Real Life
Miralem Pjanic is an attacking midfielder for French Ligue 1 side Metz.
He is of Bosnian origin but he and his family fled the Balkan war in 1991 and settled in Luxembourg. He settled into the Metz youth acadamy set up and represented Luxembourg at under 17 level, catching the attention of many during the 2006 European Championships.
He then went on to represent Bosnia at under 21 level but that hasn't stopped the French from exploring whether or not he could now represent them.
In November 2007 he was elligible to sign his first professional contract and nearly every top club in Europe was seeking his signature. Instead he decided to sign with Metz in an act of loyalty to the club who had trained him through thier youth ranks.
Pjanic is a skillful attacking midfielder with talent to burn. When in full flow his skills dominate a match and he is capable of scoring some spectacular goals with his fondness for shooting from range. With Metz again suffering a poor season in the French league it wont be long before he takes the step up to a bigger stage.

If managed well, Miralem Pjanic can be a real gem in Football Manager. With no first team football under his belt he may seem a bit of a gamble but most scouts will have spotted him as a future star and he can be found on most wonderkid shortlists available.
I took him to Liverpool in the first season and then sent him back out to France on loan for 2 seasons where his form was exceptional. His first season in the premiership was in the reserves with occassional first team action....his 4th season has really seen him develop as the screenshots show.

Playing just behind a lone striker is probably his most effective position but anywhere in midfield where he can cause damage works well. I'm not sure how much more this player develops but in sich a short space of time he is already showing loads of potential and is performing at international level at a young age (FM seems to have made up Pjanic's mind as to which country to play for and opted for Bosnia).
Perhaps his only weakness is that he can be a little injury prone but when he's good, he's a real match winner.
I'm not sure if he would sign for a championship side but I see no reason why not as he made no fuss about being sent on loan to a low level of French football to start with but would probably best be used as a good squad player for a premiership side.
