Andrea was born on the 5 of May 1981 in Fiesole, Italy. Andrea started his career at Italian club Rondinella Calcio in the 1998/99 season. In 2001 he then moved to the Serie B club Pistoiese in 2000/01. Andrea only stayed with them for a short period and moved back to Riondinella later in the season. In season 2001/02, Barzagli signed for Ascol. DUring his spell here he played a big part in Ascoli's promotion to Serie B. Andrea stayed with Ascoli until he was signed by Chievo in 2003. His Serie A debut came against Brescia which ended up in a 1-1 draw. After one season at Chievo Andrea was off to Palermo. After 4 years at Palermo he has now become the captain of the club.
Andrea was rumoured to be on his way to Fiorentina but negotiations on the deal did'nt go through. He has since agreed to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on a 3 year contract.
Andrea got his first cap for Italy in 2004 when Italy faced Finland. Andrea was also part of the 2006 World Cup winning side.

In my opinion Andrea is probably one of the best defenders on FM. He will be a perfect addition to title challenging teams in the big leagues. He also comes in very handy around set pieces. Andrea will score plenty of goals from corners as well with his height and heading ability. Andrea will rarely let you down as his concentration and determination is immense as well as all of his other great stats which i am now going to talk about.
And to get it right on the corners use this
http://www.fmformation.net/tactics-t...ner-trick.html Corner trick should be used with only patch 8.02
Andrea's best position is as a DC obviously. He can be deployed as a Sweeper but i would'nt reccomend it really.
Andrea has all the strenght's needed for a great defender and here is a few of the more notable ones:
Heading - 18
Marking - 19
Tackling - 18
Anticipation - 17
Composure - 18
Concentration - 18
Determination - 17
Influence - 18
Decisions - 15
Positioning - 15
Teamwork - 15
Work Rate - 16
Jumping - 17
Natural Fitness - 15
Stamina - 15
Strength - 17
Not too many weaknesses for a defender as you can see, but here are some that could be better:
Technique - 8
Off the ball - 3
First touch - 6
Pace - 13
And thats all I can find for this near perfect defender
Forget your John Terry's and Rio Ferdinand's, this guy is one of the best on the game. And I know as I have past experience with him on FM. He will be the rock in your defence once he gets used to your tactics and the language of whatever country you are in. And another could thing is that he does'nt break the bank, only 12mil for one of the best seems fair enough to me. An absolute legend on FM !!!!
