and then went on to start the subsequent match against Lazio on the 5th of December, where he set up Maicon's goal and had a goal disallowed offside, and set up another disallowed goal.

He made his international debut on April 28, 2004, in a match against Peru. On June 4, 2005, Jiménez assisted Marcelo Salas' historic 35th goal with the national team. The goal came in a qualification match versus Bolivia which Chile went on to win 3-1. Four days later, he scored twice against Venezuela in another qualification match. Jiménez recently became captain of Chile and also won the 2005-06 Chile Player of the Year award.

In-game
In-game Jimenez is an excellent player, with good technical stats and fairly good mentality and decent physical attributes, he is a good player for most teams. Teams such as the 'Big Four' considers him as good signing while mid-table teams to championship teams regard him as a quality player.

His price tag is only 3.1 million pounds with the squad rotation status and if we negotiate a bit, we would get 3.5 million, in some games, Termana very occasionally labels him as important first-team player and he will be available to most teams, including the Championship teams.

The only problem here is the transfer date. His transfer will only happen on the 1st of July 2008 (which is Tuesday :D). But on the other hand, nobody has ever bid for him in the first season as long as I have played.

Stats
My 3rd guide and I still don't know how to put decent pics of a player and nobody has obliged to my request of helping me

Anyway, I'll write it again as I did on my 2nd guide on Piatti
I'll compare 1st and 2nd season like I did previously and again, bold will be his strength, italic, his weakness, a new italic underlined, weakness that doesn't do much (e.g long throws), bold and italic stats that can improve and underlined will be the stats that make him so good, and 2 more new elements, the Times New Roman font that says, "I think this is a strong point," and the (bold) Times New Roman font underlined is 'I think this what makes him so good"

TECHNICAL

Corners - 15 + 1 Crossing - 14 + 1 Dribbling - 20 (Max) Finishing - 13 + 1 First Touch - 17 + 1 Free Kicks - 15 + 1 Heading - 10 + 1 Long Shots 14 + 1 Long Throws - 7 + 1Marking - 7 + 2 Passing - 18 + 1 Penalty Taking - 15 + 1 Tackling - 10 + 1 Technique - 19 + 1 (Max)

MENTAL
Agression - 10 Anticipation - 15 + 1 Bravery - 14 + 1 Composure - 17 + 1 Concentration - 15 + 1 Creativity - 16 + 1 Decisions - 17 + 1 Determination - 16 Flair - 18 Influence - 12 + 1 Off The Ball - 16 + 1 Positioning - 10 + 1 Teamwork - 12 + 1 Work Rate - 14 + 1

Physical

Acceleration - 14 Agility - 15 Balance - 9 Jumping - 11 + 1 Natural Fitness - 15 Pace - 14 Stamina - 11 + 2 Strength - 12 + 1

He has excellent technical stats with max dribbling, 18 + 1 passing, a 19 + 1 technique, 17 + 1 first touch and other decent stats (13 - 15). He makes an excellent player with technical abilities and fairly good mental attributes, his only flaw is probably his long throws and marking, which doesn't mean much since he is an AMC

What can I say? He has a decent stat for an AMC, he has good Off The Ball skills, good decisions, creativity and composure, decent determination as well which may help him a bit in situations and he has good flair. Problems are his mediocre positioning (10 + 1), above average work rate(whether or not this for MC or AMC I can't remember exactly) (14 + 1) and that's probably it.

Nothing much to talk about his physique, he has decent physical stats overall, only problem is his balance which many AMFs have in the whole game.

Conclusion

Always buy him, he can be used for a back-up (although I don't really recommend it), a first-team prem team player (Arsenal, Liverpool, Bolton, Man City, Reading, Birmingham, etc) as well as being a Championship player (Leeds, Sheffield Utd and Wed, Bristol, Hull, QPR, etc)

He is cheap, technically awesome and mental attribute-wise, he isn't half bad and I recommend this guy to all teams in need of an AMC

I've always looked at him but never really bought him as I've never really thought he'd be good enough for teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton etc. but I might have a bid next time now I've read your guide.

Good guide this and really helpful. Brought the guy for Liverpool once and he was good but got fed up of squad rotation. Have signed him for Villareal in my game but like an idiot I didn't realise he can't join until July 2008! Wish I had read this guide first!

Thanks to Liveru for the sig
